I use Fraps to record, AVISynth with AVS Edit to upscale to 1280x720, then run it through VirtualDub Mod to compress to H264. I use FFDShow's built-in Videos for Windows (VfW) codec to encode with x264 with an AVC profile at 4080Kbps. Then I take the resulting AVI and run it through Smart FFMPEG, a front-end for FFMPEG, to make it an mp4, then use Yamb, a front-end for MP4Box, to Mux the mp4 with an aac file I made by extracting the original audio into a WAV and converting it to aac with CDex.
