  • i wish this era of music died instead of the 80's

  • @AADITWAPS Ditto. That and the fashion....>_<

  • I swear some 00s bands have a retro 80s-ish sound to the them such as Franz Fernand, The Killers, Coldplay and others.

  • Well come on man, you could not have picked a worse set of people to represent the new age. fucking justin beiber going up against the softest metal band of the 80's is like putting a retarded deaf blind armless kid in a boxing match against mike tyson

  • @DeathDealer655 Oy, the only reason I even included Justin Bieber was because I disliked his fashion sense(particularly that hair....>_<). I just included the fashions of these recent years that in my perspective seemed to be popular amongst the mainstream crowd.

  • @Jakegothicsnake Lol, whatever. He has a lesbian haircut. XD

  • @DeathDealer655 Well, I wouldn't call his haircut a "lesbian" one, but regardless, I agree that it looks terrible.XD

  • 80's FTW!!

  • 80's had more personality...just look at the hair and the crazy patterns. We don't got THAT shit no more. Thats it...its up to me, everyone! I'll bring it all back!

  • @Mr1BILLYBILLYBILLY I'm trying bring some of the 80's back too. I'm trying to bring back the original 80's gothic look. ^_^

  • A lot of the first part was blatantly '70's, .A good example is the image of Sid Vicious who died before the '80's started.!

Also Sabbath really broke up in 1979!

The B&W images of the Bromley Contingent ie siouxsie et al were early '77 if not earlier?

As for the 2000's? All I saw was a lot of fashion styles rehashed from Flower Power Top Shop style and late '80;s Goth styles shrink wrapped package misery from all good student unifrom shops everywhere!

The BMX lad was the only original look!

  • @candisuxxgood Sir(or Madam), I know very well that a good amount of the pictures used here were from the 70's. Did I not mention that in the video description at the bottom of the video???

  • Who's that at 0:17. They look interesting.

  • @TheNaomiengland Well hopefully they're Black Sabbath. That's what googled when I found this picture. I know I maybe mistaken.....I admit I'm not very versed in heavy metal I'm afraid, but I try my best......

  • Easily the 80s was far better...and I missed the 80s.

  • @KISSarmyGuy Me too. I am so sick of this emo/hipster fahion that's going around.....>_<

  • I can't really comment on "Which is better" based on this because it is only a sampling of each and I do like parts of both decades. If it was 80s vs 90s i'd say 80s and I am partial to 80s and believe Iwas born in the wrong decade... and most of the music I listen to isn't so popular.... but much of what was actually popular in the 80s I don't like too... ie George Micheal, Tiffany. I think we tend to only pull from the 80s what we actually like and forget about the rest idealizing the culture.

  • I like how you left this open for discussion and unserstand the comparison. However, I am wondering if it is to say many style are being recycled from the 80's and are now more mass produced? Which is true. And that the youth today are inadvertantly trying to emulate and make their looks "over the top"? Or is is more due to the bands they listen to?

  • why so much emos?

  • @Miksuvain Becuase I find he style to be very common and also commonplace.

  • @Jakegothicsnake okey.

  • 1980 years

  • the 80s was certainly way better for watching people, on the streets..(punk,goth,metaller,rocker,skinhead,ted,pshycobilly,and all the others)...i dunno everyone from the 2000S look really similar to each other...its like theres 3 or 4 templates, buy one and make a couple of adjustments....

  • some one the 2000s kids looked like 80s would not put them in there i saw a few. but yea 80s was way better now adays people care way to much the way they look and allso all lot of the pics of the 80s you say are mid 70s

  • @smackage1015 Yeah I know. There were also pics in this vid that are probably from the early 90's. The style of 80's seemed to have stretched from the late 70's to the early 90's in my point of view. I guess it was just that advant garde. :)

  • And I only listen to 80s, and some 90s bands.. metallica, motley crue, kiss, acdc, and a few more that sound good, none of that pop, screamo, new metal shit, or hiphop, basically what everyone listens to today.

  • @wpwwman Triple Amen.

  • @wpwwman Triple Amen.

  • today is depressing

  • @wpwwman Double Amen.

  • 80s hair, bad ass. now, its just i can't describe it, boring and everything is tecnology. people stay home and dont hang out like they used to

  • @wpwwman Amen.

  • the Goth scene was a lot a better back then... it seems to degenerate every 10 years to a sad level...

80's had bad ass bands.... you have good taste in music by the way...

  • @HerrSpieldose Thanks.:) That maybe true about the Goth Scene degenerating every 10 years, because I think I'm probably the only goth in the county I live, because evryone else my age in my area are either rap fans/gang bangers or emo/indie/scenester/ hipster...>_< The Heavy Metal genre seems to have the opposite effect, bands raising the bar on toughness even higher as time goes by.

  • There is no comparison between 80's music and 00's . today's music is a crap you hearing this from a boy who was in the late mid 80's. in 80's every song was completely different from the other song.in 00's maximum utilization of computer not letting the singers talent come out. sometimes seems nightmare for ears. 80's far better.

  • The 80's hat better clothes. They at least fitted everybody.

  • @TailsPunk True. And their hairstyles didn't suck. :)

  • Can someone please create a time machine so we can go back and stop miley cyrus, justin bieber, and adam lambert from being born? I swear the next time I hear some scene bitch talk about how hard core they are Im going to fuckin lose it. Just because your music has screaming in it doesnt make you tough. You're still a pussy. (Unless the band is Lamb of God. Then you're ok) Rock On!

  • Music from the 80's will ALWAYS be better than today's crap! You're hearing this from myself, a 15 year old.

Siouxsie & The Banshees are definately my favourite band. There are so many great bands and singers from the best era of music, the 80's, like The Cure and Xmal Deutschland.

Where did you find the photo at 3:48? It's great.

  • @VlogKing That warms me little black heart to know that there are numbers in today's teen youth that dislike what is considered "hip" these days. :)

  • I've never seen the picture before at 3:48. It's great, where did you find it?

  • @VlogKing Hmmm.....I don't recall what website I found it, but try googling images of both "kenny morris and john mckay", or you could try searching for thoses two names on either photobucket or perhaps flickr.com.

  • About the only artist from recent years that I listen to and really love is Lily Allen. Rihanna has a few good song too, but I think Lily Allen is one of the best from the last few years and possibly the decade.

However, 80's music will always be the best!!

  • @VlogKing Well I'm not savvy on today's pop music, but I'm glad to know that you found something from this day in age that makes you feel the way you feel when listening to other kinds of music you enjoy. Unfortunately for me, the only band that's not only from this more present era but also from the state I live in is Faith and the Muse.

  • Okay,i was really liken this video till it got to 2000!

  • @amapunker76 Me too. But the whole point of it was a comparison between decades. I know the 80's part was much longer than the 2000's pic because the photos take around and during the 80's looked SO good....

  • Is this the Mission?

  • @TheNaomiengland Yep, the song is "Belief". I liked it because it had sort of a mix of sounds that made it feel very 80's like. :)

  • @Jakegothicsnake You have good taste in music I love the Mission. Do you like Sisters of Mercy?

  • @TheNaomiengland Yes indeed! I also like The Sex Pistols, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Cure, Fields of the Nephilim, Bauhaus, Faith and the Muse, Mephisto Walz, Inkubus Sukkubus, and Nosferatu among others. :)

  • @Jakegothicsnake I LOVE THE SEX PISTOLS I am in love with Sid Vicious I love Siouxise and the banshees as well as Madonna. I love Goldfrapp
