  • They should bring Luan out to London next year when Katie Taylor win's Olympic Gold and sing our anthem there. Would be brilliant.

  • Great singer, great anthem - but her pronunciation was totally off. Murdered it in fact.

  • if ur irish u will understand

  • @djR1chard Ni Eireannach me ar bith ach tuigim go maith e !

  • @MrPn91 Amen!

  • the irish national anthem is beautiful

  • i wouldn't have erectile dysfunction if she sang that to me every night

  • @ImNewAndHere2Stay You're young to have ED. Are you getting it treated?

  • Iam From W.Belfast In north and we are as much irish as any in Ireland and i believe were the most IRISH .. FREE STATE BASTARDS!!

    tiocfaidh ar la!!

  • @gavinjamespatrick That could be rather true. No need to call anyone 'bastards' though. You just let yourself down.

  • @gavinjamespatrick Then again, a majority of Northern so-called Irish nationalists don't actually want a united Ireland. Don't see how that's more Irish than the Irish who actually live in the Irish Republic and not in the United Kingdom like yourself. It seems it was more about gaining civil rights for northern Catholics than anything else, such as united the island. A majority of your lot are happy to live in a British state. So please don't slag off those who actually live in an Irish state.

  • @snakestraits1 yer an idiot

  • love this. FREE THE NORTH NOW

  • Irish and Proud

  • The queen will someday burn in the hands of the Irish freedom.

  • is she a goat?

  • I suppose getting someone who could actually sing and more importantly, enunciate properly would have cost too much. That was the worst version of Amhrán na bFhiann I have ever heard.

  • how disrespectfl is that, putting on vasaline when the anthem is playing

  • @scoobeemoo Think you'll find he can do whatever he wants during the anthem and is of no concern to yourself.

  • @SpawtAwnProductions i am of course entitled to an opinion

  • It's almost St. Patty's Day...this should set the mood, a lil Gaelic Anthem...

Erin Go Braugh! Love live the Clan Dal gCais! All hale Brian Boru, first High King of Eire!!!

  • my ears are bleeding!

  • Anybody have any tips on the Junior Certificate Exam because I'm doing it this year and am kinda nervous

  • i have a question: do the irish children learn irish (or gaelic?) in school or only english? because it would be very sad if this language dies one day and only the old people remember on it. it's the same here in germany. we have so many dead or almost dead dialekts that only my grandparents spoke and i'm sad i've never learned it.. and gaelic or irish is such a beautiful language!

  • @DalyahArani ya its compulsory at all levels of education except at college/universities

  • @DalyahArani gaelic is irish...gael means irish person in the english language...gaelic is their language...in ireland there are 3 dialecs of gaelic or IRISH in english ...then the gaels migrated to a part of scotland...'scotch gaelic and i think wales..making manx gaelic....(not 100% sure about that name...sorry if im wrong) anyhow..in schools in ireland (the republic) they must take GAELIC (Gaeilge) classes in school until they graduate from secondary school).

  • as well in the north they are tryin to revive the language as the majority of the people are now again nationalist, irish anyhow....they were trying to bring in a bill or it may have passed already that all the information on products be in both english and Gaelic...anyhow, i lived there for quite a few years and north to the south they re very good hearted, fun, lovely people...i hope they can keep their language and traditions even w/mass immigration and american media so big there now!!!

  • @karibe24

Thanks for your detailed answer. At least i know the difference between irish and gaelic now ;-)

Despite the mass immigration and american media i'm full of hope for this language. There are many people all over the world that loves this language and learns it. A few friends of mine are learning it too and speak it almost fluently now. It's such a lovely language and i really hope it never dies or "lose" against english!

  • So proud to be Irish! xxx

  • @ghost234346 accidents happen

  • @ghost234346 Don't be disheartened. There must remain a strong Irish presence in the North if Ireland is to be a United Nation again. By refusing to leave your own land is the best way show the British, the 6 counties are as Irish as the other 26. The British have had there day. Eirinn gu braigh!

  • @ghost234346 to vote for a united republic ;)

  • @ghost234346 YOU LIVE IN IRELAND! I LIVE IN BELFAST , IRELAND. NOT BELFAST , NOTHERN IRELAND.

  • @ghost234346 It's still your national anthem.

  • @ghost234346 here bud, some day the majority of Irish people will live in the same country

  • @ghost234346 Were all Ireland :)

  • @ghost234346 Why do you have to live there?

  • Comment removed

  • @ghost234346 LOL sorry, I meant, but why do you HAVE to live there? Couldn't you move? What do you not like about it?

  • Comment removed

  • @ghost234346 You mean you're not yet 18? Well, in a couple of years you could easily move away, either to the ROI or elsewhere. I don't know Rasharkin itself but NI is slowly improving as the years go on.

