  • I was in lower 6th when it came out. It got loads of radio airplay but did nothing in the charts. Top tune.

  • I remember this song so well. i had just come through an unpleasant divorce and met a guy who I knew wasn't a long term prospect but what a lovely summer we had. He restored my faith in men, kindness and hope for the future. Much happiness Geoff wherever life took you xx

  • Great song from a great group who i thought never got true recognition.

  • wow, left school in 96, was learning guitar and this came on the TV. VH1!!! I sang it till my parents said , "STOP, OR MOVE OUT! " Still singing it now in my flat. (This was a dramatization bought to you my me")

  • this sounds improbable, but I found out today the cafe in this video belonged to my bosses mum!

  • John has slimmed down! He is still hot!

  • Remindes me of my first propper girlfriend. In the summer of 95 . used to think of her when this was on the radio.

  • My first trip to the UK was the summer of 96. Reminds me of the trip and all the people I met and have stayed friends with all these years.

  • I remember tape recording this song from Atlantic 252, from the Top 95 of 95!

  • was just watching an old clip of eastenders from 1997 and guest what was playing in the background. i had to youtube the song straight away. dad was in to squeeze back in the day amongst other bands. it really takes me back to when i was a kid.

  • Viking FM in 1996 did its best to promote this song!! Happy memories long live 1996!!!!!

  • That egg sarnie at the end looks delicious!! :)

  • Glenn Tilbrook....gr8 vocalist...squeeze gr8 band....this summer gr8 song all this = gr8 memories...thanks

  • Typical Squeeze.

1995 was the hottest summer in England that I remember. This song would have been number 1 had it had been released in June. It was released late August just as the weather broke and it started to piss down.

  • Love you Glenn!!

  • Haven't listened to this song since breaking up with my girlfriend in 1997, as it always used to remind me of her. Good to hear it again after so many years.

  • This is one of my favourite songs of ALL time, can never find it anywhere and nobody remembers it.. love it

  • check out "some fantastic day", allegedly written for a very good friend of the band, that Glenn lived with in Eltham and she later died, amazinglyrics and for the chap who wanted the correct lyrics in Up The Junction they're "the devil came and took me, from bar to street to bookie" not Barter Street to Boogie!

  • @k8feehily I remember! I know what you mean about no one remembering though!

  • @k8feehily my dad had an album of their's - i used have this played on repeat - i don't suppose he was too happy about me wearing out the cd. lol.

  • love squeeze, great summer song from 96, how happy was i then xx
