  • Wicked tune

  • kinnda cool

  • The first live action spiderman, you can't take that away from it. It was a good show but the network did not give it a chance.

  • Even as a kid I couldn't work out how the hell he got so much hair into that costume - did Spiderman wear a hair net?

  • I remember watching this show and we couldn't wait for a live action Spider Man tv show. Looking back now... it was terrible

  • Jive Spiderman!

  • He's Spider-Man... Shut yo mouth!

  • Hey....take me BACK to 1977 ANYTIME folks!!!!!!

It has to be better than this 21st century hellhole we live in now...

  • @ThoughtTraveler True...but the free porn is nice.

  • @ThoughtTraveler I will drink to that :)

  • I had video's or this when i was a kid. i'm 15 now and still like it even if it is old

  • let's face it guys, he looks like the gimp.

  • I remember this!

  • At this point CBS was oversaturated with series about superheroes including this,Incredible Hulk,& Wonder Woman.

  • lollllllllllllllllllllllllll this i got to see

  • I remember as well as the web slinging and wall climbing, Spiderman had an extra super power in this series. The power of 'basic martial arts'. I wish this title sequence was 60 minutes long. I'd prefer that to watching an actual episode.

  • That 70s show Spiderman edition?

  • black people on tv. this is where it all ended

  • this was great tv. and hulk too.

  • i'm searching for this show for a couple of years now

  • Seems like Doc Cock would be a villain in this.

  • Why does the music sound like a porno from the 70's?

  • The actor who played Peter Parker was NOTHING like Peter Parker from the comic book. His performance was a little wooden - no offense.

  • Lmfaoo i can't believe i've never seen this, and the black chick is hot!

  • @blueguy09 actually that's Kim Fields ( the chick that played Regine from Living Single & tootie from Facts of Life t.v. shows) mother.

  • @ellmc95 lmaoo thanks man!

  • Comment removed

  • @olblevins Kim Fields mother.

  • Now I see why they went with Tobey Maquire for the films...this guy probably wanted too much money.

  • As a kid, I LOVED this show. As an adult....that looks God awaful. Was anybody else waiting for Jon Holmes to jump out the shadows?

  • Wow, this is total cheese! Good 'ol 70's...

  • 0:26 Mr. Sparkle doesn't stand a chance against Spider-Man

  • Spiderman is one bad mutha... HUSH YOUR MOUTH! But I'm talkin' 'bout Spiderman!

  • I actually watched this show. IIRC, Spiderman could only shoot his webs once per use. After that, he had to go back to the lab and mix up some more. Incredibly lame show.

  • 'ahahahaha love this gay shyt so funny when he jump's up in the wall amke's a weird sound

  • Stan Lee sucks balls

  • this was one of the best funky theme tunes for a super hero, that and wonder woman lol

  • holy fuck

  • Love the bad porn music theme.

  • good series loved it very much.

  • I think porno was everyone's first thought

  • is this the brady brunch ? XDDDDD

  • Too bad this show never actually felt like a spiderman comic, i think that the new spiderman movies are the best as they really depict what a real life spiderman would be like.

  • looks more like fly man, turned gay

  • When I was young I thought this show was REAL...hahahahaha (i was born in 1974)

  • This is great sex music.

  • funky music,,,yeahhhhhh

  • I love the way that it seems like it takes hours for Spiderman to climb a wall LOL

  • This was a great show.

  • the web shooter is so stupid. why would spiderman have all those powers but not a web power? i mean come on... its webs, the one thing all spiders have!

  • @adamisajoker

    shutup. answers.yahoo . com/question/index?qid=20091226194212AA85WOr

  • retro tv are funny as shit to watch cuz its so shitty, yet so great

  • @AkaRamBaStyLe You mean the look of the Spider Man and cheesy effects, not the bad ass theme music, right?

  • @thoomolong

    Do you need CGI?

  • @thoomolong ehh i meant everything :D

  • Thiis waas a legit television show?????

    cuuz holy shit...

  • Total cheese! But I gotta smile when I think of how I LOVED this when I was 8........

  • I have watched this program when I was a small kid in the 80's. This is pure nostalgia!

  • I know this was in the 70s but i have seen better spiderman costume at the dollar store than this one

  • Spidey did wear a utility belt in the early days of the comics for you young'ins.

  • @JENDALL714

sure?i never saw him with a belt, and i have read reprints of the early comics...(im an old fuck, but not that old;) )

  • The show was cool but the spidey utility belt didnt work for me LOL

  • @kdemonde he still wears one under his costume to hold the spider tracers and spare/alternate web fluids.

