@ericessable Yes, but Barney is trademarked, and they (the Barney producers) aggressively prosecute any infringement. That, and orange is funnier than purple.
I'm glad I'm not as nerdy as this guy, especially since I'm finally growing into some of my parents' demands that address their concerns about me like I should've been when I was a teenager, and I'm pretty sure helping out around the house is no exception.
@Rubberman202 I feel the same way, especially since ending up like that has triggered so much concern in my parents, especially since I know they're supposed to rescue me from the evil clutches of immorality.
@Katana314 UGH-reed. Bronies truely reflect the stereotypical fanboys shown here. The Sonic fanbase should also take a gander at this, since they nitpick the LIVING HELL out of the games. *caughs* Rich Kuta *caughs*
I have donated over 100 dollars to this foundation ever since it cured me of my Internet/cartoon addiction. I was handled with the most loving and caring way as I was beaten senseless with a large mallet. All the doctors there were the nicest people I have met(although they still wouldn't show me their degrees). Thank you, Please Please Pleese Get A Life foundation. I am typing this from my mansion thanks to you.
...is there one for anime? or does this cover everything? if so, my friend from elementary school needs to get a life regarding the story about blood sucking pixies.
@KyFriedPlatypus It's an animation nerd thing in general. Bronies are just more conspicious. Thirty minutes on TV Tropes should pretty much demonstrate that MOST shows have a fandom which at least partially consists of this sort of thing.
Anyone else notice and then decide whether it was a good idea or not to point out that the person posting this video wrote "pleese" instead of "please" on the last word of the title? Although this slightly subverts it since it is in static bold letters over the video.
@etherraichu It has been pointed out to me that this is the case in the end of the episode. The loud noises hurt my head so i stopped watching after the anvil drop. But yes, I do find it funny too.
Are you a grown adult wasting your life by looking up old cartoons that you watched 15 years ago as a child on the internet? Did you already know that this clip was talking DIRECTLY to you? Did you, in fact, actually rewind back to the point Yakko was talking about?
Then you really need the Please, please, PLEESE Get A Life Foundation!
@tymime I was being more insulting to MYSELF than anyone else. I'm feeling like I'm getting too old to feel good about wasting time watching old cartoons... I guess I'm growing up...
@Takeshi357 No, it isn't. It was just poking fun at (and with) the fans on the Usenet newsgroup alt.tv.animaniacs. They even showed it to a group of us in person a month before it aired.
Watching Fanboy's rant in the beginning made my head spin (I will admit I knew about the "pay OR play " vs. "pay FOR play," but I had heard about pay or play contracts somewhere else). Did/do people really do this? I mean, for a cartoon show?
@TheTigerwolf55 Sure, just as they do now. Writer Peter Hastings used an online document called the "Cultural References Guide for Animaniacs" (commonly known as the CRGA) which was a compilation of esoteric facts, references, and nitpicks that fans posted to the Animaniacs newsgroup. Every fact the fanboys state in this cartoon is from an actual post that was compiled into the CRGA. We didn't take ourselves too seriously, though, and loved this episode, which Peter showed to us before it aired.
Oh, and contrary to what "mhirtes12" says, there's nothing to do with Falk and Tominak. Each of them has only one entry in the CRGA. I'd never even heard of Tominak -- had to look up the name. Falk was a huge, notorious Tiny Toons fanboy but he wasn't much of an Animaniacs fan. If I recall correctly, he was one of those obsessed TTA fans who held a grudge against Animaniacs for replacing TTA.
Laying on a beach...sitting in an office counting money...I don't know what's more disturbing, the nerds who analyze the references, or what the animators consider "getting a life" is.
