    -Sei aggressivo,frustrato,maleducato...e ti capisco bene!!!

  • @miaobauaugh caro dottore,cura ti!

  • Why is the sacristan so angry? I know he's not supposed to like Cavaradossi, but this sacristan sounds so villainous. He should play Scarpia!

  • He's voice cracks a bit.

  • I may be well off with this as I don't have the music in front of me but is the Bb and the A after it majorly off where they should be????? Don't get me wrong, I think he is fantastic but it seems off to my ears!

  • @nochain2011 I've listened to this aria performed by dozens of singers and his timing sounds right to me.

  • @spatauser giusto!

  • Does he have to be better than every tenor that came before him, just to be really enjoyable? That seems toohigh a standard for any one to attain. I think he's great, despite that, or perhaps because, he is different from the previous generation of great tenors.

  • colora40 How funny read all these boys who criticize Alagna and other young men .As I wrote before men can`t look young goodloking goodsinging, men.Every woman who has still hormones at right end of body are ready to give him what ever he needs. It helps not much to to carry dead bodys to stages, they don`t sing any moore.Try to lisen who are still alive and enjoi it.

  • @miaobauaugh SONO D'ACCORDO

  • @AleBro83 INCREDIBILE HAI SPEZZATO UNA LANCIA IN FAVORE DI DOMINGO...

  • ha sempre cantato male!Bellissima voce usata male!

  • NO, EL MEJOR INTERPRETE DE MARIO CARAVADOSSI, ES JOSEP CARRERAS

  • @artugons : NO, EL MEJOR INTERPRETE DE MARIO CAVARADOSSI ES FRANCO CORELLI.

  • @31122051 BUENO, EN GUSTOS SE ROMPEN GENEROS, CADA QUIEN TIENE EL SUYO. ASI QUE CADA QUIEN HAGA SU APRECIACION, LO IMPORTANTE Y BELLO, ES ESCUCHAR A TODOS LOS INTERPRETES Y CADA QUIEN HAGA SU CONCLUSION.

  • Placido Domingo is the best Mario Caravadossi for ever!!!!

  • cut at about 1:30 ............. couldnt even sing this in one piece

  • alagna is great but domingo is the best

  • I like him and yes, the opera must go on with the new ones. Voice is different but the variety is the good part in here.

  • My little killer send it to me to express his feelings , his sense and great Love to me !

Romantic are you Tran Xuan Nghia :)

p.s. may be one day you will sing me this aria to me :)

  • tenor di merda !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fuck you

  • he is not singing at all hahaha...

  • This is a great performance ! Not only a marvellous singer but also a perfect actor (and a good looking one !)

    Danielle from Belgium

  • Roberto Alagna is the most charasmatic singer I have seen.

  • It's a shame that Alagna was overshadowed by the Big Three, but he's considerably younger than them. He's a marveolous tenor with all the gifts: a powerful, melodic voice, incredible tone, technique and artistry. He's a great Cavaradossi: this is sublime.

  • Quanto é bello !!! e bravo

  • so the staff of the metropolitan en the scale are amateurs. "that's you're interpretation"

  • Preferisco Lando Bartolini.

  • Why on playback singing?

  • @mikulka73

This opera is actually made into a movie, so that's why. It is not a performance. We have it in our UNI library and I watched it all, it's beautiful, love the costumes, stages and all three singers, Alagna, Angela and charismatic Raimondi, would love to see them perform it !

  • is a master piece!! i love it!!

  • Yes very enjoyable

  • Ouch.

  • i wasnt expecting him to be this good. Was marvelous.

  • he is one of the best tenors of this period.... even if i don't think he has got a good voice... it's not very strong and i got used to appreciate Pavarotti's or Domingo's voice

  • divino

  • Frienze7, look on Amazon; yes it is on DVD. I own it and have viewed this fine production many times now. It's wonderful and his voice soars. I also own a few other of his productions on DVD - well worth the money!

  • Love it.

  • Was this filmed as a production? It can be bought?

  • Yes it can be bought. I got mine on Ebay.

  • e magnifico i m italy

  • radiologu¡is stuppid your coment,

    stupid words.

    brabissimo alagna powerfull voice,brabisssimo¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • WRONG! that "waggle" you are referring to is what we singers call vibrato. :P "a game"? What the heck are you talking about? You should clear your head of the weird voices telling you to write stupid comments so you can listen to a very good performer do something i'm sure you just wish you were doing or could do.

  • SHUT UP baritone !! the tenors singing lol lol :)

  • Aqui entre a alimentar el ego

  • This film is very nice but I agree with 'GermanOperaSinger' that Alagna is good but not great. For me hi is too laboured.

  • i love him he is GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!

    BRAVO ALGANA MAGNIFICA INTERPRETACION¡¡¡¡¡

  • Se dice "Asi sea" ignorante, no sabes nada del Bel Canto, vete a escuchar tu vallenato.

  • Alagna WAS a GOOD tenor. He was never a great tenor. He is just not even that good now, ego got the better of him. Pavarotti was a PHENOMENAL bel canto tenor singing Donezetti, Bellini, and some Verdi, but Tosca? Give me a break.

  • I have to say that you are wrong, Pavarotti sing Tosca very well.

  • Hey Demolition69, I'm with you. The big guy sang Tosca as good as any. Puccini would have loved him. In my humble opinion.

  • sounds good. the lower tones sound strange and the tone is different. but tenors are for middle c and above. good for cavaradossi.

  • Was he a tiny bit sharp at the end?

