  • Paulette Goddard is so fine

  • I've watched Charlie Chaplin's films and I can honestly say I have never seen anything so funny and amazing in my life. To make films like this back then, they truly still shine even today.

  • @TaishoAce1001 True! I don't think there's comedy done like this at all.

  • I LOVE Chaplin's films!! It is such a treat when TCM plays them. My Dad used to show the short 1am on the projector in our living room, and I never laughed so much in my life!

  • What one person would dislike this?

  • GRR i was so jealous that he can do really cool tricks skating and every time iv'e been on those i bust my ass so hard

  • Ahahaha, I adore Charlie Chaplin, so funny.

  • a true comedian..he is an icon of hollywood movies.

  • BRAVO!!! What a brilliant & talented man! This is true entertainment.

  • ONE DISLIKE?!

  • Paulette is so damm beatufiful.

BTW, I watched how they made this part, was with an slowmotion camera up to speed for being normal.

  • u r right dude.

  • I don't know what i'm supposed to take from this film at all.

  • @TheKenTerry that's either because you have no heart or no brain.

  • @TheBass2themax

It's a dude skating around. I'm not heartless or retarded for not enjoying it. Don't even act like you know my character from a sentence I typed.

  • @TheKenTerry it's way more than that - you're just either too stupid or too soulless to see it.

  • @TheBass2themax

    What do you see?

  • @TheKenTerry clearly more than you ever will.. and if someone has to tell you, then I really pity you.

  • @TheBass2themax

Exactly, you're just a tool who loves to act like they respect something because it's old.

  • @TheKenTerry: Don't worry, TheBass2themax, TheKenTerry is clearly one of those god-bothering arseholes who can only see value if the film in question talks about some ancient mythology that doesn't matter to the contemporary world. He's unable to digest a bit of film that is whimsy — a step outside the plot — and make sense of it. Clearly he believes, in his god-bothering way, that having a soul and appreciating beautiful moments is not possible if it doesn't involve quoting goddamn scripture.

  • @jigen08

Are you being dead serious? You're pegging and atheist out to be some kind of god-fearing nutcase because I don't find Charlie that funny? Go fuck yourself, you're an irrational tool.

  • @TheKenTerry I wish Americans would stop using the english language - the constant useage of the f..ck word is proof of the lack of knowledge of it's vast vocabulary. Read books to expand your vocabularies instead of watching so much tv.

  • @TheKenTerry most people respect chaplin because he brought comedy and laughter to a world full of people killing each other through world war 1 & 2 as well as through the great depression. not because his films are "old". also no on respects something because its old. tools respect things like that because others do. but hey you're american cant expect much more than a 1st grade education anyway :) at least in your case

  • @yeroc9 TheKenTerry obviously has no sense of culture whatsoever, but must you go as far to say that since he is American you can conclude he is stupid and ignorant? I am American and I'm a little offended, for I adore Chaplin and am an avid Classic Film fanatic (and I am not even 20 yet). There are many, not only Americans, who have no idea what REAL art is in film, like Charlie Chaplin and basically everything from the golden age of Hollywood. Please don't assosiate me with such people.

  • @TheKenTerry you are supposed to appreciate the fact that NO-ONE can equal Charlie Chaplin's originality and genius in movies now and not ever.

  • I love Paulette Goddard´s character in this film....Divine so divine.

    Salutes ¡¡¡

    DS

  • The "hole" is painted onto the floor.

  • @searcherboy wow that's very cleverly done lol i didn't notice before

  • @searcherboy I think they also reversed the film. In any case, very cleverly done.

  • @davidrodgersNJ the film was not reversed.

  • @searcherboy

Close but no cigar, the drop-off is actually painted on a sheet of glass which was put in front of the camera :)

  • Even his type of women was decades ahead of his time.

  • this stunt is crazy to even watch !

  • @OceanicLoveLetters she's got to be in the top 5 of all time beautiful movie stars, amazing!

  • looking for that scene for a while... thank you
