My dad and I led the complete rebuild of the locomotive and cars and she has been running great since 2005.
I have been told that the dept of parks and rec is in charge of the train and they make the decisions about it, yet I know for a fact that they did not decide to remove it from Clinch Park. The Bay Front Planning committee decided it did not fit their idea of a multi-generational park and have not said why they think that.
This is the last year for the train. The Bay Front Planning committee removed the train from the Clinch Park plans (construction will start this fall) with little or no discussion according to commissioner Jim Carruthers and Gary Howe. No one else on the Bay Front (T. Michael Jackson, Jennifer Jaffee, Nate Elkins, Michael Borer, Rick Shimmel and Russ Soyring) have responded to inquiries about the train.

You don't have to read the comments. The City did not/is not letting people know about this nor do they have any credible information about the train during the first planning stages. One of the plans will not work for the train and the general public won't know that unless they are told. Apparently you don't have the knowledge to understand this. I put posts up about 3 months ago and only now do you see them

But when you posted them i did not have an account on youtube.So i made one awhile ago but i finnay remembered to come on here and say something to you. And maybe i dont know to much about it i just knew about the 3 new plans and two of them invole keeping the train. The train usually runs between Memorial Day and Labor day. For the most part the train is running between 10:30-4:30. Since the zoo has been closed, it is never sure if the train will operate the next year. So far all has been good.
Nice video. My wife wants to visit Traverse city. Now I have a reason to return, ( I used to live there when I was 5yrs old. 125 E. Tenth st. Cant beleve I can remember the address. What are the Days and hours the train runs? Year round?
