  • that is really inspiring...using a hallucination to get high ground vision...nice.. really nice..

  • I was looking for a good reliable way to beat Terran... then I find this... yea... I'm not going to do this...

  • this is soo cool :D

  • Something I wanted to mention. The Terran player can pull his units out or away to destroy your low ground pylon. Make sure your first zealots/stalkers are at his ramp so when he pulls back, you can march up and break the wall.

  • Damn this is so abusive in other strategies for P too.

  • dude ..

im not that good.. im only platin in 1on1..

and so i expected to see more from the protoss.. when he build what and stuff like that.. and not all the time the terran base..

i thought its a taktick for Toss and not a "If your terran.. you see what to do/not to do" guide..

  • @ImTheMiddlBITCHxO Never type words again. Platin? Taktick?

  • At the end the opponent says - i didnt know there was such a thing (strategy). Me neither.

  • i like how Blizzard updates Starcraft all the time

  • one thing i just noticed that the terran player could have done to minimize the damage... is when he was lifting the fact and star to switch, he should have landed them close to the edge as to block the edge of the pylon for warping in. you cant warp in on top of buildings. And clearly he knew the pylon was there for a cliff warp.

  • This cast is a rip-off from HDStarcraft lol, you really say all the words he said.

  • BTW, the blue terran said "wow so you can do something like this..."

  • funny, how I watch day9, husky, hd, psy, and now you, but I haven't played a minute of sc2. these commentaries are just so entertaining!

  • granted that terran shouldn't go 111 vs Protoss, that hallucinate is the most imba thing i have ever seen. maybe it's just me, but do any diamond players know what we can do vs hallucinated collosus/mass hallucinated units? I feel like ghost isn't viable bc hallucinate upgrade is impossible to scout. am i completely wrong here?

  • @Orion8888 I wouldn't call it imba since it is very expensive to get them out in energy terms. I think you would just need to micro your way around them. They don't do damage so the only thing to worry about is them taking the hits for the real units. The most effective way to use the hallucinations is for sight/scouting, or a bluff. I don't see them being viable in a mass to tank since they don't do any damage.

  • @jaitonbini hmm. true. still seems hard to deal with. and tanks don't work in TvP. At least according to terrans in korea.

  • That build is genius!

  • That build is bad ass. Thanks for making this video.

  • awesome game,,,, hope i can pull that pro shit myself

  • Dope in a good way!

  • Dope

  • @gocelts47 Feel free to browse my other 160 or so videos where I don't pause =) You'll like them more

  • @AhnarisStarcraft You're calm ;O

  • @AhnarisStarcraft

Sadly husky and Hd doesn't do much else than talk about the trivial stuff... They should learn from Day[9]

Nah, let people have their own style, I'd be annoyed if everyone casted like husky did, same with day[9].

    I like variety.

  • @asusvenus I'd hate it if everyone sounded full of themselves, would probably have to stop watching SC2 stuff.

  • @MrMushroomMan

If you're refering to my wording (trivial), I only used that because that other guy used that word. I'm not good enough to consider things trivial^^

  • @AhnarisStarcraft Thanks for pausing the video and explaining stuff that was going on :)

  • @gocelts47 HD and Husky commentaries have a completely different intention than this video. This is meant to be a tutorial while most of HD and Huskys videos are shout casts meant solely for entertainment.

  • @gocelts47 man you would hate day[9] if thats how you're feeling about a 9 minute long video

  • 110 seconds - 80 seconds = 30 seconds.

    30 seconds plus cronoboost = 15 seconds.

Taking 15 seconds off of the research time for Hallucination makes it good and viable now? Gimme a break...

  • @Wesujin while i agree with your reasoning, your math is off. chronoboost makes things go 50% faster, not 100%. so 22,5 seconds.

  • @Wesujin you are not counting something in your calculations. most (if not all) protoss players will not want to waste a cb on something as insignificant as hallucination as it is mostly used to get a phoenix scout.