  • Idda laughed my ass off if i saw that the guy who play JJJ was apart of this.

  • i wish this series was available on dvd

  • He looks like he's on steroids or some kind of drugs!!! But, its still cool. I prefer the reboot's costume to this.

  • Loved this show as a kid.

Those Raybans under the eye holes? ;-)

  • A great example of an intro that makes you NOT want to ever watch an episode! It looks sooooo bad! Maybe it's so awful its almost good? Quality music though.

  • @khisanth75

You're fucking stupid. That intro rocks. Do you like toby?

  • @Ibringthetruth1 You're fucking inbred. No i don't like Toby.

  • that suit puts the new spider-man reboot 2012 movie's costume to shame

  • excellent theme, this show didn't last long maybe a season but didn't miss an episode.

  • The music sounds like an old school porno

  • @ThEuNkNoWn9999999 Agreed! - the show probably should have been. It would have had a better rating!

  • @ThEuNkNoWn9999999 ha haaa "whaka whaka woa woa, whaka whaka woa woa"... I wasn´t aware that this guy was one of the Von Trapp children in The Sound Of Music.

  • This show was the BEST in the 70s..and why do u ask for such a cheesy show??? 1st off ALL shows in the 70s were cheesy cuz of the music and technology of the 70s and speaking of technology..lol..check out at 0.56 toward the end when Spiderman is crawling up the wall..look at the open window a bit below him..LOL apparently no one told this guy a tv show was being taped and he sticks his head out and looks like "WTH" is this?? The best part is they DIDN'T edit it out!! SEE?? 70s cheese ruled!! :)

  • This is soooooooo funny. I didn't even remember that this existed til mu hubby reminded me. It took looking at this to remind me. Looking at the opening I can see why I forgot....

  • The theme song is the only thing that i miss in that terrible show.

  • i love this great show

  • I'm always reminded of what Cracked.com said about this theme: "The show came out in 1977, back when all the funky vibes and cocaine particles permeating the air made it physically impossible to compose a theme song that didn't sound like it belonged in a porno"

  • lol this is wierd

  • NO CGI-EFFECTS___"BUT A REAL MAN CLIMBING A WALL-1977"

interesting, why cant we do that now _2010

  • @gorillaallstars10 CGI is safer and cheaper in the long run than permits and insurance.

  • absolute shit! a bad version of such a great super hero. but it was the 70s what can you expect.

  • @rehetbutler: You said it, mate. This was not that great, and was even disowned by Stan Lee. But nobody here wants to listen whatsoever, secure in the knowledge that this show should be on DVD-and calling you, me and everybody else who disagrees a ton of names. 'Amazing', eh?

  • Im really digging this music... Its off the hook......

  • i used to watch this & i went to see the film version in the 70`s in a double bill with Herbie in Norwich, Norfolk, England

  • used to watch this when i was a kid...loved it. wouldve loved to have seen nicholas hammond and bill bixby team up for a crossover episode :P

  • Back in the early 1980s I even went to see the film ;-) not so much special effects. In fact it looked pretty much like the opening theme here does. ;-)

  • Nicholas Hammond is very much still alive worked with him a few years back. As far as I know he has never done porn. This series was great real stunts and stuntmen no CGI crap like in the film versions. Brilliant actor and very much in demand.

  • I love his 3' jump at the end. Amazing spider abilities.

  • The Hohner Clavinet made this open theme Funky..

  • the guy who played spiderman died of AIDs from doing 80s porn.

  • IMO the Japanese version is more entertaining

  • When will they release these episodes on DVD?

  • @scidriver: Never-Marvel hates this, as does Stan Lee, who considers this to be the worst adaptation of one of his characters, ever. He has disowned this version, and only cares for the 2002 Spider-Man movie that everybody here on this channel call crap. Therefore, Sony Pictures Television won't be putting it on home video.

  • @Neville6000 Beg to differ with you, you misinformed turd. Sony Pictures does NOT own this version of Spiderman. Universal Television does. And no! Stan Lee and Marvel did not "disown" this series.

You really do need to get a life, you stupid, angry, piss ant.

  • @Actionguy1: According to Wikipedia, Sony Pictures TV does own the rights to the show, since Columbia Pictures distributed the first TV movie on the big screen outside North America. Sony also owns the right to the current cartoon show, the 2001-2002 MTV cartoon-in short, they own the whole movie & TV franchise(s). So no, I'm right-you're wrong. And my 'life' is frankly none of your business; I have a right to speak my mind on this subject too. And yes, Stan hates this show.

