  • Learning to surf is one of the best decisions you can make in your life. Yes it takes effort, determination and fitness. Get a head start by working on your surfing body and maintaining your strength before you learn - you will progress much faster and wont need the expensive lessons...

  • maan... $150 dollars for 90 minutes class is WAY too expensive... go to Costa RIca or south america and they'll charge you a quarter of that price with first class instructors... Panama and Costa Rica is plenty of well qulified US instructors...

  • UGH SOOO HARD D:

  • @barcalona124 It's so freaking hard you dont even know!

  • does anybody know how put the "nose cone" i don't know if only with resin epoxy or with the fiberglass

    Please! help me!!

  • im 13 and my dad is gonna sign me up for surfing lessons this year and im a little nervous...should i do it?

  • @Katelinanator I can't think of any reason not to... unless you don't have any legs!

  • Stay nice and toasty out there, hard to learn in cold water! Being surf fit before you start is key also.

  • im 9 and im almost a pro i started at 9 at ocean grove in july its and its nearly Aug

and im a pro can you believe that.

  • surfing is extremely easy if u know wat ur doing or ur instructor knows wat he is doing!

  • @barcalona124 Agreed. That sounds an insane amount, esp in the internet age.

  • I think I need more information. Although the best way to learn is to try.

  • Fucking long island? Seriously?

  • george is cute i like his hair

  • @Damnedsoul53 Shut up and surf.

  • typhoon lagoon florida gr8 place to learn to surf as u can control the waves

  • u should just break ur boards shut down ur shop and kill urself

  • kooks

  • first things first. Why dont u teach paddling and sitting. dont take that for granted.

  • Yep. Neither are as easy as people might think. Sitting in fact can be quite tricky and takes some people a while to master ...

  • i took up surfing about 7 weeks ago in cornwall england and i got hooked straight away, its the best feeling when you get a ride and i did my first real pipeline the other day and was amazing. also you can start at any age dont have to be young. SURFS UP

  • im guna start too but, do you think i should start on a funboard or short board?

  • for me i would start with a mini mal board (7ft), you get the length of a longboard but also some abiltity to ride down the side of the wave. Its also easier to catch waves with a longer board. once you learn how to catch waves, break through white water and able to keep your balance then maybe it will be time to upgrade to a short boad. remember that a short board is for expirienced surfers (for tricks). Surfing is a hard sport, requires fitness, balance and patience. hope this helped.

  • depends on ur body lenght.. but i would go for a funboard, not that radical to surf and longer most of the time..

nsp 7.2 funboard is a good board to learn the basics in a year.

  • depends... if you're athletic or a kid and have good balance you can ride a shortboard but my reccomendation would be a fun board so you can catch a lot of waves easily

  • You're going to want to start on a longer, thicker board so you don't lose confidence right away. then you can move your way shorter :) But it also depends on what types of conditions you're going to be going out in..

  • @fabeybaby3, you should definitly start on funboard, im very good now and when i started surfing i got two free boards a shortboard and funboard... i used the funboard till i snapped it on a sandbar then switched to shortboard. once you get the hang of it you can get a smaller shortboard for manuever

  • I went surfing in East Hampton aswell this summer, great waves although i had a hard time on a shortboard.

  • im from honululu

  • Surfing is hard. I went surfing for the first time three days ago on a 6 2 its so much fun though. eventually u will get used to it.

  • try going on a longboard, soooooo much easyer to balance on

  • i live there... stop fighting.. surfing is for fun.. dont matter where ur from. just surf

  • Bra were all surfers fuck nationalities

  • $150 for 90 minutes?! Must be smoking something.

  • yh but thats for a private lesson. like 1 on 1

  • nice wetsuit and expensive too....

  • I am brazilian and the americans dont no to surf

  • The Americans created surfing.

  • nah, the hawaiians created surfing, then we aussies took it to next level

  • Well Hawaii is now part of America, so we get credit.

  • grow up.. don't make everything political.

  • lol this is kinda funny cause I live in LI and I surf for free all over the place

  • i just had my first lessons last sun and hes damn right it may look easy on tv or movies.. but man! its freakin hard.. but real fun :)

  • East Hamptons on LI is some of the most expensive places in the world. 150 for 90 minutes isn't alot to them.

  • shit the bed hu the fuck would pay for that its extortion

  • holy shit. i hope that he didn't spend $150 to go over the falls on two waves.

  • I've surfed for 22 years and now it's so clear that skateboarding the latest designed skateparks is superior. Surfing costs too much travel, too much wait, too much money and too much no surf. Near any big city there is way way way too much crowd making it near impossible and the worst of all attitude animosity over and above any other thing in the world you might do. Surfing today is for people who just like the image because that's all your going to get. Check out surfer fight next

  • Idk what your talking about man. I live in Southern California and for anyone who lives at least 20 minutes from the beach or closer than I do, its the probably the cheapest sport out there. All you need is a board, a body, and a wave. All i have ever spent on it is 150 for board and 5 bucks here and there for wax. But obviously it must be more expensive near a big city like u.

  • Too much Money??? WTF, surfing is the only "Free" sport around.

Buy a Board, a wet suit and if you live 30 min, from the beach, your there.

you gotta pay to skateboard at a skate park.

    The ocean is free Dude.

  • those arent waves!!! looks cold/deserted.. no girls on the beach.. fuck that!

  • damn. $150 for 90 minutes? that guy is gettin screwed. I used to teach - we charged $20 an hour. I know east coast isnt great but they could have showed some decent waves. Those blew.

  • I like men who wear the surfing suit or kind of wet suit.... It really fits their body tightly and i can see the "****" below their stomach! hohoho =D

  • teaching yourself how to surf is better than some other person or else u develop thier habits

  • dude there pro's they didn't even catch 1 fucking wave man and don't say i don't know how to surf cus actually i can

  • haha, i tried surfing.. i have a fear of sharks though.. (i know, i'm a scaredy cat) but how can you overcome those kinds of fears??

  • There is but one solution:

    KILL YOURSELF

  • thanks... what a great solution

  • whoohooo, that must be really scary! if i were you, i would just look at the shark and try to catch the scene, because it is such a scene that wouldn't be experienced by many people! hahaha! =D

  • very funny

  • Just realize that the chances of an attack a extremely low.

A driver has a better chance of getting in a serious car accident then a surfer has of getting nibbled on.

  • fuck surf camps

  • He looks hot surfng!

  • the sound is the best

  • hahahahaha

  • ROfl, you will learn surfing way faster if you eat Bananas, than wacthing this...

  • Insane, i just learned how to surf.. thanks.. >.>

  • gay...like paying for lessons to ride a bike

  • Jeez... What part of California is this???

  • que bosta de onda gordaa...sem falar no toco q essa cara ta surfando ai fica facíl msm..

  • fuck you dude. how would you like it if someone discouraged you from learning to surf. the "idiots" you speak of will likely quit sooner rather than later. you're a bigger douschebag then the guys in this video.

  • er, thanks for the lesson, Ms. Ingles.

  • Surfing!!! I came all the way to California and still haven't tried it yet. I'm so close to the beach!! California is great!

  • Are you serious!?!? Wait ur in SB and you never had a chance to surf?

There are some good spots off carpinteria that are good for beginners to learn.

I should teach a bunch of ppl to surf just to piss Mr. ollila3 off. AHAHAHAHAHHAAH!!
