@Randseed21 To rephrase that comment..........if you compare MW4 with MW3, then it's not that good a game. There are some logic errors, fo example you can use equipment in MW4 that was destroyed in the mission before. Then there is the fact, that you can't set your weapons up for chainfiring is worse also, since you can't shoot as flexible as with chainfiring, since you can't adjust the firing "rythm", the way you shoot, to heat buildup and the tactical situation
@Randseed21 continuing part 1. MWLL is better than both MW3 and MW4 since the AIs in both titles weren't exactly stellar, hence the AI was unable to use the capabilities of the mechs, like jumpjets and so on. Human players can use them to their maximum extent, or not! Additionally in MWLL the assault class is not the beat em all kill em all class, they do have their weaknesses, which you can exploit. I like the emphasis of Pilot skills and tactics in MWLL.
@Randseed21 Part 3 I also like the mechlab in MW3 more than the one in MW4, it gave you more creative freedom and the type of armor you used (Ferro-Fibrous or Standard Armor) made a lot of difference. On the downside you could build weapons in, where there was no podspace/Hardpoints Battletech. You could do some crazy things with it like a 90 Ton Sunderer with 3 CERPPC that could go about a 100km/h on MASC.
Also in MW 4 you couldn't leg mechs, well while it's cosidered unfair in online-gaming it feels kind of strange if you read about mechs getting legged in the Battletech novels and in MW4 it didn't work.
In the end the playing style didn't fit me as well as in MW3, it felt a lot more like a run-and-gun with mechs, than tactical mech combat. But that is my opinion, just mine, you have a different opinion, fine, no hard feelings.

To be honest the critical core explosions are awesome and I like it that they dont happen all the time like mw4. However I tink that the explosion radius should be bigger and have ALOT more damage and increase heat drasticly. It is a nuke isnt it?

this was highly recommended this month gamingmagazine (Pelit) in Finland so I think it's still on. I'm about to buy Crysis Warhead immediatelly, costs only 9,99€ in Steam :)
@beefstik11 As MinChiken said it´s Battletech Lore the Elemental is the Clan Power Armor Infantry, and has been an integral Part of Battletech Lore since before Mechwarrior 2, loong before there was even the Idea for Mech Assault. @beefstik11 The lore defines the wars the engagements, in some cases like the clans, it defines the rules of engagement, the weapons and the tactics to use. If someone plays Battletech, which is a tabletop strategy game, there are different rulesets, which all have their foundation in this lore. All computer games are spinnoffs, but good ones, except for MW4. Also part of the lore are the conditions of planets, from weather to population and politics, which all can influence the game.

@lightvsdarkness92 This is a mod for the game Crysis, you start any game as a battlearmor (or infantry i think), and you can pilot any mech and vehicle that you purchase in game.

@Warpath2198 when i first played this mod, i had an xp machine, 32 bit.. 3 Gb ram, 500meg graphics... CTD happened every match, now i have upgraded to all of the above, its solid, CTD maybe once a day(at most), and for a BETA thats acceptable :)
We are now dropping regular Crysis support with the upcoming Beta 0.5.0 release so make sure you got the Crysis Warhead version which includes Crysis Wars, the multiplayer component.

@Ostfront1942 Yes, Crysis Warhead comes with Wars, which is what you want. Check the MWLL Wiki page "How to install" for details on the installation. And you would definitely not be the first to buy Warhead just for MWLL :)