Ottimo Alagna

  • ...MAGNIFICO!!

  • bravisimo!!!!!!!!!

  • alagna is a great tenor. ppl really need to lighten up about the pavarotti supreme. ther are other great singers other than the late great pavarotti.

  • That is such pretentious and naive comment, as much as pavarotti has accomplished, he does not own music or roles he has sung. and other singers don't have to sing just like him. you can hold-on to your good-old- boy's recording, there are opera lovers have more broad and interesting taste.

  • I totally agree with you chowchow! Even if I adore Pavarotti I can't stand people who compare eeach singer to him and , any female singer to La Callas. First of all, if nobody is allow to sing because it doesn't sing like Pavs or La callas, then Opera is dead. Second I've heard horrible things from Pavs and La Callas. Third they are fucking dead! and the show must go on! and last but not least, Alagna is fucking good!

  • @matthieusarah he is good but I feel that for this particular role Domingo is the best or at least the best I have ever heard. This despite the fact that the first time I heard this role interpreted it was by Pavarotti back in 86 at the Metropolitan

  • You need to learn more about music and the performing arts. Your comments disclose how little you really know!!

  • Jesus Christ guys, on this one too? Give the Pav a rest, this is getting ridiculous. Like, goddamnit people. Light. Lyric. Tenor. Not for Puccini. Not ever.

  • Ruben Dominguez

  • Yeah!

  • Wonderfull!

I feel like a child discovering a-new something that I have forgotten.

    Thaxs

  • 2me ha le vocali troppo aperte...CECCHELE,MARIO DEL MONACO,CORELLI..I MIGLIORI PER SEMPRE

    W CECCHELE...

  • better than many others of his generations

  • Agree...but not in this kind of opera repertory. He is nemorino, romeo...roles like those... not Cavaradossi, Radames, Manrico...

  • I love Roberto and his voice!

  • Not bad. Not my favorite (lack of focus, intonation spots and (imo) an odd characterization), but certainly not the worst I've heard.

  • That was so beautiful. The best I've ever heard out all other tenors

  • exelent perfomance. bravo alagna

  • I bought Alagna's first CD's when they were released, and I thought he was good, but not great. I like him much better now. I like his Puccini, but he is much more elegant in the French repertoire.

  • If someone knows what "well shouted" is pleas let me know. Thanks: Jason

  • whats rong with you

  • i agree. there is no sweetness to his voice. he is poweful though. he sings "through his penis"

  • I'll admit that RA doesn't have the most focused, elegant tone, but it's certainly not "shouting". Listen to him in french repertoire. That's where he seems to shine, if I remember correctly.

  • what dos well shouted mean?

  • well shouted!

  • what dos well shouted ?

  • I just find it very funny you posted the exactly same thing at nearly every performance of this song you don't like; even wondered if you deliberately looked them all up just to post this....= =

  • i posted at 2 and thay are not the same song

  • = = I didn't mean you, I meant the "well shouted!"

  • o.k. im sorry

  • I'm going to see Tosca in May and from what i see it will be great opera.

  • yes, just don't see it where Alagna is singing Cavaradossi or you'll feel that you were ripped off. That was my feeling!

  • Much nicer than any of the much more famous (yet less deserving in my opinion) Three Tenors.

    Verrrrry nice!

  • Really? Better than Pavarotti? Hardly. Domingo I can agree with (never liked him) and Carrerras is only okay, but Pavarotti is the Maestro. Greatest tenor of the last fifty years. Alagna is good, but hardly a Pav.

  • don't really agree with the Pavarotti statement here.....

  • alagna great singing I love his voice it so different. it has that distinguishable timbre like pavarotti had!

  • Very good!

  • Who is singing at the time of 1 min. 12 sec.?

  • roberto alagna.

  • I meant basso singer...

  • blahahaha the answer is Andrea Bocelli is it! Get a grip you twat.

  • uhh, Alagna is one of the best tenors singing nowadays...if you don't like the way he does it, go up there and do it better...I bet you can't.

    Bravo Alagna.

  • I've got the Domingo/Freni recording. This doesn't hold a candle to it. Give me mine every time!

  • nice little break at 0:18

could have done himself a favor and done a retake.

  • opera tenors have their bad nights too but there is no excuse not to act perfectly and Alagna is a great lovable actor,ok he does not have the perfect voice nowadays but who has anyway?

  • andrea Boccelli has an angelic voice and I like him very much but he does not have an opera Tenor's voice that will make an opera house shake!

  • Sounds like an amateur's opinion.

Bocelli has a good voice but he is not capable of singing serious operas, hence you don't see him performing particular arias that are considered to be hard.

  • Very good, but my vote goes to the great maestro, Franco Corelli

  • Listen to Luciano Pavarotti in Tosca, in 1992 at the Met : THAT'S OPERA ! Alagna must improve. He does not hold this aria.

  • Nothing special!

  • While he is not my favorite tenor...he is the best actor...he feels the role.

Favorite tenor? Pavarotti and James Valenti

  • Love the "mad sacrastan" washing the paintbrushes in the background. Loosely interpreted, he's imploring Mario to "paint the heathens, but leave the saints alone".

  • i love this guy, a great example of how ego and talent don't mix.

  • I just love the way his voice cracks at di verse

  • ...why?

  • i love this scene, wonderfull

  • Good but bland...He will never reach the heights of Corelli and others.

If this is 3 stars. Corellis version is 5 stars+!!

  • right! I think so too!!!

  • I disagree, because although Corelli's voice is magnificent, I think Alagna acts the piece far better.
