dub or no dub, this is music from the heart of Jamaica. bassplayer Familyman is a genius, cause EVERY song he played another bassline. only jazz musicians can do this. and on every live show Familyman played a diferent bass line.

in Jamaica called the walking bass. it got its own life. still it doesn't disturb the melody of the song self. fenomenal

It really can't be appreciated by everyone, it is fueled not be melody in the lyrics but by contrasting tones, heaving to light and a fusion of multi riddims using echos etc. It is an extremely powerful adaptation of reggae especially when it can be done live. Actually dub versions often enable you you to hear parts of a song that you never really noticed before!!

Nice...real nice.. I find some of the comments interesting as in some parts of the Caribbean what is called dub or dub music is actually dancehall. Dub is where the the mixing board becomes the instrument the vocals and various instruments are dropped in and out. The sound goes from heavy bass to very thiny using echo effects. The mood creates much anticipation with the bass and drum muted then falling back in following a vocal or strum echo for example.

@BeatlesRGod: A "Dub" version of a reggae song is when the lyrics are removed and all you hear is the instrumental. So yeah... It is a dub version. Go to the music store (if there still is one in your town) go to the reggae section and pick up ANY cd by any artist and look for it to say DUB, listen to it and you'll notice there are no lyrics.
