  • My Alexandria doesn't get a deep "doom" like yours does! My "teks" are sounding alright...But the "dooms" have a plastic sound...Any suggestions? And when learning how to play this drum, can I learn any drum patterns, or are there ones specific to the Alexandria? Thank you!

  • وع مش منظم

  • is this small or large size?

  • This the the large size (standard)

  • At least call it a GOBLET drum like those of us...

Anyways, it's got quite a few names throughout the middle east. If you're from there you should know this.

    Nice sounding for a Bavly!

  • @isfahani Goblet drum is the most retarded name for this drum... call it it's real name and where it originated from and stop being so fucking narrow minded.

  • @TheListMaker1

I wouldn't go pointing fingers... retarded... pffft. I was quoting another post and responding to it, dumbfuck. Take the time to read the whole of the thread.

  • Nice!

  • at lease call the gobet-drum darbuka like us in the middle-east...!!!

  • is it big or small?

  • looks like the big

  • very nice !!! I have danced to the beat of that drum before !

  • Good drum! Although you have the regular size (I think so) the sound is relatively ´deep´, actually the ´teks´ could be a bit higher. Me personally, I just like mother of pearl drums :D

I´m planning to try finding the best drum in Turkey :D

  • if you want the best darbukas in the world(after turky&egypt)--->seriuslly!, ill tell you a place in israel...

but the prise ishigh cause of the syrian-shell and the hand-made...

  • i just got this same drum a few months ago. sounds pretty good. did you find many imperfection inside the drum where it was spun?

I filled 2 small seperation and it seems to have worked well.. just wondering

  • Only minor holes on the inside near the bolts. Didn't do anything about them. Still sounded good. This problem is very common with egyptian made drums. I'm hoping one day the manufacturer will get off his butt and fix it :)

  • please could u both give more details on the imperfections found int he various darbouks the effects of htese imperfectionas and how u fix them. ne help is appreciated borthers.

    shukran gawee

  • There are holes and filling defects in the aluminum on the inside. The bolts and screws are usually not well aligned with the holes. the metal rim is not well aligned with the body of the drum. The mylar heads are not well built...

  • You got a good drum. Usually people aren't that lucky with the poor quality drums that are shipped to the USA.

  • I had to change the drum head but it's sounding nice now. The drums in egypt or Lebanon aren't any better!!!

  • nice
