My interest is in mother ducks' behavior. To test whether or not a mother duck has true love: (1) put her into a dangerous situation (e.g. stoning her) and force her to fly away (2) physically abuse her baby ducks (e.g. break their legs, tear off two little wings) so that they keep chirping and crawling (3) stand beside these baby ducks (4) see whether the mother duck has the courage to come back to protect her baby ducks. In several occasions, I grabbed ALL babies of a mother duck and put them in a bag. Then I crashed all babies to death by a big stone. At first, the bitch quacked, but after I put food on the ground, she stopped quacking and enjoyed the food. Later other ducks joined the food party and the bitch kept enjoying the food. No chirping => the bitch forgot she had babies.

@JimiHindrex I understood the kids but not the mom. I think it's a lesson for all parents how patient she is and doesn't just push them in which she could easily do. She steers them to a point where they have to decide for themselves. And you can actually see the conversation between the last 3. You go. No you go. I'll go if you go. No, I'll go if You go. It's kids anywhere, of any species, daring each other to take that next step into the world. We all have to learn to swim : )

I guess that is because they were just born (maybe on that day). So they are afraid of water. However, their parents were beyond their reach. Finally, the anxiety drive them mad. : p
