@1521joe The rc8te is doing fine,got a couple turnigy 25c 4s 5000 packs for it before winter and snow hit here. Mostly doing plane stuff now but the cars will get some running before spring to probably.
4s enough? I'm thinking of 6s. I just got my RC8Te Kit today. Of course, as many people are doing, I'm putting in the Mamba Monster 2200 in it. what's ur gearing btw? Cheers.
@1carrotcake Really depends on the track probally,4s is plenty for me.. 6s with the 2200kv motor would be ballistic and a bit much though unless you had a huge track. So far stock spur and 16 tooth pinion. Posted a video at the track last month just taking it easy same set up as this video.
@1521joe I just replaced the spur a few weeks ago,with proper gear mesh it should last a long time. The reason it finally stripped was from jumping ramps and landing on cement and the motor screws loosened enough for the gear mesh to get to loose. Im still running the truck with the same set up it had in this video as well and it was clocked at 42mph on radar but i could gear it up a little more if i wanted to probably but acceleration and top end is good for the track and plenty for bashing.
@1521joe On the spur replacement yes.. had the same thing happen a few times landing hard off ramps on cement with my brushless buggy but the motor mount screw loosened enough on impact that it completely backed off from the spur. I would buy the rc8t again for sure. It was this or the losi truggy,losi didnt have a brushless version of there truck and the roller would of cost $700.00+ after adding there e conversion kit. The associated was $400.00 with tax out here when i got it.
hey bro im gettin one of these this summer and i was wondering what steering servo do u use, what lipos, and what charger cause i have never used lipos and if u could give me some tips than that would be great
@STUNTINrockstar JR 9100T,zippy 4s 5000,great planes polycharge4 (charges 4 lipos at once. Make sure you get a lipo charger and follow the instructions for charging,charge at the proper rate and dont over discharge. Lipos are easy to use.. been using them for almost 5 years now.
been using the accucell-6 chargers from HK...i figure china batt china charger :) the thing is actually great! charge 3x2s or 2x3s the accucell8 of course will do 8 cells. for 30-50 bucks you cant beat em!
checked out your vids,looks like similar power. I'll probally set the epa up to 125% next time out with mine and do some speed passes and see what the top end is like on mine to.
i cant find one thats for sale and i want 1 but i dont want to buy the nitro version and convert it to brushless. do they make a electric specific one?
Yes,This is the electric specific one.. Its the Associated RC8T-E(electric version). It comes with the brushless motor mount and battery tray etc. Amainhobbies and all the big rc car retailers sell them.
HI 3D

Any of the major rc forums should have plenty of info on the rc8te and various set ups.

@3DHobbyShopRocks
sounds like the only reason it needed replacing was the motor screws loosened up, wrecking the mesh.
could you recommend this truggy, or if you knew then what you know now...would you pick another chassis?
thanks

@3DHobbyShopRocks
ok man...so your truggy is a nitro conversion right?
do you think the rc8t"E" is a better all round car purpose built for electric, bearing in mind its a 50t plastic spur
1521joe 1 year ago
@1521joe The rc8t-e is brushless ready.. mine is the electric version. If you have any concerns about the spur you could always use a metal one.
