hay , i used 2 have a pet seagull , he was abandoned as a chick and i took him in , with enough time they let u pet them hold them and when we released him he kept following me 2 school. i put a little blue sticker on his beak so i could tell him apart he would often fly to me at lunch if i was outside, but they have webbed feet so i always had to catch him and if i missed it hurts alot at high speed. They're extremely clever and can be quite affectionate. so its not just for food. theyre great

Nice video. I have one of these "pet" seagulls myself, here in Norway. Will try to catch a video when he comes around. I feed him pieces of bread, cat food and sometimes fish. It's about the same size of yours, and of the same kind I think. Very friendly.

I got back from holiday last week to find I had a squatter gull (Stanley) who sleeps on the barn in my garden and lets me stroke him. It is so bizzare, Im not sure if he has been hand reared or is just retarded but it is the strangest thing. I have many photos and will post a video next week when my wife returns home with the video cam.

@shaunsemails I've seen a handfull fo videos here on youtube where folks are feeding a seagull in very close quarters. You see, I live in Seattle and observe only "urbanized gulls." These SEattle gulls are no afraid of humans, but you can not walk up on them. I know seagulls have a long life span, and are intelligent, and perhaps, can trust humans they are really familiar with. I, too, see the same gulls return to my position, but they wouldn't let me touch them, no way :-)

These gulls will accept food presented to them anytime. Their survival instinct is so strong, the strongest. I seagull call take-in both fresh and salt water....they can live at sea, drinking salt water no problem. I know you say the gull is tame, but it will NEVER let you lay a hand on it. Damn, lucky seagull get's sashimi.

Birds, if they like them, can eat Naga Jolokia or Habanero peppers. Birds don't have capsacin receptors, so they don't feel the burning sensation.

I gave my parrot a Habanero one time and he licked my eye. It hurt so bad lol
