Lol, they do understand words. I cannot say the word 'Ice Cream' in front of my dachshund, or else he will get all exited and expect to have some ice cream.

Sorry to hear he is passed but nothing will replace those great memories of him. We have one also, named Harley. They are such smart and lovable little children. Ours sleeps in bed with us right behind his Mommas behind and snores away. So cute.

That made my day, so beautiful :) We just lost our dachshund of 13 years....Nothing can ever take the place of these wonderful babies :) I'm sure our sweet Bruno would love to keep your Frank company..He was a grumpy old man too.. ;)

Aww, my dog Cassie died in 08. We had her put to sleep. She was 14 years old and had cancer. The vet said she wouldn't survive surgery :( I miss her everyday. She was collie. I have 2 dachshunds now, Louie & Rosie. They are so adorable :)

saw your video for the first time just today, and loved Frankie. Then I read about his death. I'm so sorry for the loss of that sweet and funny little guy! Several years later, he's still making friends!

Frankie's owner again. Sad to report that Frankie passed away on Oct 16th 2008. He developed a herniated disc that left him paralized. He was a great frined. :o(

It is always sad when a pet dies no matter how young or old. at least you have this video to remind you that Frankie was a happy healthy dachshund who was very clever and was spoilt with snacks:)

breaks my heart. i have almost same looking pure breed dachshund which 11 years old now. she's losing brown hairs and now she has much partial white hairs. my dog is bit chubby so i am bit worried about its health. how old was your dog when it passed away. what a loss. i'm sorry to hear that.

daxies are good dogs...

sometime they are mean, jelous, angry, but they def very inteligent and smart dogs and very very good friends...

when i sick my daxy is always by my side...

We also put our doxie Gidget down for the same thing. :o( on Dec 26th 2009. We still are in mourning her. So sorry for your loss...

@StitcherificGal -- Very sorry for your loss of Frankie. Was a cart not an option ? I currently am owned by 4 mini dashchunds. One of mine is 6 and has ongoing back problems. In time, I will most definately have to send her to the university to have her operated on, or fitted for a cart.

How in the world did you teach him to play dead ? My red one knows several tricks, but I don't think I could ever get her to do this! Absolutely adorable !
