  • mine mini started first time -12 last winter in england

  • i hate the music!

  • @skills7168 hehe cool, love it or hate it, I'm grateful for your feedback. thanks! music ends around 2:48 just fast fwd .. car starts soon after :) cheers

  • Cool car, cool video, Cool soundtrack. Is it uploaded anywhere :) happy new year from London!

  • Love the classic Mini. My favorite model is the 1995 Mini Cooper S. Beautiful car. And these days, cheap to buy, cheaper to insure and cheap to run. Perfect for the 17-25 year old driver.

  • @MrDeano324 cheap to buy? haha

  • @RoverMini94

Yeah I got mine for £400 second hand off AutoTrader. Pretty damn cheap if you ask me...

  • @MrDeano324 how much work welding did it need?

  • @RoverMini94

It needed some welding at the bottom of the right hand door. And a new clutch. But overall, I was very pleased with the condition and the price.

  • NICE CAR!!! can i buy it!?

  • @chevyslick it was sold, but thanks :) -- see my "shipping henley" video for some on that ..

  • Chris, tighten your fan belt it's a bit loose, then your alternator will operate to it's full potential. Great car.

  • How should the heater heaten when engine is not runnning...erh...

  • @TheSheepherd Most cars generally have either a heater core which feeds off the radiator, or in some air-cooled engines it draws heat from the manifold (which can be dangerous..) in both cases the engine needs to be warm for this to work. A third option is to install a 12v ceramic heater which pumps heat regardless of the engine temperature or even if the engine wasn't running. (not a likely scenario of course, but this is a light-hearted video people can't take too seriously) all in fun! :)

  • been thinking of getting a mini myself, although id most likely get a mk7, but the mk1 and mk2's are great looking aswell :O

Was wondering though, how much do you have do tend to them? I actually want a running car ;) And what seems to be maxspeed and acceleration?

Loads of questions, hopefully i can get some answers :D

  • @MeetMalice very happy to answer questions send me a private message. I'm not quite sure what you mean by Mk7, really there were only major changes Mk1 to Mk4 then subtle modifications (by Rover, for safety mostly) after that. Like any car, tending them as well acceleration and top speed varies wildly depending what you do with them :)

  • @MeetMalice max speed and acceleration, pal its a classic mini not a race car ;)

  • @SAZUKIJC100 if you're not familiar with the Mini's rally and roadcourse racing history (mostly in the 1960s when the car was in full production), you may want to search youtube (or my channel) for classic mini racing videos.. its a hoot seeing these little cars beat the pants off big bore chevys and fords in the twisties - cheers :)

  • @starlord yes i do enjoy watching them rally however he was asking top speed and acceleration and he obviously doesnt know that there not built for that and dont get one if he's not fimiliar with them :)

  • I had a KN type air filter like that on my Morris 1300. It used to run like a pig in cold weather and ice up the carburettor in temperatures around freezing here in the UK, and with the blast of cold air coming through the grille even above freezing point. I changed it for a standard type with a paper element and the car was instantly able to travel around in the cold without cutting out. Plus it actually went better too. In your climate, i'd recommend you do the same.

    Nice car!

  • @trunnions59 thanks so much for the great info, next Mini I have I will try the stock air setup or keep it a SPI/MPI and see how that fares up here in the cold North! :)

  • great mk2 mini im suprised it started but it show that small is mighty and it still lives in that tempature i dont think i would start in that temp :)

p.s i have that keyring for my keys :D

  • Ah yes the 50th Anniversary keyring from Mini Magazine, or the Morris keyring from Mini Mania? They are both great so I put them on those little keys hehe.. I started her up the other day to change parking spots over the ice.. didn't take it out for a drive though, maybe tomorrow...

  • better get it under cover, that wont take many winters without rusting

  • Mine probably wouldn't have started in that temperature, I've got a huge battery and it realy doens't like to turn over below freezing.

  • Ps thats an awsome mk2 :D sounds cool

  • Im amazed the battery had any life in it,even a sniff of cold and my "huey" says no chance :D Poor little things there like a part of the family.
