  • I love this recycled book!

  • GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!

  • You're really good at this!

  • Thank you for sharing how to recycle using everyday items in a very precise and neat manner. I've been using cardboard from regular food items in my card making. :)

  • Thanks for the excellent demo. Very neatly done. Appreciate the explanation of the different Mod Podges, too.

  • @leighduncan I'm glad you liked it. If you want, there are also step-by-step written instructions on my blog. Check the description box for the direct link to the relevant post.

  • @PlanetNeptuneLover You are welcome. Thank you for watching!

  • I love this. :) Kermit says it's not easy being green, but this sure does make it pretty :)

  • @fuzzyfishbones In this case. and in this case only, Kermit is wrong because this project is so easy to make. I encourage you to give it a try :)

  • @CreativityPrompt I think I will :) Your tutorial has helped me figure out book binding. I'm an Avid scrapbooker and cardmaker but haven't tried altering books yet.

  • What a cute idea!

  • @vianneylu1 Thanks :)

  • This is a beautiful project. Thank you for sharing! :)

  • @lisjoh Thank you! You are very welcome!

  • nice project, gonna try it, but I have to admitt that I always have problem with the right size of papers to put inside of the book. If you trim it all the same size and put together always the outer paper gonna be smaller than those inside, I never manage to make it look good :/ have you got any advise?

  • @comarta Thanks for watching. When you divide the inner pages between a few signatures, not more than 5 folded pages per signature, than the difference is not that noticeable. Try out and see what works for you. I hope it was helpful for you.

  • great project! I am definetly going to try it! One question though...why do you attach the signature papers in small groups instead of putting all the signature papers together in one group? Does it make a difference?

  • @INVR4GET Thank you.

    It does make a difference.

The "heavier" the signature is, the more uneven it will get because the fold becomes thicker and thicker until it looks more like a spine and because all the pages are cut to the same size, the outer pages are shorter than the inner ones.

In addition, when you insert one thick signature, it only have one fold, so the inside looks a bit funky because the pages are fanning out but there's a gap where the spine is.

I hope you find it helpful...

  • What an awesome project! I love it.

  • @thewishingstar1 Thanks so much!

  • Very nice project. Well done! I really kind of like the look of the thread on the outside binding. I might try leaving it uncovered. Thanks for showing how you did it.

  • @gottahavemoxie1 Thank you <3

  • I really like the way you used the mod podge and the way you used the soap box. It gave me an idea about some sweetener boxes I use. Thanks for sharing.

  • @64bamagurl Thanks so much! I'm glad I have encouraged you to recycle some old boxes. This project is so easy to execute.

  • Very nice idea and it is awesome that you recycled! This looks relatively easy to recreate! Thanks for sharing!

    *gina*

  • @Scrappinology Thanks so much. It is indeed really easy to make, I hope I have encouraged you to go ahead and reuse some old boxes. If I did, I would love to see how it came out.