  • Slightly more then before. I would usually never get hallucination and now with the changes i still wouldnt always use it but i do consider it now as alternative solution for a few things. Shitty tank, good scout

  • @Wesujin

You'll notice, if you look at the tech lab on the starport, that Cloak is halfway done. Every second matters if they've decided to use the 1/1/1 to get a banshee, because (as Ahnaris notes, but you apparently missed) you are unlikely to have any detection at this point. Stalkers can kill the banshee no problem, but not if cloak finishes - if it cloaks and you've committed like this, you're basically ****ed. The twenty or so seconds make all the difference for this strat.

  • @Wesujin

And just for the record, twenty (or thirty, or fifteen, or whatever the correct math is) seconds is frequently the difference between winning and losing for early-game moves like this. In a 15+ minute game, no, that's not as likely to make a huge difference, but for quick play like this, you bet your ass a few seconds can be the difference for whether a strat is viable or not.

  • oGsMC does something similar with hallucinated phoenixes

  • Your voice + dialect is awesome! Nice job on the video(s) as well!

  • I didn't know about u until recently when i saw huskys video about hallucian build. I was blown away by the analysis so here i am.

  • This is the same build i play often against t^^

Mmh but i play it a bit different

    HALLUCINATION FTW ;)

  • The colossi has more hp than a phoenix which lasts longer in battles.

  • who is "she"? i dont get it :S

  • hmmmm in chita position i would rather think its going to be rax play :]

  • What he says at the end is:

Mkaelevil:"Ah there is something like this..." (realizes that this is a new build)

    Mkaelevil:"GG"

    ChiTaPrime: "GG"

  • Great work on the commentary, helps a lot my sucky Protoss play.

I love that's what she said at 9:32

  • I was also sent here by Husky. Husky likes you, so I like you too :D

I happen to be a native Korean, so here's ChiTa's comment about Collosus over Phoenix:

'Before the patch I thought about cliff summoning with Phoenix, but after experimenting I found it's much better to use a Collosus because it also provides aerial vision, and it can tank."

He also mentions phoenix hallucinations to get vision and block mineral lines with FF, and zealot hallucinations to hold zerglings.

  • Been here since before Husky mentioned you!

  • but how do u know that hes going destiny cloud fist build if u can't scout the terran.. what are the symptons for destiny cloud fist?

  • wow 4gate, really original

  • imo the colossus is a much better option than the pheonix because it draws aggro for the marauders rather than a "psychological scare tactic"... so if the terran misclicks or screws up his attack micro then it makes a huge difference in the battle esp. early game

  • Yay, this game needs more 4gates! :/

Anyway, not scouting should alays be punished.

  • Love this strategy!

I hope I will be able to pull something like this off at some time..

  • @5:51

5-6 scvs doing.. nothing? You didn't need that many to repair.

  • Cool tutorial Ahnaris. It's nice to see hallucination finally being used for something other than phoenix scouts. I'm sure we'll see lots of creativity with this spell in the near future.

  • This video should have been titled 'Hallucination + 4 gate cheese', not 'beating the 1-1-1'. We've seen hallucination builds just like this before, and the slightly reduced build time does not significantly change this tactic.

  • I'm sorry, but this is a complete misanalysis of this game. The key factor here was the Protoss failing to see the faked second Barracks, leading to the Terran having so few troops. A 4-gate against 2- or 3-rax with bunkers is pretty easily defensible. Because the Protoss did not see that, he was still content to 4-gate and thus easily broke the Terran's defenses. Forcefields behind bunkers would have easily done the same.

It's an interesting strategy, but this replay doesn't show anything.

  • @arenalt yeah i was kind of confused when he said that he faked the rax, and then in the fog of war toss couldnt see the rax at all :S

  • The point of this build is ..... It is not safe to have only bunkers front base. He didn't mentioning it is for 1/1/1 but more likely front bunkers. Even though you build 3 bunkers in front of your base, this build let bunkers became pieces of junk.

  • Hi, I am Korean, I went Chita's blog and I will summarize what chita says. The reason for colossus is Colossus has much more hit point compared to pheonix, so, It can absorb some damage so it's better than phoenixs. Another suggestion he said is that if you saved up bunch energies in sentries, you can uses hallusination to make for Zealot for meat shield. He also mentions that his first pylon was broken, so his build was about 10sec delayed. and 4 secretary means Korean abbrevation of 4 warpgate

  • Hey, very interesting video, gj and keep em coming. :>

  • I would think that a void ray hallucination would be just as intimidating as a colossus, but also far more plausible for that time in the game. It would greatly increase the chance of the opponent wasting time by shooting it down.