  • @Neville6000 "According to Wikipedia..."Shut the fuck up, you misinformed fool. Wikipedia is not always correct. Your'e a an angry idiot who needs to stay in the dark and keep his stupidity to himself.

Go to McDonalds and harrass the employees there, (Oh, wait. You don't have the balls to do that to someone's face, do you?) just quit harrassing people here, you lonely, bitter, misanthrope.

  • Oh, now I know why something suddenly came up! Doug Simpson was Spider-Man!

  • Still better than spiderman 3!!!!

  • @DeckyStrikesBack: Sorry, but not being able to do what Spider-Man usually does (web-spinning) makes this a no-go in my book, as well as Stan Lee's.

  • this shit is weird like dario argento directed it or something

  • be cool if some of thease retro shows came back even if only on dvd

im sure many would buy them

  • That theme is amazing...

  • Am I the only one automatically pelvis thrusting to this song?

  • I like this series and the wall climbing.

I watch this in the Philippines back in the 80's.

I watch i going to buy this on the dvd. But they

selling only the cartoon and the movie on Amazon :-(

  • Even back then, 9 years old in 1977, I hated the web shooter (not two!) outside the costume, no super villains, no Uncle Ben dying, and not enough web swinging.

However, it was better than the Electric Company's version, and at least they had a super hero show on tv.

  • I love this series intro!! Awesome music!

  • I didn't know spiderman was a porn star from the 70's!?

  • @donnaandryan: Me neither.

  • If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This shit grooves. What happened to the groove?

  • damn. with this theme, spiderman sounds like one jive ass turkey

  • @illuminatioracle ROTFLMFAO

  • hmmm i never knew that whenever spidey shoots out his web its makes the SOUND OF A GUN!!! at 0:23

  • The funkiest Spiderman theme EVER!!

  • Love the music then. Reminds me of ol' school porn music meets Wonder Woman meets Stevie Wonder.....

  • who wrote the theme tune?

  • for a 70s show it can still beat most of the spiderman versions out today lol

  • @mikesway23

    exactly.

  • Man this and its sequal were hilerious! In number 2 where he freefalls is hilerious! Love how they try and pass off LA as New York!

  • この頃のスパイダー、最高!!!良かった!!

  • Spider-Man doesn't hurt people here... He grooves along to jazz music until the villains stop!

  • nice, thanks for uploading =)

  • i used to watch the re runs as a child in the 80s. I thought it looked so good but looking at it now...LMFAO!

  • wwyerd

  • seeing this 70's stuff is soo funny! you can tell how much better graphics are nowadays. i mean, this suit got sunglasses on it, lmao

  • shoooo~nuff peter parker getting shaga~lishes with that black chick oooh yeah

  • i like the japanese suit better, cuz it's eyes are like in the comics, this suit has sunglasses on it!

  • scared the crap out of me at 00:03

  • ¡Esta serie es excelente! Buena música, con más actuación y menos efectos especiales falsos como los de ahora...gran recuerdo...

  • Fantástico !!!!!

  • Back in a time when Afros were hip, dico was hot, and Michael Jackson was still black.... we had Nicholas Hammond as Spiderman, and all was right with the world! (calm down MJ fans, it is only a joke)

  • Nicholas Hammond = awesome.

  • Great theme music. That Sax is raging.

  • yea and spidy had to endure the race issue back then too being called names like red-dy and colord spiro trigga

  • search 'spiderman tv show torrent'.

    8 gigs from piratebay.

  • The music almost sounds like the Paramount fanfare.

  • Chip Fields, that's Kim Fields mother. Kim Fields was on "The Facts of Life" and "LIving Single".

  • Good God it's Friedrich from the Sound of Music!!!

  • HAHAHA Nice! Used to love this show as a kid, but the years have not been kind! That 70's jazzy funk theme intro is TIGHT, tho!!!! ;)

  • LOL. Thirty years later and the wall-crawling looks WORSE!

The real stuntmen doing the climbing--coupled with the wall jumps (0:25) make this 70's show more realistic than the new stuff we have nowadays.

    That's just plain pathetic Hollywood!

  • Lying through your teeth dude. Lying through your teeth.

  • @NXSeven: So you want a stuntman to climb a wall and possibily fall 20 stories to his death, all for your amusement? Just because it 'looks better' and is more 'authentic'? Pathetic. The movie gave us the one thing that makes Spidey Spidey-web-swinging! Let's see the Tv show top that.

