  • you both remind me of the time in the early 80s, when I was involved with people who were living on the land to start biodynamic farming. I wish you all the best for your adventure! Hopefully, your Spanish is getting better, it will make communication with the locals so much better!

  • where does Angela get her clothing? I really like what she wears.

  • I'm curious if those horses are going to come into your garden for snacks?

  • Give Thanks a Praise!! What a JOY!! Plant it up!!!!! We been doing the same, building beds for our gardens... only thing is the soil you all have looks WAY more fertile in villcabamba!!!

  • I'm really excited for you both. To have started on this path so young, to be self-aware and spiritually awake, how awesome for you. Looking forward to your next exciting instalment :)

  • Good luck with your garden, I hope it brings you as much joy as our garden brings us.

  • ***** :)

  • Ok, so I am giggling like a freak over that guys's shirt: National Pornographic. LOLOLOLOL

  • i wonder if he shook his hand?

  • How fun! I love watching these videos of your new home and country. I think the tractor is a great idea since your garden is so big. Please so a video on the compost areas when those are being made. Is it humid there?

  • Matt and Angela,

This is soooo exciting and inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing your work and your lives! :-) I doubt anyone is sitting in judgement and if they are - that's their problem. You guys rock!

  • BALANCE! Your garden is going to be amazing... we all have to embrace some levels of technology in our lives... watching you on my laptop :) I can't wait to watch your garden grow... I'm starting to amend the soil in my little 12 x 10 plot tomorrow :) My chickens destroyed it over the winter!

  • Don't worry about any criticism. You know what is best for your land. It is obvious you asked for permission and you still felt good about the process, so that is good enough. As someone else commented, you don't have to justify anything. Have a great time and enjoy your new paradise!!

  • I am LOVING these videos about your new home - can't wait each day to see what is happening! I had to laugh about you justifying using a tractor when it took you 3 plane rides to get there!

  • P.S. ANGELA, you skin looks RADIENT!!!!!!!!

  • Looks very exciting to be starting such a wonderful garden on such lucious soil.

It would be VERY strenuous to do all that digging by hand. You have to use a tractor/digger. Or you could get a Plow horse and till the land the old fashion way. The Universe would really love that.

I also think the soil looks so lush and rich due to heavy composting from being a previous RAIN Forrest. The soil looks almost volcanic. Your fruits and veggies are gonna be GOLD!!!!!!!!

  • These are just exciting time for you. I LOVE starting new projects. That is probably why I change my garden space every year.

  • dont beat yourself up about the tractor. That is silly. The end product will be so worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy growing and living!

  • Make sure you put a fence around he compost pits. You won't be able to see them at night. You would not want any people or animals falling in them.

  • Sweet hearts you dont need to 'jusitfy' anything! This is your creation, And using a 'snort' (as I called them) is just perfect, we can appreciate the gifts of the snort, it is part of the process - and thats no differnet than getting into a plane to get there. Dont fret around peoples stuff - You are doing the best, and it will all just be so magickally perfect. xx

  • Cause you will need a tractor!! Bless and talk with the earth, she is your mother, SHE will know and understand - once you get moving - explore copper tools rather than iron - The earth will love you for that.

Think of the tractor like a colonic for the earth!! :) - once its tractored - she will be clear and ready to serve!! magick. So joyous for you xxxxxxx

  • Thank you.

This is a great example for what I want to do somewhere here in the Netherlands or nearby in Europe.

  • @Food4Health1Spirit I'm also in NL! Where are you? (PM me) : )

  • Dear Angela & Matt,

You are so wonderful, beautiful, loving & inspiring, I love, love, love You!

I have been following Angela through the RawReform since 2004 & watching your video for nearly a year now ; I have learnt so much from you both & feel so grateful for your generosity, Thank You!

I was wondering if you could, please, please, pretty please, be so kind as to share with us your skincare regimen, just like you did with your toothcare regimen? It would be so helpful...

    Love & Thoughts xx

  • Angela looks extra pretty here!!

  • i hear ya. at this one farm i worked at we dug the beds by hand and sifted all the soil thru wire and double dug everything and it took for absolutly ever. it was the best way to do it but unless thats yer trip its better to at least use a roto-tiller er something and a tractor if yer doing huge beds. theres an old kaboda that we use at the vineyard where i werk we should start runnin it on veggie oil tho.

  • Is that all you are going to show us you made such a big deal out of the tractor you forgot to show us the end product!! Sob

  • Wish you all the best!

  • Its just dirt its not a persone with feelings a tractor or hands wont make a diff

  • Heavy machinery can compress the soil and make it more difficult for bacterial and plant live to grow.

Soil is much more than dirt, it is full of live, often living in symbiosis.

  • bring on the tractors! breaking up that much virgin soil - by hand - and getting it worked up that deep - would takemuch longer than two weeks - more like four months of intense, physical labour, considering that you still have to eat, sleep, talk and think in between work sessions. and, you still have your business to run ......

you won't get any criticism from me. it's not like you are torturing animals, for crying out loud!

  • <3 <3 <3

  • Owning land and a tractor makes sense.

I have a old Kubota with a diesel motor. It runs on just about anything I put in it. Ran veggie oil in it all last summer. Would never try farming with out it. The dirt there looks wonderful love how dark it is.

Have fun also are you guys still getting a horse?

  • Love the design...look forward to seeing more!

  • I'd trackor it myself too if i was only there for 3 months.

  • I don't understand why it is better to do it by hand? you didn't say in the video

  • @anurre5 Some people do double digging (google) where you aerate the soil and at the same time you keep the layers that have developed. It's much more work so I agree with A&M to do it as they did.

  • tractor is cool :)

  • Awesome! I can't wait to see it!

I'm going to start a small garden this spring:o)

  • Looks like so much fun :)

  • What you are doing with the machines is very practical in the sense that you can start planting right away. Over time you probably don't want to rototill all the time because it messes up the natural layers that develop. Your doing great and we look forward to see what you end up planting.

  • that's so exciting! Are you guys using biodynamic/permaculture practices?

  • Awesome! I'm excited for you two!

  • We've got [permaculture] tips and recipes for TRUE living! whoo hooo!
