do you use one dripper per tank or do you halve the supply to 2 tanks, as you have 2 rows of tanks. Also, do you run the drainiage tubes under the tanks at an angle, as your drawn diagram shows, or maybe I'm looking at it wrong. How much did you spend total on it all? (I can figure out euros to dollars)
@clothaddict I use one dripper per tank and yes, the drainage tubes are at an angle so that the water flows better and faster - I didn't want the dirty water to stagnate as it would start to smell very bad so I designed the gutter-tubes to be installed at an angle. In total I guess I spent around 600 euros but I haven't tallied up the cost precisely so it might be a little off.
@Threlaeburgh it depends. IF you have a tap / switch to modify the flow-rate, otherwise how will the water level stay in the tanks? And if you only allow water to flow out when you open up the switch, then the tanks will overflow. I put my exit holes on the side, as that is the level I want the water to remain at (within the tanks). I'm sure it would be possible (somehow) to design a bottom-exiting system but it might be much more complicated.
@360virus If the drip system is turned off (or if there is a powercut) the water in the tubes just drains back into the sump filter, which can handle the excess water without overflowing. The water in the individual tanks remains in place (up to the level where the exit tube is located).
There is enough room at the top of the tank that if the power goes out, the tank will just fill up to the top with the water. It won't actually overflow and spill over the floor, I've tested it. You need to make sure you use a big enough sump tank that in can handle filling up with all the excess water (about 10-20 litres for my system, give or take). The water stays in the individual tanks, but the water in the tubes will flow back down into the sump filter, which fills up to the top. ;)
I too wish the IKEA boxes were more transparent... it's a shame but the price and size are good so it's worth the money nonetheless.
Good luck getting your bettas, it's always so exciting waiting for the package to arrive! :)
Unfortunately I only know a few words of German. I can speak basic Spanish, some Dutch and French, and now I'm trying to learn Croatian. Maybe one day I'll try German too. ;)
nice for housing multiple bettas and also breeding them

I'm using this system, Few mods, but can I use drippers out the bottom? because I'm making 60 clear ones.

It's really nice but I was wondering what wud happen if u turned off the drip system? And do u use any machinery for the drainage system? Plzz rply

@saphira5000 I got the netting at my local hardware store. It's the kind used on windows and screen-doors (like anti-bug / mosquito mesh).