  • Also, Colossi are better at drawing fire from the enemy since marauders and banshees can only attack ground and basically, the hallucination's only purpose after giving vision is to be a meat shield.

  • Destiny Cloud Fist, I choose you!

  • Death to the destiny cloud fist build!

  • I thought it was "destiny" because you have to get the barracks. It is destined. "Cloud" was the starport because of the air units up in the clouds and such and "Fist" was the Factory because of the mighty fist of the terran mech units. or so I've heard...

  • all thanx to husky i guess

  • IMBA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Destiny Cloud Fist have no meaning ^^

Tis just random words that Husky invented in order to make 'em sound EPIC :D

  • i love that people genuinely wonder what destiny cloud fist means

  • What does Destiny Cloud Fist mean? I could guess Cloud and Fist could refer to air and infantry respectively, but what does the Destiny refer to?

Or was Husky just making stuff up?

  • @Peteman12

ye he did.. but it is destiny because you can choose whatever "destiny" of your build that you want.. sense you can transition into everything fairly quickly :)

  • genius strat. Never would have thought of that. But I also don't don't play protoss.

  • That was damn impressive

  • undersecretary core ftw

  • can I get a link to the original picture used for your banner? looks awesome. thanks!

  • Husky didn't send me. I just follow Ahnaris.

  • nice video, and really cool strategy!

First time i've seen your channel, and thanks to Husky for having this video as a favorite so I noticed it :) I'll suscribe to this for sure, seem like you have awesome stuff!

  • not favorite, "liked" i meaN!

  • Also, If "Destiny Cloud Fist" becomes the standard way of saying 1-1-1 in the community, that would be baller also.

  • I play as zerg but that shit is freaking baller. whoever came up with the idea...

  • Wow, that WAS pretty damned cool. Thanks for that Ahnaris. Got any other gems like this?? (Don't worry, I'll do the looky-lou through your channel. I'm not lazy. Hah.)

  • I thought he would need a Robo facility with the robo bay to hallucinate a collossus. Seems pretty unfair just to be able to hallucinate a collosus that early.

  • @m89733 blizzard must have been aware of the possibility of this strategy and thought about this well. so they must have decided that it doesnt affect the balance too much. i still think that toss-players using this will be op untill terran-players come up with a proper strategy to encounter.

  • @AnxiousFly I think it's a fair strat, but only if they have the tech structures to build the units. They shouldn't be able to hallucinate units they can't even build yet.

  • wow, i was gonna thumbs down this video but after seeing the climax,

    thumbs up

  • Comment removed

  • I like how he said "destiny cloud fist build" so calmly and seriously

  • I like how you explain everything in detail

  • can you provide us a written build order of how this was played out?

  • I love this type of analytical casting style. Koreans are truly amazing in SC2.

  • Okay, if they don't break force fields... do they take additional damage from corruptors (as massive)? From immortals (as armoured)?

  • @Blaneblaneman Yes and hallucinations have less HP as well

  • Man i have a question.

I dont play this so much but i know the basics.

But i dont know where the allucination of the colossus come from? how it works?

  • @nefisstoss Sentry has Hallucination skill. Once You click it a list of units appear from which You can choose what unit You want to create. There are: Zealot, Stalker, Sentry, Colossuss, Archon, Pheanix, Void Ray, Carrier. In SC1 You had to click on a unit to make a copy of it, so You actually had to really have that particular unit on the battlefield. In SC2 You don't.

  • @Zielin87 can't make a carrier...

  • @xMidnightxMistx My bad ^^, but that is basicly it :)

  • Ahnaris always reminds me why I've loved this game for 12 years

  • That's what she said =)

  • i just used this.

won 5 games in a row

  • thx this was rlly useful :D

  • god i hate bunkers. they haunt my nightmares.

  • Wow thats impressive thinking.

  • you sound sexy

  • Husky sent me here.

  • your voice aint annoying which means i will sub you xD

  • wat!?!!?!?!?!?!

