  • Amazing graphics or not, God or not, this is the only member of this game series that captured my attention and memory. Moreover no matter how realistic graphics might be today it is never going to make a game environment any more real than Daggerfall and so I liked how primitive Daggerfall looked; it was charming.

  • Skyrim, Y U NO allow me to ride a horse in a city?

  • Minecraft :O

  • Comment removed

  • Look at Elder Scrolls now..

  • @farasu98 yeah its pretty sad how its taken such a huge step backwards. see ya

  • Having skyrim and watching this...

I'm sure that it was a great hit when the game came out

  • no vsync

  • woow look at those graphics! i have never seen better. seriusly, if graphics are everything ,then go watch movie or something.

  • @gethsoftware obviusly, they are not everything, but, if u have some good graphics that look realistic, they surrownd you into the world... I think they are important for a game, but not everything.

  • invisible bear?

  • elder scrolls 1 and 2 are practically the same, but 3 and 4 dramatic change!

  • im going through the history of the elder scrolls games, because im really excited about Skyrim and want to know as much about it as possible :P anyway im going through everything and how it is like... im on to the second one and i scared to see how shit the first one is going to be :P and i do take in to consideration that its old and a very good game and such, but its funny see how fast games have involved throughout the past years!

  • This game looks epic! and a little bit glitchy... lol

  • came a long way...

  • i hate stuck up lil kids that are born to be with the best graphics and systems and think everything else is crap

  • @GoodMusicRespect I'm pretty sure kids were the same back then when this was state-of-the-art.

  • @GoodMusicRespect I grew up with a nintendo and sega, doesn't hide the fact this game hasn't aged well. Unless it engulfed you when it was released, let alone played it in it's era, it's hard to appreciate older titles without the nostalgia to coat it all.

  • Two legged horse

  • my pc cant handle this game thinking of getting something other then intel//

  • Was this game anything Morrowind? I loved how in Morrowind, you could tell how the developers took time to put secrets around every corner. You would find a note out in the middle of no where just to be awesome. You could find magic items in bizaar places like in treestumps, underwater trapdoors, and random chests that required 100 security. Just knowing that a developer took the time to write a note and put in on the corpse at the bottom of a lake made the game feel strange in a good way.

  • The size technically could have been infinite, seeing as all it is doing is generating random area, and copied towns. The whole 'biggest map' thing is bullshit really.

  • lol bear in the wall

  • yeah it was huge... but randomly generated.. and exploring a repetative, grainy landscape for days doesn't seem appealing.

  • Unbelievable, fantastic graphics at the time. Hahaha.

  • Wow.... The bear was behind the door, so you open'd it and it got forced in the wall ... LOLOLOL horseyy!!!

  • I remember trying to run from one side of the map to the other. West to East. I can't remember how far I got afore I decided that it would take way too long..

  • @ThrobnWood I did the same thing and would up in some dungeon i found for who knows how long. Some one needs to make another game like this.

  • @nikolatesla08 Damn straight! I'd do that in Oblivion. I'd start the game off & plan to walk around the wild, uncovering all the caves, shrines etc., & I couldn't help myself going into one at some point for a quick treasure jaunt, & end up in there for an hour or two!

  • @ThrobnWood the map was to small on the ps3 game imo

  • lol bear in the wall

  • I like the chat system in this Game

I hope The Chat system gets put in a Anougher elder scrolls game, like Oblivion.

  • wow, Elder Scrolls has come a long way :O this game looks awsome

  • guffufu to much lag~~~ graphix to amazing~~ (o.o no realy for some reason i rly lag when i watch any dagger fall video D:)

  • the worlds biggest video game map

  • rip off of ultima underworld you know that right if not look it up

  • Incredible game. I love morrowind and oblivion, but this was the best elder scrolls.

  • Best soundtrack ever.

  • No offence but it looks rubbish, its probably brilliant though plaes elder scrolls v!

  • @Xavilli It's a fucking 1996 game.

  • When was this made, and TES one?

