Now that full high definition is here. Maybe a remake of the 5 woman dancers should be Jessica Simpson; Britney Spears; Miley Cyrus; Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.
Another memorable bit from Sesame Street & quite coincidentally showed me a thing or 2 about women in my younger years! Thanks! Busby Berkley must be smiling up there...
You just lost your money. Joe Bratcher is the one who choreographed it. He was in "No, No, Nanette" on Broadway at the time along with these lovely ladies. He chose a few then choreographed it.
When I first rediscovered this skit on YouTube, I was so relieved to finally see it again, I really missed these ladies so much over the years. There was just something about these women that really clicked with me as a youngster.
Thanks for posting this - now both dancer clips are on YouTube! One thing I note - the dancer who holds the number '1' in this clip is the last one to be eliminated in the subtraction clip (just from looking at faces).
And if you look at the rest of the dancers, each girl is holding the number of dancers left after her elimination in the subtraction skit, expect the girl holding the number 5, who got the hook in the subtraction skit.
It was at the tender age of 6 that I discovered my love for great legs decades ago via these dancers :-)

i think it would have been better if towards the end the women should have been barefoot

@its4it How about Katy Perry?

What's the skit that ended before this one begins? I'm sure it's the end of a cartoon I been trying to find...

@MisterBIGM0UTH It's the very end of 'Many Things That Begin with 'I'.' That video is also on YouTube.

I always liked these ladies, especially when we see from above the neat things they make, like the * & the x!

Our generation loves to say that Princess Leia was our first sex symbol, but I think it was actually these ladies.
Even at 4...whoa.

You know, I am going to have to agree with this. Even at 4 I knew I enjoyed watching these ladies.

Actually, got that wrong, it's Joe Bratcher, but the show was No, No, Nanette first national tour playing Chicago not Broadway.

Great video. I bet my money that Patricia Birch may have done the coreographing.

I wish they would come out with this one and
the subtraction one out on DVD

I really like how they put the 1920's/30's nostalgia into this clip as they have done with so many of the other ones.
mel4pat2000 3 years ago 10
Yes these are the same women that are in the
5 subtraction clip. The subtraction clip begins where this one ends.

This was one of my favorites on Sesame Street.

A great song about the number 5. I was hoping I'd get to see this again. Thanx for posting. :)
