i'm practicing on steel string i just tie tape on my thum and try not to cut my self. my left hand finger keep hurting for like 4 months...low sting left a mark on my finger like engraving. still hurts. after shower starts to peel off what the is that all about.

hey, in my experience it's a good way to speed up the triplet by doing only 5 beats.

so m-down, thumb down, thumb up, m-down, thumb down

with this way i got the first time an idea how the triplet sounds when played in a fast way.

I know this is a bit late of an answer, but I hope anyone will learn from this message.

I suggest you to do the flamenco triplet slowly (VERY slowly) in the start - and repeat it - Over and over! Until it is "in your fingers", if you understand what I mean. After practising hour after hour, you will realize that you have been playing faster and faster, and after all, you do it just that fast, you don't know how, but you do it :) There is no way to explain it.

@yyoohhaann - yes, most of the action comes from the wrist, so u want to practice/play w/ as relaxed as a hand as possible, that way u can build up your speed....which will come with practice....DONT FORCE IT -- just focus on the relaxaed hand while doing the rasgeado -- hope taht helps a bit! ;)

@yyoohhaann no, don't relax them... you stick your middle and ring fingers out, don't tense them a lot, just enough to keep them stable (kinda not flabby). you pick with those to fingers (besides the thumb), so make sure your index and pinky stay out of the way. the rest is kind of a matter of being able to control it.. sorry if it doesn't make sense, it's kinda hard to put into words without showing an example. try searching the username licknriff, he has a really good tutorial on it.

Cool! The beginning seems so easy... I tried it after I saw your other video on the triplet. It's so darn hard to do it at fast speeds and still sound good! I think I'll stick to learning to play pop/rock/blues for the moment :-)
