I met Duane when I was about 17 and he gave me the end of his smoke. I was sitting on the amp at the side of the stage. That's about 12 or 13 years ago. The Bombs were playin in Dublin, but it was just on a small stage in a packed out pub. I remember keeping the butt in my pocket and then finding it about 6 months later. I took it out and just threw it away cos it was just a cigarette butt. Duanes an absolute legend, but keeping one of his fag ends is a bit stupid, idol or not! Pointless story!

@darknesses Ouch, don't even, I almost feel insulted actually. I haven't intentionally listened to The Offspring since I was 13, that would have been when Splinter came out. Glancing at my CD collection right now Lars Fredereikson and The Bastards, The Nekromantix, Left Alone and Time Again are the CDs that I can see without getting off of my bed. Lower Class Brats is what's playing right now. I don't know what you consider punk, but I listen to what is widely respected by fans of the genre.

@Offspringfan64 I actually went to a Bombs concert a few years ago and met Duane and the band, and they're a completely cool bunch of guys. I had talked to them both before the show, and after the show as I was leaving, Kerry pulled me aside and talked to me a bit, Heiko stopped and chatted, then as I was leaving Duane gave me a hug and thanked me for coming out and wished me a safe drive home. I was shocked.

@Offspringfan64 Back years ago I met Glenn Danzig, and there he was in his all black satanic cowboy garb, and I approached him thinking I was going to be pissed at how much of an ass he was, but he was one of the friendlier people I've ever met.. a smile never left his face, and he was incredibly pleasant... it's weird how people can be the total opposite of what you expect sometimes.
