I think Razer is really awesome and one of the best bots there, but I still think it'd struggle against Hypno-Disc. Too bad they never got to fight... ='(

razer only lost on the circuit to pussycat (the first match they lost a wheel, they rematched and lost the wheel AGAIN) and tornado after they put on that stupid cage thing.

contrary to what other people say, i think tornados blade on the cage actually did quite a lot of damage, but without the cage itself razer would have destroyed them.

razer is too good, the wedge + beak is a godly design and they perfected it.

firestorm's mistake as with other robot's is that they under estimate the ramp razor has under its beak. they always seem to want to charge head on against razer instead of taking the rear. clearly razer has a much lower ramp, so it's pointless to go head on against it. one the they should have done is to extend the flip every time they go under the beak, it will push them away each time allowing them to escape.

@deeya Maybe mate but if you watch many of the Razer matches you'll see that lots of robots try and get round the sides of Razer but all Razer does is turn so they end up under the beak.  It's that skid steer system Razer has, which makes it so hard to out maneuver. Just a deadly brilliantly engineered robot, with no significant weaknesses.

People hate on pussycat, yet its beaten/ripped up virtually all of the best Robots.

Chaos 2, Stinger, Razor, Hypnodisc.

fentonjd: Pussycat only beat Hypnodisc by chance, if Hypno had been able to move quicker Pussycat wouldn't have gotten the wheel, which shows one of the flaws in Hypnodisc... Even though it ripped other bots apart... :/

Same with Razor. It's a fantastic design.

Pussycat has given ALL of the top robots a seriously hard time.

Also, the 16 year old david gribble who drove pussycat against razor and hypno disc was a fantastic driver.

Hypno disc is a badly designed robot.

@fentonjd Not all top robots, I remember Tornado taking Pussycat apart pretty easily. And they were very lucky to survive the fight against Fluffy, if only it didn't break down.

I agree, Hypno was over powered and under designed. Those wheels should've never been exposed like that. If they weren't we may have had a new champion for series 4

@F4Dogfighter Razer killing Matilda was a setup. The producers wanted to rebuild her so they told the Razer team to just go nuts and destroy her. They even stuffed the robot full of oil-soaked rags and drove back onto the flame jets so it would catch fire better. Didn't you stop to think why the other house robots weren't helping her?

@StackACat i think you're thinking of series 4, in which pussycat actually hit razer with its blade at the exact moment it got stuck driving forwards. i think it dislodged something inside despite the fact the blade just bounced off. it was the grudge match where pussycat broke one of razer's wheels while it was fully mobile.

Firestorms a great machine, but when you think about it they always got beaten by the best robots when it mattered-chaos 2, hypnodisc, razer, storm 2. Ultimately they just werent quite good enough to go the extra mile.

In series 6 they were both struggling to win matches.

Firestorm and Razor have constantly been improving their machines to keep with the times.

Firestorm in series 7 was deadly. Shame they never managed to win UK championship

They where both ahead of thier time but chaos 2 didn`t have as long lasting co2 as most robots and had a high ground clearence so didn`t get far

hypno-disc was still doing well though he was beaten by the eventuall winner and when he went into the losers melee he was ganged up on i think he would still have got to semi final series 7 and if the draw went his way then grand final