i just intalled this mod and for some reason when i go to create a match it doesn't load it just goes back to the online menu. I have installed patch 1.2 and 1.21 for crysis and have fully patched MMLL . can anyone help me
@nonhuman11111111111 You can't create your own matches in-game (it's still in the menu, but doesn't work), but you can use the "dedicated server" option of the MWLL launcher to launch your own. Also note that most servers and players have switched to Crysis Wars already.
@BIPICY MWLL 0.4.x is for both Crysis and Crysis Wars (which comes with Warhead). However, most players and servers have switched to Wars already and 0.5 will only support Wars.
@hellscreamWC3 There is a website for this, mech living legends I believe, just search Mechwarrior:Living Legends and it should be on the first page. You'll need Crysis, Crysis warhead, or Crysis Wars, preferably Crysis wars as it will be the only supported game to use once the 0.5.0 beta is released. Hope this helps.
I'd learn Cryengine 3 to have the opportunity to work with you guys. I've been using the Unreal Engine for quite some time for level design, but it seems that the overall quality of Cryengine 2 and 3 is far superior.
Battletech and Mechwarrior have always been one of my favorite franchises - been so disappointed there haven't been any official games out for so long! This looks AWESOME. Vehicles? Holy shit.
But unfortunately I don't have the $500 bucks to drop on upgrading my computer
They STILL haven't gotten to a release? No Joystick support? Still a Beta? Man, way too bad. My bet is they got a Cease and Desist from whoever bought the license from MS. Then they said "Mechwarrior 5" and that died, too. Pity, Mech SIMULATORS were cool. FPS? meh, not so much.
We have been in public beta "release" since December 26, 2009 and we are now planning our 0.4.0 version update in the next few weeks. We still have permission to use the IP from Microsoft.
We also have joystick support, yes it takes a bit of work to configure it - but JS support is not natively built into Crysis, how many mods do you know that actually expand upon the control options of their parent game?
@KingLeerUK Any chance that this might include TrackIR support one day? that would be awesome. It might be a lot of buck, but the Bang is like an Atlas breaking through the front door. It gives a lot of immersion, since like in RL you move your sight by moving your head. The Arma Series works with it. Has anyone ever tested it out with an X-52 and Saitek Pro Flight rudder Pedals? And an SST profile? Otherwise i would be quite willing to put i to the test.
One thing you have to remember is it is in beta. I'm sure JS sup[port will come . AS for the stupid idea to make it a fps. There are always two camps about mech games the sim people who like to have view point of pilot of mech or race car, or plane view and the gamer who wants to float above his game piece he is controlling because that gives him the best view. Sim people like complicated controls to the game, and specs for the various weapons. Games just want to not read a manual jump in play
Great mod but i still prefer Mechwarrior 4 over this. The inability to play with joystick+Keyboard pretty much kills it for me. Yeah you can do it you JS but by a very complex and dificult way, and even then it isnt quite right. The mod doesnt have JS support and thats moslty because some graphics addicted retard had the stupid idea of making a Mech sim mod in a FPS...
Get real kids graphics arent everything on a game, unlike most gamers think nowadays... -.-
i have downloaded all the files that keep it up to date but when i try to install the 0.3.2 patch it doesnt seem to take affect and after its installed it says the auto updater is not working

To play the beta you need Crysis Vanilla. The final version of this mod is supposedly going to use 'Crysis wars' which you need to buy the Crysis expansion pack to get. Or you can just buy 'Crysis maximum edition' to get the original aswell as the expansion.

@Ostfront1942 Yes, Crysis Warhead comes with Wars, which is what you want. Check the MWLL Wiki page "How to install" for details on the installation. And you would definitely not be the first to buy Warhead just for MWLL :)

i just intalled this mod and for some reason when i go to create a match it doesn't load it just goes back to the online menu. I have installed patch 1.2 and 1.21 for crysis and have fully patched MMLL . can anyone help me

@nonhuman11111111111 You can't create your own matches in-game (it's still in the menu, but doesn't work), but you can use the "dedicated server" option of the MWLL launcher to launch your own. Also note that most servers and players have switched to Crysis Wars already.

@BIPICY MWLL 0.4.x is for both Crysis and Crysis Wars (which comes with Warhead). However, most players and servers have switched to Wars already and 0.5 will only support Wars.

You'll need Crysis, Crysis warhead, or Crysis Wars, preferably Crysis wars as it will be the only supported game to use once the 0.5.0 beta is released. Hope this helps.

I'd learn Cryengine 3 to have the opportunity to work with you guys. I've been using the Unreal Engine for quite some time for level design, but it seems that the overall quality of Cryengine 2 and 3 is far superior.

We have been in public beta "release" since December 26, 2009 and we are now planning our 0.4.0 version update in the next few weeks. We still have permission to use the IP from Microsoft.
We also have joystick support, yes it takes a bit of work to configure it - but JS support is not natively built into Crysis, how many mods do you know that actually expand upon the control options of their parent game?

@KingLeerUK Any chance that this might include TrackIR support one day? that would be awesome. It might be a lot of buck, but the Bang is like an Atlas breaking through the front door. It gives a lot of immersion, since like in RL you move your sight by moving your head. The Arma Series works with it. Has anyone ever tested it out with an X-52 and Saitek Pro Flight rudder Pedals? And an SST profile? Otherwise i would be quite willing to put i to the test.

One thing you have to remember is it is in beta. I'm sure JS sup[port will come . AS for the stupid idea to make it a fps. There are always two camps about mech games the sim people who like to have view point of pilot of mech or race car, or plane view and the gamer who wants to float above his game piece he is controlling because that gives him the best view. Sim people like complicated controls to the game, and specs for the various weapons. Games just want to not read a manual jump in play

Great mod but i still prefer Mechwarrior 4 over this. The inability to play with joystick+Keyboard pretty much kills it for me. Yeah you can do it you JS but by a very complex and dificult way, and even then it isnt quite right. The mod doesnt have JS support and thats moslty because some graphics addicted retard had the stupid idea of making a Mech sim mod in a FPS...
Get real kids graphics arent everything on a game, unlike most gamers think nowadays... -.-

i have downloaded all the files that keep it up to date but when i try to install the 0.3.2 patch it doesnt seem to take affect and after its installed it says the auto updater is not working

To play the beta you need Crysis Vanilla. The final version of this mod is supposedly going to use 'Crysis wars' which you need to buy the Crysis expansion pack to get. Or you can just buy 'Crysis maximum edition' to get the original aswell as the expansion.