  • I dont think the 1/1/1 is out of the picture. The terran response was somewhat nubish and I think a good terran could hold through a number of methods. 1) killing the pylon. 2) Not teching straight to banshee without scouting. 3) making the factory & starport a lot earlier (about 2 mins earlier), and therefore killing the pylon with the banshee. The faster fac/port could easily be done if you replay. etc.

  • @itseasy2hack 111 usually gets banshee just after the 7 minute mark look at the timer... u can;t get banshee much quicker but ur right there are lots of ways to answer to this

  • I've subbed to Husky for a few months, and I've frequented your channel. I've officially subbed to you as well and I just want to let you know why I decided to do so now (altho I'd have done it sooner or later):

    1. You said Destiny Cloud Fist - win

    2. You threw in a tactful "thats what she said" and it actually made me luls

    3. You are great at what you do. :D

  • lame. typical 4 gate is better. still, dont forget to get hallucinate later in the game for scouting / intimidation. if you have 4 sentries hallucinate in 4 colossi and go into a battle your opponent may GG or if you win the battle even just slightly, the colossi may make your opponent gg... and plus the colossi soak up some damage too so dont forget to put them in front.

  • Google transcribe audio is gettign accurate

  • husky sent me, and you said destiny cloudfist build so iam hooked now!

  • YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!

i have been dying to see halucination used for something more than to spawn free scouts in an actual game!

also, do you actually reply to responses?

  • Husky sent me.

  • The colossus is not so much for fear, but for the bigger health pool. its harder to kill and still gives the vision of the high ground.

  • best starcraft commentator , and ure getting better with every new video keep it up :D

  • "For wanting to get in from the back side, That's what she said, and uhh take the enemy by surprise."

    lol

  • The reason why google translator doesn't really work when translating Korean in online games like SC2 is because they aren't really writing Korean properly. Sorta like us writing LOL, ur instead of your/you're, and there are some Korean slang/swear words that are not formal in the Korean language.

  • Hearing someone other than Husky say "Destiny Cloud-Fist" made me smile. :)

  • Hey Ahnaris! It's that one kid you played, Fox. I ended up finding your channel through Husky. Good tut!

  • at the end, the blue player just simply said "wow there is such tactic now......" and koreans' gg is also said as "ㅈㅈ"

  • Thumbs Up if You saw this video BEFORE Husky liked it....

...naaaah just kidding... Don't thumb this shit up.... Hate people do that ;-)

  • at the end mikael says:

    exact translation

    "Wow, there's something like this.."

    "gg"

thumbs up so people can see.

  • @ki6eki yea its such a sarcastic statement in korea

    i loled at that

  • DESTINY CLOUD FIST BUILD

    lol husky

  • good idea

  • I gotta say, I like watching you're replays. Not QUITE as entertaining as say...Husky during a battle, but you actually TEACH me more, and one of the big things I want to do is learn to play better and strategies I can use to learn more about the game. Any chance I could get a few lessons to help me out? :P

  • Nice strategy and nice cast as usual.

Ignore the haters, I liked the pauses because this was necessary. It wasn't a normal replaycast, you wanted to explain the strategy. Perfect to throw some short pauses in, if you need the additional time to explain a thing or two.

  • wow. one thing i noticed right away and im new to this channel. Ahnaris actually responds to posts !!!!

  • @boguzkomments Lies, all lies!

I actually get an e-mail every time someone responds ^^

  • @AhnarisStarcraft very interesting strategy i must say i'll have to try it out some time.

  • @AhnarisStarcraft Haha I hope for you that you had the "getting an email with each comment" thingy off in preparation for when Husky uploaded that vid. xD

Wave bye bye to the days your comment sections were manageable haha. ;)

  • very awesome

  • HEY!!! (ouch) whats up everybody...

  • excellent cast

  • no dont tell people how to best this!!!

  • Time to go fuck up some ladder!!!

  • The colussus is more beefy than the collosus, allowing you to use your collosus as an annoying shield due to the aggro if your opponent is not paying attention. I do wish though that an hallucinated collosus can stomp a forcefield. That would open up some more viable pvp strategies. I would like to see someone try to harass with hallucinated dark templar. I wonder if a detector can see if a unit is hallucinated or not.... Hallucinated dark templar can keep your opponent on the defnsive.

