  • i love this song remember ( SHA LA LA LA )

  • yeah 1974 i was at high school girls wearing tartan colthing, the days were osmonds jackson5 girls fighting over there bands happy days lol

  • MUSIC WILL NEVER BE THE SAME

  • I remember in the seventies when The Bay City Rollers were everywhere. I used to go to the magazine stands each month and I'd have to choose wich teen magazine to buy,of course they all had The Rollers in them. They had cheer leaders on their tv. show and fans made chants about them, there were collectable bubble gum cards. Everywhere you looked there they were. For many years as a teen the world had BCR. fever much like Bieber Fever. It was pretty hard to resist.

  • Always loved their music, even now!

  • Don't give a damn if anyone call's it "BubbleGum Music" !!! It's MY bubblegum music, and i love it!!! The one's who make nasty comments are two types of ppl. 1- To young to know any better, or realize they will also one day be missing the "Old Day's" OR 2- Bitter miserable ppl our age, who never got to enjoy their teen years.

  • these were after the beatles THE FIRST POP BOY BAND and in their day (if you look at video footage) where the Take That of the Seventies I am 50 loved them then love them now will love them forever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shang a Lang I am off to see Eric with his band on Saturday a far better band a far more better and experienced singer and songwriter than the Les Mckeowns egotistical and weak effort of a comeback ERIC IS THE MAN !!! ALWAYS WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE !!! LOVE HIM TO BITS XX

  • BCR is the first group I fell in love with. I was only 11 years old then. I felt sad to feel as if they were in the different world, because UK and Japan were very far away then. I began to study English in order to understand their lirics. I am 45 now. Many years have passed, but I have never forgot their songs. They will be in my heart forever.

  • I was never a great fan of the BSR but hearing these songs after all this time makes me smile and think that perhaps that era wasn't so bad after all. It produced some classic songs, bands and many songs are still excellent now compared to what is produced in the 21st Century.

  • @fritzmcd Comments like this one's tick me off. If you ever saw them live, you'd know they could both sing and play music. Also, some of their original stuff was awesome. I think if the hadn't imploded w/all the inner bickering, the fans growing up with them would have continued listening on since their music was 'growing up' too. (Will always love those original numbers!)

  • Remember no way could i ever forget the best singer Les McKEOWN

  • I have always loved this band. I used to have their posters up all over my bedroom wall

  • @suziebaby229 -------------It was either 1974 or 1975 --i was working in High Wycombe and had to leave early one afternoon because hundreds of Rollers fans were blocking the streets near the theatre where they were due to play that evening , it was crazy -- it was then that I realised how big BCRS's were -----I often think back to that particular afternoon and I still love a lot of the great songs they did ---happy days eh ! -----Ed

  • @sinc1ok what is a turd burglars joint ?? seems you know and we don't you a frequent visitor by any chance hahaha

  • Talented that's a laugh ! They never played on any of their records ! And that is not the orginal line up of them either

  • @fritzmcd thats not strictly true. and that is the famous or recognized line up at least

  • @steviep68 when they first hit the charts that is not the line up! The tartan came later I saw them in 1972 dressed in suits lol

  • Such a beautiful sound and their music always brings back the memories of all that was good in the 70s for me

  • @sinc1ok stop hating

  • back in the day they were the biz. was 13 when I fell in love with Les. Such memories. music was fun then. not the rude rubbish that is now, and I agree, why even call up the bcr music if you don't like them. me thinks that certain people protest too much. Maybe closet BCR fans. lol

  • @SuperSpiderlady

Well said, 'SuperSpiderlady'! The BCR's were a talented group who made a series of fine singles in the mid-1970's.

It is true that The Rollers and their music went out of fashion somewhat rapidly - after the phenomenal peak of "Rollermania" in the spring/summer of 1975. But, by God, the pop/rock music industry is a harsh, cut-throat business ...... and The BCR's are by no means the only group to have been huge megastars one moment, and derided 'has beens' the next.

  • Stop it all you haters.....if you never liked them, then don't watch. Those of us who always loved them, and still do, can do without all the nasty comments. Don't you have something better to do?

  • in that year is this production?????

  • What a sweet, fun song!

