I would suggest feeding your python somewhere other than it's home. This way it doesn't associate you opening/reaching in the cage with eating, thus lowering the chances of you being bitten by mistake. Paper bags work well for babies; I'd go with a tub or separate smaller enclosure with newspaper onthe bottom for adults. All in all this will make your snake more handle friendly.

we'll the pet store i got 2 has rats but if u feed 2 adult mice every 7-8 days u should be fine.... depending on the gurth of your snake ... chicks could work to ....

yah, for an adult or sub adult, i'd say 2 mice every week would be more suitable, but every 2 weeks still won't do it any harm. If you can get rats it would be best, though. I feed small to medium rats to my adults(once every 7-10 days)