  • @Neville6000 Seriously, how many movies have you seen where stuntmen JUMP off buildings?! How about drive motorcycles in helicopters?! Asking a stuntman to climb up and down the side of a building is child's play compared to that!

Yeah, I'd rather have QUALITY in a movie. Sorry if you dont feel the same way.

  • @NXSeven: Actually, I think that Tobey McGuire did 'climb' up the side of a building in the Spider-Man movie, and it was shown on the DVD extras that he did. But Rami wanted to concentrate on his web-swinging more that that already overplayed aspect-and can you blame him, Marvel, and Sony Pictures? I don't think so. This show is also deficient in other matters as well; no Aunt May or Uncle Ben, no MJ, and omitting how Pete REALLY became Spider-Man was complete and epic fail.

  • @NXSeven: Yeah, a stuntman is just supposed to jump from building to building to duplicate what Spider-Man does, so that it can feel 'authentic'. for you. I'll remember to tell the widows and grieving parents/family members of the stuntmen that dies for your entertainment.

  • @Neville6000 LOL. Yeah and Jackie Chan has NEVER done anything dangerous for your entertainment. Neither has any of the other stuntment out there. LOL. Geez, melodramatic much?

  • @NXSeven: Not as half as much as you bitching against CGI-you sound like those Luddites that were against films having sound (and without sound, where would we be now?) or any technological discovery of the last century. Whiny much?

  • @Neville6000 LOL. I'm done talking to you... absolutely pointless.

  • @NXSeven: Do all of us a favor and stop wishing for this to be on DVD-IT'LL NEVER HAPPEN. Also, stop being such an anti-CGI purist-it's here to stay. Besides, your mind and body will thank you for not putting them through such stress criticizing the new Spider-Man movies, and you won't suffer a heat attack or a stroke, or both.

  • @Neville6000 You fucking troll! Why can't you ever be anything but negative? This is the very reason no one likes to read your comments, because you never have anything good to say. In that case, why don't you take your own advice and not comment at all, you half wit retard.

  • @NXSeven You're right about Neville6000. He's a retard, so it's like talking to a brick. He never makes a valid point. He has no one else to argue with so he takes his anger out on the internet.

  • 0:54 I love how it looks like Spiderman has been climbing the building since the bottom and regretting it XD

  • And I thought Wonder Woman was awesomely bad in the 70's...

  • whats it issss?????

  • they got an ugly spiderman

  • Was the white woman with the bag Mary Jane?

  • No, Mary Jane wasn't in it i don't think, most were different characters/villains apart from Peter and Jonah

  • Nice funky bass............

  • Nicholas Hammond first appearance on film was in the Sound of Music with Julie Andrews.

  • What!? Actual people and stuntmen?!? Climbing actual walls?!? Looking like they are actually there rather than photoshopped?!?! No CGI?!? What were we thinking?

  • Man, I have no recollection of this at all....it looks shamefully low-budget!

  • i used to love watching this on sci fi

  • LOL this is before my time !!! spidey looks a little lame funny stuff tho!!! :)

  • this was what we had...that's what we worked with! you don't like? don't look!!!!!

  • first of all dude if u really post this i did not once say i did not like it,i said he looked lame.before u reply to a comment make sure u look it over first, and realize ppl are going to voice their opinion.and if u dont like that then maybe u should not post anything!!!!!!!!

  • Spicey' I like!!!!!!!!

  • Wow....I remember seeing re-runs show of the Amazing Spider-Man on the Sci-Fi network years ago. Love the intro theme =)

  • If I recall correctly, Jameson wasn't a big dumb foil for Spider-Man like in the comics, cartoons, or movies. (The guy who played Larry Tate on "Bewitched" was Jameson in the pilot.) I thought the webshooters looked lame, too. I liked the show. When WNEP-16 reran them as part of the 4-6 "Dialing For Dollars" movie, the ads featured Spider-Man removing his mask to reveal that he was secretly John Glaugh, the host. Too funny :)

  • I think the worst part of that costume was his eyes. I like how they kept it red and black like it originally was but the eyes were just oddly shaped.

  • No, that dumbass "utility" belt and webshooter are the worst. There is no logical reason to have those props outside the costume. They can't really work, so why put them out there. The only reason I can think of is the episode where he breaks his tracking device and the episode, "Night of the Clone" where we find out he doesn't have a spare belt, for no good reason.

  • I never said i liked the utility belt. He shouldn't have it. I also hate the webshooter.

  • I never said you did, just that those things are actually worse then the eyes. Which, you're right, are awful as well.

  • I remember watchng the re-run's of this as a kid and playing the Sega Megadrive II game of this! :)
