As an African American this shows how inferior we think we are, instead of building our own we simply want to go into their system and become like them. Propaganda like this is why people like Obama who do more harm than good, thats we Africans/Negroes/Blacks in America will always be 2nd class citizens.
When this documentary was only 18 minutes in, the part about the peaceful "brick laying" at Purdue's administration building, I began to cry. Why? Because I earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in the Midwest and would not have been able to do so without the bravery, dignity, and Black Nationalist loyalty of people like those in this documentary. I thank them with the deepest fibers of my soul, for without their struggles and triumphs, I could not be who I am today. Thanks!
Wow... This was a great documentary! I am proud to be a Black Purdue Alumni & although there is much work that still needs to be done as far as African American presence on campus & African American issues .. I can still say.. I am John Thurman and I am Purdue !!!
This film gave me a sense of empowerment and confidence ... BolierUp !!!
Good job on this! I attended Purdue from '87-'93 and graduated with a MS in Mechanical Engineering. I am sorry to say I believe the quality of education at Purdue does not live up to the reputation of Purdue. Purdue is all about the money, not the education. The faculty are discouraged from putting time and effort into teaching so that they may put effort into bringing in MONEY via research grants. I saw a brilliant math professor dismissed while a complete idiot promoted due to money.
u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste to be saved
Very Very Very well put together. i was very apprehensive about going to Purdue Next year but watching this, i feel much better. Proud to be a Boilermaker. class of 2014!!! yuuuup lol
Man, was that the famous Rev. Hood from Plymouth Congressional in Detroit? I think so. I did not know he went to Purdue with the late Judge Higginbotham.
What's the % of Blacks at Purdue today. Are major cities like Chicago, Gary, Indy, Milwaukee and Detroit preparing students better today than yesterday for the rigors of Purdue? I think not and that is a damn shame!!! Given this rich history and legacy, Blacks should be at least 20% strong at Purdue.
Purdue has a great reputation and its one of the BEST schools in the WORLD. Having a degree from PURDUE is like having a golden diploma that is respected by people all over the world. HAIL PURDUE!!
"Looked up upon" the world as an elite institution of excellence! First and last man to step on the moon- PURDUE graduate..How many people can say their school has its own Boeing 727 and a Boeing 737 parked at its own airport- PURDUE UNIVERSITY AIRPORT. Top ranked engineering, agricultural, management, and the list goes on
