  • I just died.

    I want one so badly!

Give her a hug from me please!

  • @InsanityVonDuex Thanks! You've got it :D

  • can any one own a savannah cat? cus they are so cute!

  • @Coolio2314

If it is a force-choice question, I would say no. They require experienced and careful handling, especially if you don't want to eventually hating your savannah and serving them as a Christmas Roast. Please see my earlier comments. :D

  • i have a savannah

  • I forgot to ask can you give your Savannah Cat a big HUG for me all the way from Australia.

  • Your Savannah cat Is gorgeous I wish I had one.

  • ur savanah has the cutest meow EVER!!!!!!!!!

  • That's an amazing cat you got there.

  • @richardhalo thank you!

  • Awwwwwww <3

  • @HoshiSanada Thanks!

  • Looks like Lyra gave 1 person motion sickness

  • @goodolarchie sorry.... I am but a poor cameraman... :(

  • She is beautiful. You are 1 lucky cat owner.

  • @mmolenda1978 hahaha I do have to get new work cloth every week, since she eats about 1 per week :D

  • what breed is Lyra?

  • @abaachii0keh Savannah :D

  • @joeyessoe gorgeous!

  • I would love to own a Savannah cat one day. Right now though, it would be hard for me as I want to first get a domestic pet cat since I'm living on my own and have never raised a cat by myself. Once I have proved myself a responsible cat owner, then I would really like to look into getting a Savannah. Regardless of the high price, which determines the amount of wild blood in the cat, it is a beautiful animal nonetheless. Love you, Lyra!

  • @27Murasaki Thank you :) I suspect your future Savannah would like to have company anyway :D, might be an idea to adopt an adolescence or adult cat that grew up with other cats, so it would be more likely to accept the S. kitten in the future.

  • I so want one of these beauties, but they are so expensive!

  • lol you can just see the moderately suppressed serval attitude in the F2... biting and dragging stuff

  • @xeotech1 LOL yep. if left alone, she will also chew it into a pulp and swallow it.

  • Is the rag-doll mix part tuxedo? I have a 4-month old tux who is the cutest EVAR. i'll upload vids when my camera's fix'd.

  • @pivotous as far as i understand, "tuxedo" describes a pattern of colouration, the animal itself could be of a number of breeds :D I will look forward to the videos! Don't forget to private message me so I don't miss it!!

  • She is Just Beautiful!!! How many Kittys you have?? they are all So Sweet!!!

  • @AngelBabe2233 I have 3 :) The savannah, and two adopted ones: a siamese x burmese, and a rag-doll mix.

  • @joeyessoe Beautiful Kittys!!! :D

  • @AngelBabe2233 thanks! :D

  • Awwwww so cute! ♥♥♥♥

  • Would I be able to own a Savanna cat as a pet? I live in Pittsburgh.

  • @GintokisGirl95 I don't know... You can probably call your local animal control to find out. Ask them what hybrid animals are allowed. Each city, county, and state have different rules. In my county the only rule is that I am never to declaw her.

  • @joeyessoe Oh, I see....Thank you anyway! :P

  • @GintokisGirl95 Thanks for the compliment :D

  • She's beautiful - living in England I've never seen a puss like this before. She looks like an ocelto!

  • @gazzo45 Thank you! I think her father is an occicat :)

  • I would like to have a Savannah...but I live in GA one of only 4 states where it is illegal to own them....

  • @nina20021

Aw... Join us in California for the sunshine and Savannah!!

All kidding aside, have you considered a Bengal cat? They are a very well established hybrid, and I have heard many success stories when people understand what they are getting into.

  • @nina20021 what other states don't allow them do you know?

  • @BrandyNicole92

I am so sorry BrandyNicole92, for the late reply. For some reason I missed your comment's "approval" box!! I know for sure that Nebraska allowed them in 2008, since I got her then from there. As far as I know, they still allow the wonderful breeder we used is still operating, so I have no evidence that they had changed their policies. However, as I told GintokisGirl95, the easiest and safest way to find out is to contact your local animal control regarding this issue.

  • Awww, so adorable. I cannot wait until I get a Savannah kitten.

  • @KagomexPrincess

    ooo are we expecting?