  • so this is where runescape got its music...lol

  • i love daggerfall, is the best game in the story of all videogames

  • They dumbed down the game when Morrowind came out. Its combat system isn't as fun as Daggerfall or Arena where you actually have to slide your mouse to perform attacks instead of just clicking.

  • If we have to make a grade from 1 out of a 200 orcs... What would you guys rate it? And are the lands very different from each other (like Skyrim looks nothing like summerset isle)?

  • Omg the grafics are so awsome

  • YES! lol, the music!

  • @dohyou

    keygen Rule!

  • @Ben85paintball

they are pretty fucked up. but who give´s shit about graphic´s except g-whores?

  • This game has bitchin' music.

  • ive never played this one but im a giant fan of morrowind and oblivio. i went to the offical site to download this but it keeps saying somthings wrong with the download. so i guess ill just have to buy it. it looks awsome tho!

  • @dakotaraypacker This is my personal favorite TES game, and I've own them all since they've hit the shelves starting with Arena in '94. This is the longest game I've ever played by far main quest length alone takes a rediculous amount of time, along with all the guilds you can join. Advancement in the guilds is actually something to be proud about in this game because the sheer amount of quests it takes to advance. It's not like morrowind or oblivion in that its all pre-set missions. GET IT! :D

  • @Pilotstu it looks really fun i was frankly dissapointed with the oblivion length. i beat all the guilds and all the quests (that i know of) all in about two months. even the expansions. but morrowind on the other hand it took me nearly a year to do the same. i didnt even buy the expansions. i tried to buy it from gamestop but then when i got home i opened the case and it just had the original morrowin=[

  • Daggerfall still has great graphics. I'll get back into it after I finish getting Oblivion and Morrowind fix. Great video.

  • dd shitting that horse hurt man? (joke)

  • How did you record this Video ? If you used DosBox Video Capture, how come its not lagging, mine always lags like crazy if I record with the Ctrl+Alt+F5 Option.... Any idea how to fix this?

  • Yay! You can ride horses in cities!

Why did they not have that in Oblivion?

  • @Recorderman I'm sure there are mods out there that allow it, simply by changing the cell boundaries and removing city gates

  • gotta love the classics

  • nice music

  • lol "Its a bear!"

  • i started laughing when he rode the horse

  • Each Elder Scrolls game has the best music, I've only played Morrowind and Oblivion but i've heard the first ones' music now and it's still awesome.

  • where can i get the sound track,i cant find it on itunes.

  • The music crash my ears >.<

  • this game looks really epic. especially the music.

  • Teleemahn i can't get in to The Ashham residence, the door wont open. It just tells me something like this ; this door has nothing to fear from you. So what i need to do? (im noob in this game =)

  • @Finnishboy3 Try an open spell or busting it open with a weapon (I am also not very good at this game but it seems to work for me most of the time)

  • Shit man if there are horses in elder scrolls 2 daggerfall why aren't there any in morrowind

  • was that bear invisible ??

  • im sorry i had a laps in judgement for a few x.x

  • I read that this was the largest game ever made!

  • omg this music is horrendous

  • weird how the horse just jumps up under your balls like that.

  • this has actualy the largest game world ever if i am not wrong its around 100 cubic kilometers

  • @folgoraEX 60.000 miles :)

  • @folgoraEX well it isnt that much of a memory or performance taking task to create a 100 km^3 world with doom 2 graphics

  • Music in this game is phenomenal

  • 1:13

Does riding a horse do, well, anything? It looked to me like you walked faster.

  • @letsgetsomeshoes1239 It does if your character's running skill isn't too good.

It can also be a mark of a skilled character (not always)- for instance, If the player has worked up

his/her run skill alot, they can run faster then a horse.

  • morrowing is 10 square miles That is fucking ridiculous

oblivion is 16 square miles It has 15,000 locations

this game is 62,394 square miles And over 750,000 unique NPCs

according to wikipedia If you go through one location a day it would take you over 40 years to play through all locations supposedly the dungeons are massive too.

  • @lennonzb654 idiot your reading it all wrong! oblivion is NOT 16 miles its 1/3 the size of morrowind and it WILL NOT TAKE 40 YEARS

  • @MsGameGod No, Oblivion is bigger than Morrowind actually.