  • @alexanderquijada I meant the colossus is more beefy than the pheonix.

  • I like this video, nice to have some add-ons to your usual casting on your channel! :)

  • Everyone hating on Ahnaris thinking he is becoming like Day9. Personally I don't like him that much either, but that is only because he casts the same game twice and it takes up a whole hour normally which is annoying. I like the way Ahnaris Casted this, it helped me learn something that i can know utilize as a Protoss player. Go Ahnaris! Boo the haters

  • I thought this was an HD broadcast but then i heard Ahnaris's voice and thought "YAY!"

  • I will Destiny Cloud Fisted your mom

  • Destiny could fist :D

  • i like the new commentating style

  • good vid.. haven't thought about using hallucination like that =s

    epicness

  • oh god ahnaris going day 9. DISLIKED.

  • Thanks for the video, as you said halluc was used for this purpose for a while, but now can be used as a key part of toss skills. Please post for videos as such so I can get into masters league!

  • i actually always use collossus hallucinations anyway, never thought of using it for this though. Thanks Ahnaris =D

  • Huh.. very interesting build, hadn't considered that one.. danke Ahnaris.. :) <3

  • That's what she said :D

  • Please stop pausing the video for small things. Like the 2nd pause in this cast:"Hellusolation cost 80 sec to finish instead of 110 sec after 1.2 path". It's just one sentence. I see no need of pausing the video to do so -- please ask urself before pausing the replay: Is there too much happening at the moment? Do I have a lot to say that I'm gonna miss something if I don't pause?

If the answer is YES YES then yeh pause. Otherwise I don't see why u have to pause?

  • @vedye oh my what a whinny baby you are

  • @vedye 1. learn to spell you illiterate fuck

    2. What's up with your condescending attitude?

    3. cool story bro

  • how do you chronoboost a group of buildings at once?

  • @dorukanji2 select nexus, c, hold shift, click, click, click, click, ...

  • Dude, it's not mi-CHAIL, it's michael. I'm from sweden and i was like "wtf did he say?"

  • Thanks Ahnaris!!! Anything that has something to do with Protoss strategy against Terran is VITAL to be known worldwide... big thumbs up!!! (man, I wish I like more than once...)

  • Am... Did I miss how it's called even by google translation?

  • thumbs up if know who invented the destiny cloud fist build

  • @firemage928 you fail

  • No-o, no, no. Ahnaris, you're totally wrong. It's Destiny Cloud Fist that is also known as 1-1-1, not the other way around.

By the way, I really like that you picked a replay to show us a new strategy. It's good for both Protoss and Terran. Thanks.

  • I dont get it, how he get that colossus halucination? I never played protoss so pardon me, but you can select what unit of all protoss units you want to halucinate i thought it just creates units randomly like changeling

  • @Aluzcz If you click on the hallucination button, you can choose the units you want (all units except from warpprism, darktemplar, hightemplar, carrier, mothership, observer). In SC1 you have to click on an existing unit to make an hallucination, in SC2 not. You can still make hallucinations of immortals, even if you don't have the production facility or the unit on the field

  • @Benchee91 sup, thx i thought it will be something like that cos i em used to SC1 style... in SC2 i just play zerg

  • @Aluzcz Changeling morphs based on whatever race is closest to it when they enter a certain proximity. When using Hallucination, Protoss can choose any unit it wants, apart from cloaked units. I think you get 4 probes from 1 Hallucination spell too, but idk anyone who would make that.

  • @ozme8053 you could make probes to make your opponetn think they have an economicy disadvantage and make them expand (400 minerals) while you just made a sentry and hallo (200minerals (50 for sentry 150 for reasearch) and 150 gas) you could then attack him when he is weaker.

is a surprise i am still in bronze XD

ps don't quuote me on the numbers

  • @firemage928 Only reason would be late game scouting in a 4v4 or something, but id still make a pheonix if that were the situation. Just doesn't seem practical ever.

  • i sure hope this works against me , tho i scout around the edges of my base since everyone does this

  • Ahnaris, can you give us strategy help with Real Life?
