Nothing an electron scanning microscope won't be able to image.

People do NOT seem to get the point. Unless the area the data is stored on is completely destroyed, it is completely possible to recover any area that has data on it that is NOT hurt.

One way to completely destroy the data is very high heat on all the platter areas for a few min. High enough heat completely erases & destroys magnetic material.

It will be unreadable, totally.

Another way is completely sanding all the platters!

couldnt you see the test portion of the vdeo? all the sectors tested bad so there was only one thing to do to that drive but to have a train run it over. really you want to give a bad hard drive to someone who cant afford it. all its good for really is scrap metal now maybe a hard drive speaker.

There are specialized companies that claim that can recover data form an hdd NO MATTER WHAT. Give it a shot with this one.

Yes, companies exist that can recover data from some hard drives that have been damaged. They use many methods to attempt this. They can even retrieve some data from a disk after that part of the disk has been re-written by evaluating how strong a bits magnetic charge is (if a bit is now a 1 but it used to be a 0, the charge will be less than it was if used to be a 1 and is still a 1 after being rewritten). However, they can not retrieve everything. Your "NO MATTER WHAT" comment is quite wrong.

Повредить колесо жестким диском из алюминия и дюрали - смешно. Даже если жесткий диск был бы из стали. На рельсе лишь царапины, которые исчезают после прохода двух-трех поездов! никаких углублений нет! Я клал на рельс кусок арматуры (диаметром примерно 2,5см) - в месте наезда он был ровно сплющен(толщина расплющенности около 2-3мм), после наезда первого колеса он вылетел в сторону, на рельсе были аналогичные царапины. Хард - кусок ваты по сравнению с арматурой.

1.В жестом диске не только алюминий (дуралюмин) и т.п. И это не очень смешно.

2.Чугун материал крепкий и хрупкий, в колесе тупо могли образоваться трещины.

Случалось видеть человека с молоточком, бьющим по колесам и прислушивающимся к звукам ???

3.Это огромное счастье, что колеса все твои "сюрпризы" зажимали и выталкивали из под себя, не наезжая на них !!

4.В следующий раз вылетающие останки своего диска нахрен убьют твоего оператора.

5.Рельсы вообще стальные, но и они могут получить внутренние повреждения в случае приличного стресса.

6.Вата хард или нет никакого значения не имеет. Диск то вылетел, и стресс на колеса и рельс определяются временем его ускорения и его массой.

Куча народа, вдохновленная этими кадрами, уже готова класть на рельсы все, что только можно и что нельзя. А поезда бывают разные, и ездят они и 150 и 250 км/ч.

2. Не случалось такого видеть. Чугун метал крепкий и хрупкий, однако вполне выдерживает стресс прохода по стыкам рельсов (до 3см зазора) и прохода по стрелочным переводам. И я что-то не припомню случаев крушения поездов из-за поврежденного/разбитого колеса.

3. По второму харду проехало и порвало его в клочья.

4. Крупный план снимался камерой, которая стояла на столбике. Мы не дураки =)

5. Рельсы... почти 70кг стали на метр. и запас упругости достаточно большой. Видел когда-нибудь как рельс прогинается в месте, где отсутствует шпала?

Don't worry about that, you need much more to derail a train ;) However be careful, a friend of mine put stones on the track and got parts of it in his leg as it exploded under the train's wheel... I don't think hard discs can hurt you that way but just be careful :)
