poetry is about self-expression not comparison. The moment we tell a kid like Diego he needs to be more like Frost & less like himself we remove poetry's relevance in today's society. The trick is to teach these kids appreciation for the classics so that their own work is informed... but it's still gotta be them & their style. That's why it's called art