  • why do people who don't like this bank bring it up and watch it and then say horrible things about it?? don't watch if you don't like it..move on...no need for that kind of comment...there are a lot of bands and singers out there that I don't like but I don't comment on them..sad people I think..just my opinion

  • @quiltprohelen Agreed! Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • They certainly appear to have an interesting 'orientation' However, that is not the crime at all. The crime is the noise that emanates from there mouth and their instruments. If you want to see real trannies.............go to the Slade site here on YT

  • loved them back in the day

  • stop u all for ur nasty comments if u werent a fan in those days) u dont know what u missed those days were HAPPY and full of LOVE ; GOOD TIMES good music

  • im a a boy i never ever seen the histery the lads caused in leeds one it was unbelievable the whole place around leeds olypic swimming pool was a mass with crying screeming girls i reckon these shoul do a take that and demolish them also they were far better

  • HOW ARE YOU TODAY. STILL A PRICK HA HA

  • @rus524 Just to say thanks for defending me ; they also just left another comment for you on here which you wont know about cos they never used 'reply', but it has your name at the start, just in case you want to reply to it ; you cant reply to something you've not SEEN can you ?!!

  • rus its "an" not "a" whenever the next word begins with a vowel its "an" ok??? your stupidity apart..listen if you hate this kinda music so much why the fuck do you come on here and WATCH it?? and dont say i dont watch it i just comment...thats bollocks.

  • @honesto999666444 And whats the point of saying 'rus' at the start of your latest response when you haven't clicked the 'reply' link ; unless he's on here as much as you imply he is, which i doubt, he wont read your comment to defend himself will he ?

  • @rus524 ok you must be about 13...i like the music i dont give a fuck about "allegations" okie dokie????

  • @rus524 yet you keep watching them?? hmmm

  • new mix type in the 3 w-soundcloud-DOT-com/bullet77fh

  • kinkygiraffe - is that true? did the band themselves not get rich, because of the exploits of their record labels? If true, this is yet one more example of how the rich get richer. Geeze, what a crappy world we live in.

  • I have to hear me some Rollers before bed time

  • I believe i heard he has been married 26yrs or more. Anyway i believe he met her and started dating around 1977. They did a REALLY good job of keeping that hidden,LOL. All you have to do is look at Shaun Cassidy to know how quick us teen girls will turn on your a**. He married Ann Pennington (playboy Girl), and his fans turned and ran. ):

  • cute eric smilin woody derek les and alan what scots are all about give a little love take a little love angel baby etc love em all xxx proud to be a scot

  • Today i was at glasgow greens and the bay city rollers were playing there.

  • RIP my beautiful sister Bay CIty Rollers 4ever now eh x

  • So what?

Would that ever take away any of the memories we have ?

  • There are A few videos them performing live from Japan.

  • actually, i know of a concert they gave, look it up, put in the search engine, "rock and roll honeymoon", there is an older one from the 70's, you don't want that one, look for the other one, from the 80's and you will clearly see that they are indeed playing the instruments, and singing. And by the way, if you don't like them, why did you watch this video? they still have many fans, and please respect the rights of those fans to enjoy this group, and i still love them too.

  • That is so wrong if that manager Tam Paton was still alive today send the bike gangs around to get there money i think he would pay.

  • these guys were the very first concert i have gone to and it was in new york i rember oh to well i had lost my shoe that night,,,

  • I think they left amazingly high quality songs, lyrics, and the sounds with a talented singer.guys should listen to their album more.they were not just as a teenage idol for girls.

  • dont be stupid

  • woody as everey girls dream in the 70s

  • Hope you guys get all that's due you after all these years now that your big fat junkie pedo of a"manager" is now where he belongs ! All the best guys from a big fan Scotland.

  • It's TRAGIC the way they were ripped off by such a dishonest man, considering how big they were!....Angry?...Damn right!

  • How were they ripped off?

  • They should be VERY wealthy musicians now,but their Manager Tam Paton Ripped them off, they are now just about scraping a living as I was told anyway!. Les Mc was living in a poxy little flat a few years ago, THAT IS NOT RIGHT! just google BCR's,You will learn how they were ripped off. I recently watched a tv Doc about it,& was disgusted, when you think they had the same adulation as the beatles etc (Not as good though!)Oh,& by the way, I am NOT a fan! but i do appreciate them! They were good!