  • I am a Turkish, and of course, Turkish national anthem is the greatest National Anthem to me. But, I have to confess that Irish National Anthem in irish language is the one of the greatest national anthems. It is beautiful, i love it...

  • @jsb1cfc No , Bernard Dunne (irish) won

  • poor to be irish forever

  • this really makes me want to learn Gaelic

  • @beardog765

Even without being able to speak Irish, it's easy to sing I hear. You need the right pronunciation. This video however, isn't a great video to learn from.

You wanna lean fluent Irish? Good luck mate.

  • @nicolevins thanks!..I have actually been looking at classes that teach it!,not easy to find in the states

  • this really makes me want to learn gaelic

  • hope that wee feian fucker got leatherd

  • @RFC1CB he didnt, he won, better than any northern ireland scum anyway, wheres ur world champion?

  • I'm terribly sorry, be she doesn't sing very well...

  • @Swequilibrium fuck you you reatrd. the reason you dont think that because she is singing GHAEIL and if you dont like fk off you retard IRA!!

  • @ThePlaystationKing1 Well, I think it would serve some pupose to point out that I am not Irish or even remotely connected to the Island Realms. I have listened to some five versions of Amhrán na bhFiann, and I just don't think she sings it very well.

  • @Swequilibrium Do I care? No Dont Like It Dont Fucking Comment Simple As!

  • @ThePlaystationKing1 If you don't care, then why did you comment?

  • @Swequilibrium I dont care if your Irish and its my natinaol anthem thats why!

  • @ThePlaystationKing1 Your being a fanatic doesn't affect how this girl sings the national anthem. She can't sing. Your anthem is great. This version, however, sucks.

  • @Swequilibrium The girl sings the natinaol anthem the same way all of us does, You for instence is just a rude bitch. If I talked shit about The StarSpalgnled Banner you would react like I did also. So dont say anything.

  • @ThePlaystationKing1 I don't give two shits if you insult the star-spangled banner or not; I'm not American. I'm Swedish. Funny though, that you'd think me to be a yankee. Look, if ONE person sings your anthem badly that doesn't make IT bad. It makes HER VERSION of it bad. If she's your girlfriend or something, I'd get it. But even if she was; she still doesn't sing very well.

  • Ahhh she sings it 'sinne fianna fail' - the original song was 'sinne laochra fail', but then the stupid politicians changed it...

  • Wonderful!!!

  • What strikes me as awesome is the national pride that these country-men & women all have. Every time that this song is sang in Ireland, be it at games or entertainment venues like this, everyone sings along, and I mean virtually everyone. That's national pride right there, my friends.

  • For one of the truths about the many lies told about Germany.

    Google:

The Liberation of the Camps: Facts vs. Lies by Theodore J. O' Keefe.

If you want the facts go to Institute for Historical Review (ihr.org) and click on their archives.

Germany has been lied to and lied about.

  • go maith

  • go maith go maith

  • Wow!Few words are needed. It must be SO inspiring for any group of people when something so emotive is written for their country, team, cause, religion,or whatever defines their group. The men in the GPO for whom this was penned, were obviously roused & drew on latent passion, will & strength to fight for their land, people and way of life. I know it's not the same but,I maintain, Flower of Scotland is the 16th man for SRU team,on St Patrick's day 1990 I think it was the catalyst for the result.FAB

  • it wasnt written 4 the men in the gpo it was written about 13 years before that

  • Yeah, I got that wrong, I think I was trying to say it was between 1916 & 1922 it started to be used more & more as a military/marching anthem, if not the National Anthem I thought it was composed in 1907, but again I could be wrong,it happens regularly, thanks for flagging up my error. (You are looking at a full time job, there) It's always good when errors/ambiguities are highlighted without being rude, thank you. :-)

  • bernard dunne 1 !!!

  • she is a mezzo soprano

  • i have never heard the anthem sang so good by anyone before, well done Luan, to be honest i remembered this fight more for the anthem at the start than the action, both brillant on the night.

  • this was a very noble effort, and well done i may add, of a difficult anthem to sing...bravo to this young women who in my opinion made an outstanding presentation! wow!!

  • Is this Gaelic/Irish? If it is, I say: great! Take care of your native language. May English be your second native language. Irish shall be your first!

And use the Gaelic script for writing.

I as a German know what it means to lose the national script. We abolished the German script (special form of blackletter typefaces) in 1941 and haven't used it since then.

  • love it best version

  • This is my favourite version at the moment.

  • Wow-this just makes u feel so proud to be Irish! It would make your hair stand high on the back of your neck-Luan Parle you never fail to impress!!The facial expression of Mr.Goodall (compere for the fight) after Luan sings the anthem says it all!!Go have a look again!:D The anthem has never sounded so good-Go on Ireland!!Go on Luan Parle!:D One word-WOW (capitals essential):)