  • I guess the game was pretty epic in it's time. :)

  • The main thing I don't like about this game is the music.

  • How did a bear get stuck in someones house like that? In a town?.... Cool game though.

  • Im sorry and I know some ppl like it but....this is so damn old Id get pissed off and turn off the game.

  • The game really reminds me of the Might & Magic series (which i loved), will give this a go now myself

  • Bear's wearing a cloaking device

  • wow...

  • Wow.. uh.. They really came along way. The graphics were terrible!

  • @Originalhazebh

The games older than you are.... Well i think ps3's older than you are.

  • Anger management? what says i was angry? And if you didnt get this. This game is 30 years old. So give it some respect! Graphics like that in those times were unbeliweable.

  • @puppett11 its actually from like 1996

  • "Well I think the PS3's older than you are"

    Enough sad, good day.

  • Well you cant say i was "Angry" And still i think for game from that year. The graphics were exelent. Storyline better than oblivion has. And gameplays awesome.

  • @puppett11 although I agree the graphics were excellent for the time and the gameplay was good, i don't agree the story was really better than oblivion, perhaps you are just claiming this so younger players feel like they were missing out by not being around for these old school games. I love old school as much as the other guy, but games this outdated just are not as good as new games.

  • @OriginalHazeBX when it comes to a classic graphics mean nothing

  • That's good money for just killing a bear!!!! Mage's Guild is a lot tighter with it's money! :)

  • i think they should make a remake of this for psp

  • Holy shit! That would be awesome as hell.

  • God, that would be horrible.

  • and why?

  • man this game looks sick, I heard somewhere that oblivion isn't half as big as morrowind which isn't half as big as daggerfall, meaning this game should be gigantic.

  • @AvoidingtheQuestion

Go play it. You can download it for free at the Elder Scrolls website.

  • The game world is twice the size of Great Brittan. Huge

  • @fly666monkey Yea but then Great Britain isn't radomly generated

  • @AvoidingtheQuestion Actually, Oblivion is slightly smaller than Morrowind, and this is 10 times larger than Morrowind. What makes it so big is that a lot of the wilderness is randomly generated terrain, compared to the actual terrain modeling in Morrowind and Oblivion.

  • ouh man !

    this music sucks!XD

  • That horse is kick ass....rofl...the music reminds me of final fantasy and other games of the genre...especially one game that was on I think the SNES...where you were on this roof and a star scape with a voice or some shit...been a long time....nostalgia

  • tru it does and i have the same kind but not fully LOL

  • Lol the music sounds like a mobile ring tone xD

  • How old are you? It's FM synthesis.

  • 15. why?

  • Because it sounded like you had never heard FM synthesis before.

  • oh ok

  • wow it really sounds like runescape ripped this game sounds

  • omg i cant belive that this was the shit that time

  • looks and sounds like a first person runescape

  • Yep, at 1996 this game was epic.

  • gotta love that music.

  • you can download this game for free on the elder scrolls website, it looks ok for its time.

  • This game looks amazing.

    seriously

  • not that i don't like the musical geniality of the creators... but is there a posibility of shuting the music down and not the FX nor mine?

  • LOL !!

Old games are much nicer than "hyper cool"

    games of today !!!!

    lol ;-DD

  • ooh man and i didn't knew about this game when it was its time ! :D i would have played it hours :) The sound of the doors getting opened made me laugh :))

  • THATS A BIG FUCKING HORSE

  • I know right haha

  • I remember the first time I played this game. I'll never forget that dungeon and those damn bats. And the gold in the hole in the wall. lol It was a little scary too because you can hear them around the corner and through the wall. Some how... the depth perception and game play in daggerfall remains very immerse. Sometimes simplicity can be a beautiful thing.

  • now i know why they have created the Vsync...

  • interesting sound card

  • Morrowind was released six years about Daggerfall.

  • do you mean after?

  • Ugh, yes. Meant to say "about six years after Daggerfall".

  • Yes,And I,For One,And This is MY opinion(sp), This Daggerfall was better than Morrowind. *prepares for a noob dog-pile*

  • dude this is like 15 years old...

