Celine doesn't do a concert unless she can sing something 100% live. She cancelled a number of her Taking Chances tour dates because of illness. She is very proud that way. Only those who don't know her would insinuate she is lip syncing. They apparently don't know she is the best live singer on the planet. Of course it would have to be a lip synch because normal humans aren't capable of the vocal prowess she has. She is supernatural.

All of the FIY era is live for this song. Listen to all three of those ending notes and compare them to the Olympics one. That performance is clearly lipped, while all these are live.
It's hard to say. This one was sung in a lower key on a much smaller scale. When lypsynching you run the risk of technical glitches and what not. It doens't and shouldn't matter, she knocked it out the park here in Memphis and in Atlanta. I don't know. I have seen her live lypsynching and live singing you can't really tell. If you ask me she sounds better live than studio produced. Her voice is a gift from God!

The CD version is missing /one/ riff that is present in the Olympics version because they made final edits before releasing it as a single. It was pre-recorded, and the riff was removed in the single and CD release so that the choir's bridge would go uninterrupted.

I'm sick of hearing accusations that she lip synchs - are we going to start saying that about every person who gives a fantastic vocal performance? People always say the big note in All By Myself is now lipped because she was unable to hold it so long year's ago. Well I saw her in 97" in London and she hit and held it perfectly! If you wanna slag off a lip syncher, simply select any Britiney 'talentless trailer trash' Spears concert clip - Celine is a goddess in comparison to the scrubber!

Celine sang Live at Atlanta, the song was also in a diff key to this one because in the context of a concert this is a hard song to pull off. and she sang this towards the end of the show in memphis.
celine has lipped before, she is very strict with her voice and sometimes is not even allowed to talk so singing is out of the question.
The Olympics are not a time to lipsynch, Celine was at the top of her career and wasn't afraid to sing live.

Fact of the matter is this:
Olympics - Lipped
This - Live
Brunei - Live
London - Live
All of the FIY era is live for this song. Listen to all three of those ending notes and compare them to the Olympics one. That performance is clearly lipped, while all these are live.

It's hard to say. This one was sung in a lower key on a much smaller scale. When lypsynching you run the risk of technical glitches and what not. It doens't and shouldn't matter, she knocked it out the park here in Memphis and in Atlanta. I don't know. I have seen her live lypsynching and live singing you can't really tell. If you ask me she sounds better live than studio produced. Her voice is a gift from God!

The CD version is missing /one/ riff that is present in the Olympics version because they made final edits before releasing it as a single. It was pre-recorded, and the riff was removed in the single and CD release so that the choir's bridge would go uninterrupted.

The actual atlanta olympic performance was lipsynched from the CD! Watch it - it is identical.
This version is lower so she can sing it comfortably live, which is what they should of done for the olympic performance!

lol you are clueless. it is identical because the cd version IS the live version, from which they removed one vocal solo. they took what she sung at the olympics and put it over a new instrumental track. ever wondered why it says "as sung at the olympics" on the cd?

A perfect artist has only become perfect from his/her ability to PERFECT the craft! They acheive that by listening to themselves CONSTANTLY! They MUST hear themselves to play off their own voice and melody and aim appropriately (PERFECTLY) with pitch! The greatest singers in the world are such only because they are even BETTER listeners! The ear and voice MUST connect! There's LITERALLY nothing to perfect when there's a gap!

i adore this song... and i gree with free2bfierce.... you have to have a monitor to sing with ampliphiers and everything else or you can't hear your own tuning..... the best musician can't keep an instrument in tune, including the voice if they can't hear whether or not it is in tune
