  • science is science

  • It is really nice how science fiction gives a lot of things for us to think about in the near future.

  • ATHEISM IS... SCIENCE FACT.

  • i like that spooky music

  • Todays Fiction is tomorrows fact? scares me when i think of the warhammer 40k sience fiction ... Superhuman soldiers, Inquisiton, and endless war :(

  • I loce how science fiction becomes science fact :):)

  • My contribution to science fiction-key words-levitating plant-YouTube

  • @deloitetouche @chrdann Actually, no. Most of the technology you see in Science Fiction would either be impossible to make, different than it would appear in Science Fiction, or simply inefficient to make if we had the technology to do so. Also, a common theme of Science Fiction is that society stays the same or changes very little (compared to what is expected), even with the revolutionary advances in almost all fields of science. This is the opposite of what is seen again and again in history.

  • what's the sound called from 00:09 to 00:22 sec??

  • @naz0ua That's called a theremin, mate.

  • The history of the future?!?

  • science fiction should describe goals for humanities future

  • Contrary to popular belief Sci-fi fans are a lot smarter than the mainstream gives them credit for....

  • I hate ads

  • the Stargate shows have given me ideas.

  • SF is definately a look to the future, just look at new installment like Galactic Battlefront...I could definately see that being the future...We're not looking for fantasy, that's why it's science fact

  • Great video!

  • i agree.

  • The words he is saying makes it sound like ESA came up with the ISS and other of its "partners'---Was the US (NASA) that went to the various members oif EAS for a joint partnership for the ISS and the British, at the time opted out at the time---and still has not joined with other members for the ISS. Hopefully the Brits will eventually will join the teams for ISS ops.

  • this guy looks like the vocalist of green day !

  • There is no brown bailout. It is a change in labor laws.

  • ISS = Pathetic

  • some of our modern has indeed came abot because of inspiration from sci fi ,

  • Let's dream of travelling to other worlds because that will depend on experts and the other 99.9% of people aren't miserable enough just being broke and hungry, now they can be left behind or put on slaveships. Kidding.

  • there is nothing imposimple if we have idea it always have to be way to reach the goal

  • countries should invest so much more in space travel. Imagine where we'd be today if all the billions of dollars invested in wars and weapons was invested in space technology. it's just ridiculous

  • @sunno666 more than you know goes to area 51 and other place's like that lol you have no idea what your talking about

  • @sunno666 you are right..nobody is going to use these uranium contraptions..now wars are done..ww2 was all glory, but people who fight on 21st century are morons..still there must be nationalism., and modern war must be knowladge,..

  • Today's fiction, is tommorow's reality

  • 赞一个....

  • holy crap they did that shiny light transition sooooo many times, ESA tried really hard with this video, but it just felt like 1994 ha ha

  • is it real? really? no jokes?,,,mmmmm

    i dont think so,,,,

  • Fiction Science

  • Very good, See Book Trailer - Jupiter Europa mision in my chanel..

  • i dont dislike science fiction i like it...as long as its believable and not too far fetched.......but for anyone to say its too important to dislike......sorry but thats just utter garbage.....SCIENCE itself is too important, not science fiction!

  • @TR1PACE5 But thats why its called fiction. Its supposed to create unbelievable far-fetched stituations that leave you awstruct. Science fiction was made to propose ideas that seem nearly impossible yet ideas so amazing they make someone want to make them a reality.

  • Can't believe their's people in the world that dislike Science fiction. It's too important to dislike.

  • dont forget that sci fi is the most awsome thing to exist...

  • Important? lol u dont know anything about literature or movies.

  • Philip K Dicks - Martian stories?!?!?!

does he not mean Ray Bradbury?

and most of the story taking place on a space station in 2001 : a space oddysee...

no it took place on the oddysee... a space ship.

    this guy knows shit.

  • @CyberNeticRodent

Dick wrote a story on which Total Recall is based.

  • maybe human could reach near solar systems within several hundred years in future.

  • If they only came up with those ideas sooner

  • good! now watch: Ataque de Pánico!

  • If you want to see the future, check the Jetsons. Wall television, robots, satillites, family flyers (Moller Industries). Gene Roddenberry contributed in a huge way to what the future would look like. He spoke to the dreamers and scientists at Motorola, NASA, Arthur C. Clark and others to confirm his ideas of the future.

  • Interesting piece of documentary. It's certainly true that we have around us today a lot of things that once seemed like science fiction - so we'd better keep imagining more fantastic stuff!

  • Learn english

  • spanish pleass!!!!!!!!!! español y tambien tenemos derecho!!!!!!!!! nuestro gobierno tambien apoya a la ESA. pues poden tambien en nuestro idiomaaaaaaaaaaaa por favor

  • Before Star Trek, in the late 50's, there was a tv program called 'Science Fiction Theater'. I have the series on dvd and was watching them awhile back. I was only seven when I first watched that show. I was sort of young for it, but even then I loved my sci-fi. However, after watching several of the shows recently, I saw that much of the show became the real thing. Awesome. Science fiction is the history book in reverse. (grin)

  • I've got some of that series on VHS too! Great series!

  • cell phones idea came from startrek. watch the old startrek episodes before cells.

  • One of motorolas original designs for the cell phone was based on the communicator from star trek.

  • mobile phone technology was used by the military during World War II, which was long before Star Trek.

  • Star trek is becoming more and more a reality

  • @jorg243

    for example?

  • why give #1 so many -? his right you know..

  • What a joke, rockets are old technology, and space stations too. Been there done that. Colonising space? not so fast. First we have to survive peak-oil; nothing works like oil, everything works on it. You eat oil.

  • Todays SF is tomorrows Science Fact =D

  • @deloitetouche I sure hope so

  • @deloitetouche

Not necessarily, it's more about entertainment than anything. Those who don't have the brain mechanisms for thinking analytically (usually those who excel at math) are sucked into sci fi and think of themselves as intellectuals after watching a few clips of star trek and God knows what else. Please approve of this message ESA.

  • SF is simply a look at the future now.