  • Well can't they sue him? Or is there nothing left to sue for? I think something similar happened to Leonard Cohen

  • I just googled Paton - he's dead, and from what else I read we are well rid of "the beast of Kellerstain" !!

  • Exactly.....Good riddance, especially after what he did sexually to 'certain' band members! : (

  • wha...?

  • I read Arista, their record label has withheld all their royalties since the 70s. Thats an outrage-They were the hardest working band in pop in the 70s. Exploited to the point, that it very nearly destroyed them in the process.. Arista should hang their head in shame! We bought those billions of records because of how fab les, Woody, Alan, Eric & Derek were.

  • See Above....then google bay city rollers! ; )

  • We will always Remember The Bay City Rollers!!! :D

  • Still got a rollers album on vinyl in pristine condition once upon a star saved my pocket money to buy it still love Les McKeown

  • This was the first of four Bay City Rollers Top 10 hits in the UK during 1974.

A great happy sounding tune it still is!!!

  • Alan!!!! I love you still!

  • Issses nich geil die guten alten zeiten waren doch toll lol

  • I second that GinaTX08! Bay City Rollers #1 then, now & forever!

  • Seeing this clip again, reminds me that this is why I fell in love with the Rollers in the Summer of '74! What honey's they all were. So jealous of capstick 8 though, to have actually been in an audience that close rather than with 4000 others at the Hordern in '75! Such happy, happy memories of a sweet and fun loving teen life!. I'm going to look at more clips now....catch ya all!

  • i cant believe that was 33 years ago

  • omg... i was in audience 4 this show... ive just seen myself... wot a great era.... happy days..

  • the roller were brill they made people feel good brings back memories for me

    conquered america to

  • hey miss mariachi totally agree my kids sing along to 'give a little love'

  • Your telling us we are Not True roller Fans? and You know this How????? ( to robbiesailor)

you best have proof to back your claim!!!

  • hi,dear happidaze2 i'm laughing about this, do you remember the boys at school? it was the same fight.

  • Hi Salome63, Yes i recall all the boys with all this.. silly Boys.. They just can't see how great The Rollers are!!!

  • great days, they were really good the rollers

    if not iconic

  • The Rollers ruled the mid '70s!! Like it or not never were so many brilliant tunes encapsulated in a three minute pop record. And that is FACT!! Forget the teen mania and see the Rollers for what they were, a fantastic pop group. It's time for a reevaluation of this band, and about time the were judged for what they were. Comparing them to the Beatles is just plain silly!! And with Les joining them they were perfect. The oroginal singer didn't have Les' charisma.

  • Well said Martley1!!! BCR # 1 always

  • I agree, they were better than they were given credit. I just got some of the music back, and I still love them as much as I did back then, because it's just flat GOOD music. I used to put on the records and sing my head off, my favorite is still "Yesterday's Hero" and "Dedication". Today I listened to the Greatest Hits album about three times. Oh, and I love "You Made Me Believe In Magic".

  • I hope that my comment at least makes people step back and think of the Rollers in the wider context of popular music. I can comment because at 43 I was there in the 70s in the UK at the time the Rollers were popular. Over time they have been derided. But the songs were really great pop songs. They were the blueprint for so many boy bands that came after! In the 70s celebrity culture was almost non existent, yet the Rollers captured the publics' imagination big time. No mean feat.

  • You are so right. I am a french canadian and sometimes I don't find the rights words (in english) to defend the Rollers, but you are doing a great job. Thank you!

  • Yes Thank you!!!

  • That's ok!! Did you all know that it is exactly thirty four years ago this week (Feb 20th 1974) that the Rollers began their big popularity rise in the UK with this song?

  • Nobby Clark didn't sing lead on this as you can clearly hear it's Les singing but I do know that their first hit "Keep on dancing" is not Les at all on the recording.

  • Didnt Nobby Clark do the vocal on this???

  • i seen the orig line up in covent garden and they were reay good had everyone up singin an dancin
