I just read an article written at Salon.com which I would direct others who support Media Matters, as I do to read. Although it does slightly agree with FOX, it completely trashes FOX News on pretty much all of the arguments that it has made. It also points out how important Media Matters and other organizations are at countering mis-information put out by FOX News and others. You are absolutely correct, and that is the biggest problem of all!!! It's a question of ethics really. Fox News manipulates lawfully millions of viewers, who think they are credible. I will not pretend I now all the laws, but I have a sense of what is right and what is wrong. I understand the importance of the constitution and all its amendments, but in the end, if it is being abused to ultimately deceive Americans, then it is our responsibility to create a new law to prevent it.

Furthermore, it only applies to profits of $250k or more for an individual or $500k for a couple. In the present housing market it will effect virtually no one.

I just read an article written at Salon.com which I would direct others who support Media Matters, as I do to read. Although it does slightly agree with FOX, it completely trashes FOX News on pretty much all of the arguments that it has made. It also points out how important Media Matters and other organizations are at countering mis-information put out by FOX News and others. The title of the article is "Government Subsidizes Fox War on Media Matters".

You are absolutely correct, and that is the biggest problem of all!!! It's a question of ethics really. Fox News manipulates lawfully millions of viewers, who think they are credible. I will not pretend I now all the laws, but I have a sense of what is right and what is wrong. I understand the importance of the constitution and all its amendments, but in the end, if it is being abused to ultimately deceive Americans, then it is our responsibility to create a new law to prevent it.

Fox on the other hand often leans toward the Extreme-Right which frightens me every bit as much as does the Far-Left. @wogdoggy The truth is we haven't really given alternative energy much of a chance to succeed. Name one area of the united states which is run solely by alternative power sources. If we don't attempt to use more alternative power then we will never know whether or not they can succeed. Oh, and Obama's health care plan is the same one the Republicans presented back in the mid-90's. As for policies created during the Bush era, most of them have not succeeded.

Perhaps it is YOU who needs to google that phrase. It's obvious you didn't. First, it's not a tax on the gross proceeds of the sale, only profit. Furthermore, it only applies to profits of $250k or more for an individual or $500k for a couple. In the present housing market it will effect virtually no one.
