@Lievcocijo because some public schools ignore the law and have organized prayer anyway. it isn't against the law to pray in school, just not to get an assembly together and pray- because some of those students might not be christian. also, when children say the pledge of allegiance to the flag daily, they have to say 'one nation, under god'- all american schools have had to do this since the 1950s. some argue these go against true 'separation of church and state' and others disagree.

@Lievcocijo well, it's a democracy where the majority rules. it was christians in government that added 'under god' to the pledge in 1954. for 60 yrs, those two words weren't in it. there's been numerous lawsuits about it over the years, from jehovah's witnesses (who did not want to pledge allegiance to a flag bc they only pledge allegiance to god) to atheist parents...but they've all be struck down. personally, it's just words to me, but i do believe it is technically unconstitutional.

Am I missing something.. but I plugged the number of gun deaths into the populations of the countries mentioned, and... well... Germany, France, and Canada all have more gun deaths as a percentage of population than we do. Germany and Canada by a full percentage point... Japan is right there with us. Only UK and Australia were significantly smaller.