  • @joeyessoe I've been doing a lot of research and I really want a female kitten. I have one domestic cat who has been my "daughter" pretty much and she seems lonely. I think she would very much like a friend. =]

  • @KagomexPrincess

Very nice!!! Is your cat playful? One of our 2 domestic cats hates Lyra, but they for the most part tolerate each other.

  • So Savanah cats get along well with other cats? Good because I really want one to match my strange chirping half Siameese (sp) cat.

  • @DarkAngelAzreil

Lyra's best friend/brother/boy friend is a Siamese/Burmese mix ;) . He is very talkative, too!

What does the "(Sp)" stands for?

  • How cute! What generation is she? I'm planning on getting an f6 savannah in a few months!

  • @Inuyashafangirl2back

Lyra is F2, the 75% is Occicat. Savannah is really fun if you are ready for what you are getting into :) F6's should be a lot less trouble, hehee. What mix do you want to get?

  • @joeyessoe

The breeder I'm in contact with says mama is a melanistic..black with black spots. Daddy is an f5 gold color with large splotches... (babies are still cookn in mama :) ) Less trouble you say? xD

  • @Inuyashafangirl2back

well... less trouble in terms of Savannah, LOL, since their behaviour would more closely resemble a "normal" cat--which is already a lot of trouble, LOL.

  • Really cute girl :3

Little bit of a cleptomaniac tho ? ;D

  • @Azotadeth

LOL, only when it comes to wool and ribbons.

She steals sweaters and all thing wool, then sits on them and chews them into pulp and swallows them. She ate my favourite--probably because it had the additional attraction of smelling like mammy. So we monitor her when we entertain her with wool, so she doesn't eat hem and get sick ;)

  • @joeyessoe

May your favourite sweater RIP xD

Thats a weird habit, wonder if Lyra thinks she's a moth of sorts :p

Then again, Tifa, my siamese, does a bit of the same with her toys, the silly girl. Likes to chew on her toy mice in particular, specially those with catnip ofc. She tears them apart and eat them, albeit by the time she finishes wrecking and disemboweling their padded fibre interior she loses interest ^_^u

  • @Azotadeth

    That sounds familiar, LOL.

I adore siamese, I think my blue-eyed baby Oryon might be a Siamese Burmese mix. He is pretty entertaining, but not as much a crowd-pleaser like Lyra. He is way too smart for his own good, LOL. E.g. He can open deadbolts to let himself out for walks in a neightbourhood where Coyotes live. Oryon is really what made me think I am ready for a Savannah. hehhee.

  • Holy crap! Savannahs are AWESOME! But they are SOOOOOOO expensive. I'd love to have one since they aren't as fluffy as Maine Coons but still have the size, but heck I don't want to pay no $20K for one LOL

  • @RemCycleDN

I got Lyra for less than $3,000 because she was a pet (instead of a "breeder", so she was spayed by the breeder), and was 11-week-old when I bought her. It worked out perfectly for me, as I don't plan to breed any pet, and I prefer kittens to be with their mothers longer anyway.

I had never bought a cat before (all my other pets are adopted), so that was quite a big deal for me on both the principle and monetary aspect. However, having her spayed made me feel better, hehee.

  • @RemCycleDN

If you are interested in getting a Savannah, please send me a private message, and I can tell you more about the breed and my breeder. Savannahs are really quite a handful, just want to make sure you know what you are getting yourself into, lol. I am a animal trainer myself, so it was a good match, but they are not for everyone.

  • @joeyessoe It will likely be a long time before I could even consider getting one, but I would love to know more about how to acquire one should the opportunity arise and of course proper care information to determine if it's wise. There are lots of breeds I love but am not well-matched for. So I want to be sure I am educated before choosing a new companion.

  • @RemCycleDN

That's perfect. You are welcome to write me when the time comes :D

  • like like like like!! i love when cats are vocal, makes me happy to hear their little mews

  • Rofl its stealing your jacket XD

  • Aww I want a Savannah. <3 I love your voice btw. LOL its weird but its awesome.

  • how do you get those cat for free????????

  • Unfortunately as a relatively new breed it is probably rather impossible to find one for adoption--I am assuming that's what you mean by free...

Most breeders and all rescue group discourage giving away any animals for free, as it encourages irresponsible animal handling.

  • Thank you guys!!

  • LMAO awwh! <3

  • cuteness OVERLOAD.....Gorgeous cat

  • smart kitty! and SOOOO pretttttty!
