This game is awesome. You guys just don't know how to play it. As ppl have said before me, if you cant aim at something you'll need to learn how to curve the ball by missing the accuracy bar on purpose (just like real life, you cant always shoot directly at thew pin). The putting is still the most realistic putting experience of any game I've played to date.

The games ONLY flaw is that there is no yardage markers, making it next to impossible to know what club to use from the fairway.

My personal best is a -21 on 18 holes. It's not hard at all once you learn club selection and how to fade/hook the ball against the wind. Getting lucky with chip ins and double eagles on par fives help.

I have Wii Sports and NES Golf, and I play the good old NES game 10 times more than the Wii Sports golf. My friend and I made it into a great drinking game too.

this was my first NES game. i have to say, it was OK for its time but it's terrible compared to today's golf games. i agree that the gameplay in this is a tad broken, and my most prominent complaint is that there's nothing that tells you how far the club can hit, and how far you are from the cup.

Tough game but they are way off in terms of how to play this game! I have shot 7 under the

key is to work the ball in relation to the wind left right wind hit it past the whit meter for a draw. and befor the whit meter for a fade! Its all skill and you have to gauge how much by trial and error tough game great game!

This game stunk because of the lack of precision and the bar moves too fast. Just look at more modern Nintendo made golf games and compare them. This game lacked a "REST" feature as well. How far am I from the hole? I don't know. The game doesn't tell you. BS. Put touchy controls with inaccurate cursor and you get crap.

There were better golf games on the NES than this, but they were released much later than this game. This was a launch title, so considering that, I think this game was ok.

Greg Norman's Golf Power on the other hand? Ugh.

I agree with Mas, this game came out in 1985, the same year NES was available in the US. It actually does have pretty good graphics, the islands look like islands and people look like people. Can't say that for many NES games

LOL the original golf, that game was a little bad. But at least it was playable unlike NES Open. But maybe it's just because the emulated versions (on the wii downloads or PSP don't work?) anyhow. Best golf game is ever just on the gameboy (that game was good) or Genesis maybe some Dream course Kirby style on the SNES. Could try new school too. Wow, I feel like I'm part of the series now since this just posted.