  • I know, its just i used to bitch a lot about how morrowind looked and this made me rethink about it.

  • pac man is 30 years old. Pong is 30+ what about it?

  • i'd reply but theres so many comments i cant find mine - what did i say? usually im in defense for older games

  • Oh ok, you said (dude this game is 15 years old) i though it was a jab. I gotta defend the old ones to :)

  • i was replying to someone who was dissing the game and comparing it to new games, i wasnt jabbing lol XD

  • @bakahaseo You would choose graphics over gameplay

  • downloading it right now just wanna try it out im definetely getting morrowing for pc soon and oblivion for 360

  • I like how the horse sounds like it walks on 2 legs lol.

ah well, may not look like much now, but this game was awesome back in the day

  • That's not the horse making that sound that's your servant following you with a coconut shell.

  • So many hours lost to this game... and I never got close to finishing the main quest. It is one of the most immersive games I have ever played. It just felt... alive. The leveling system was the best of any TES game as far as I'm concerned too. Comparing Oblivion and Daggerfall is useless. Oblivion was developed for the console audience, Daggerfall for the PC audience of the mid nineties.

  • bethesda knows how to make very long games ive probably spent a month in time on oblivion and i still havent been everyone know i want to try out daggerfall since its free to download

  • I actually prefer Oblivion on the PC much more than the console version due to modding being so easy to do and get.. I will say these older games are what started it all and are often much more immersive than the newer games but Oblivion still is a great game..

  • I agree. They're all great games, it just depends what mood I'm in.

Honestly, though, I'd say Morrowind is my least favorite. I've replayed it a lot, and it's a ton of fun at the beginning, but it gets boring pretty quickly. Still a great game, just not with much replay value.

  • Yeah I can't say much about Morrowind because I didn't play it much .. but on Oblivion I got a single save that has something like 190+ hours on it and im still not bored ... Once I get bored I make a new character like a Archer or a mage to see how different it is etc.

  • @Teleemahn Finally someone agrees with me that morrowind is not the best elder scrolls.

  • @acynnon i hav oblivion on ps3 and morrowind on pc and after descovering the wonders of the console comands on morrowind i am going to buy oblivion for pc

  • Daggerfall is Doom with RPG Steroids!

    d(^_^)b

  • OMG SO ANNOYING!

  • you can turn the volume off you know

  • How old is this one? did it come out on win 95?

  • it was realeased in 1997 I think.

  • fail :P

    its 1996

  • >:(

  • lol quite old , looks alot like might and magic, the ones that were on the snes lol

  • es el peor juego q eh visto prefiero runescape a que esta mierda...

  • its the roleplay with the biggest map

  • Your loss!

  • ''Grizzlybear just died.'' <- lol

Is it 1st Fighters Guild quest? Just wondering.. the animal should have been a rat ;)

  • That's incredible, I've wanted to play Daggerfall since Morrowind.

  • It's now free!

It's being released due to it being the 15th anniversary of ES! :D!

  • What is the combat system like?

Is it like you move your mouse to attack or is it like something else?

  • You click the mouse and drag it to swing.

It's quite cool actually, depending on how you drag the mouse you'll swing your weapon in different directions.

  • That is... SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morrowind is my fav game, that not even Oblivion could satisfy what Morrowind gave me, probably cause I was a kid and I played it.

But in Morrowind, you have to move left, to make a slash.

Move Forward to make a stab, stand still to make a normal attack.

    Kinda stupid.

  • BTW, how do you move though?

Like, is it, like a normal FPS type of movement?

You use mouse to look around, and

    A,S,D,W, to move?

  • Yes, it's the usual fps style.

It's not like that by default, though. With the default settings you also move using the mouse.

  • Loool. The lock doesn't fear you.

  • Download this game for free at the official Elder Scrolls Website.

  • Hate to say this but The first one Arena. I thought it had the worse starting dungeon ever lol.

  • Indeed, Daggerfall is now freely distributed over the official Bethesda website.

  • You can now download this for free from the official website
