He did, at the beginning he puts oats into the blender. The problem with oat flour I find is that you use more oats in 1 cup than normal rolled oats. I ALWAYS used rolled oats for my baking products, such as egg white and oatmeal pancakes, but when things like using it for shakes post workout or meal replacement, you may be using too much oats (therefore too many carbs) with oat flour. Basically, I recommend weighing the oats in rolled, whole form, then blend it, if possible.
I am wondering if I want to eat that between my meals, do I split that in three cups or do I eat only half of that in between my meals or what ? Please let me know it is important to me. Thank you.
AWESOMEEE !!! Perfect. just need to change the macro content for this recipe, as it can be used as a great bread substitue !!! I think I would do 15g of carbs from the oats & 15g of protein from the WPI. thanks again, awesomeness :)
I make this shake almost everyday for breakfast with variations on flavor; I use fruit and flax oil or ground seeds for healthy fats. It's awesome. Thank you leanbodylifestyle.
i hate making breakfast inj the morning and this is so great because i can make it the night befor, i am also using this instead of a plain protein shake
saw it was done i went out in the kitchen made it in under 5 minutes and drank it all cleaned it all up got back here in max 10min and damn a nice recipe! :D
I tried this recipe and there was a problem. The grinded oats stayed at the bottom of the shake which is not very practical when your on the go. Even when i shaked it, the oats quickly sunk to the bottom, and i only put 1/2 cup of oats. How can i fix or prevent this problem?
Hey Michael - another awesome one I have found is to use chocolate protein powder and coffee. Tastes awesome - try it! Great videos; absolutely 100% useful; keep it up!
Just want to know, are weight gaining supplements such as protein powders good for teens. I don't consume it a lot, but usually after a workout. Please answer thanks.
@MrNEPatriots51 ok, i will add only oats, iso100 (0 fats protein) and skimmed milk cuz i have a fridge at work , i guess this way i will eliminate much fats, thanks for the reply man
@leanbodylifestyle i have been watching your videos for so long i am from india but the only complaint we have is the protien powder its so expensive in india so plz try to do videos without the whey protien as much as possible love you tho :-)
hey michael, can you tell me the ingredients please? the sound is gone in my computer, so i can't listen, thanks a lot...and one last question... can i drink the shake if i'm not doing workout? greetings buddy
I will have to try this. I'm usually not too find of water shakes though...might just have to tough it out, I have around 4 back-to-back classes around an hour each, on tues and thurs. About 6 hours...and i find it extremely tough to eat since i get no lunch..
I've read that the protein powder ideally should be consumed straight away. Is this just a myth or can you keep protein powder mixed up for several hours?
Well I'm effed... We can't have any liquids but water in class and I don't have time to try and drink half of this between classes without getting caught. I could drink it for lunch.... My schools food is sh*t except for the fake McRibs and the mystery meat sandwich lol
@bde1828 very stupid question...dude from leanbodylifestyle is shredded, GTFO with your bulking & cutting crap. I'm sure he follows a consistently clean diet. Lol @ Bulking and cutting. Pls leave.
Hey man great videos, I was wondering what kind of blender you use because mine is a piece of shit and need something better, like what model do you have thanks and keep up the awsome work!
@sp5286 yeah I tried ordering dymatize whey once from amazon, it never arrived BUT try Gold Standard--they have many different flavors or 'flavours' as y'all would say. vanilla icecream and milk chocolate are great--also great combined. there are other exotic flavors too such as chocolate mint, cookie dough, mocha, and all the fruit ones. there are cheaper brands out there but make sure they have all the bcaas. esp leucine!
In "their" defense, considering pretty much every packaging of Oats products always say to cook on the back, it's not unreasonable that people - especially folks new to healthy eating - would double-check if it's safe to eat raw.
Most people think "oatmeal" and immediately think cook in microwave.
@EB5005 NO your totally wrong. eating fat won't make you fat nor eating simple carbs. The only thing that will make you fat is if you surpass your Total Daily Calorie Intake. Just hit your MACROS daily,
@bde1828 Dude How do i calculate my daily MACROS??........Please help if you can because i've been having protein shake and do cardio and weight exercises but no weight loss at all :(
@JamilELBarbir2 sugar will spike your insulin if im not mistaken. and when you spike your insulin, you body recharges the gylcogen in your muscles. it also helps your body send the protein to your muscles due to higher blood sugar levels. you should only have simple carbs/sugars after a workout when your muscles are depleted in gylcogen, as it just helps the body use the protein more effectivly. bad if you wanna eat simple carbs/sugar all the time because your body is storing calories all the t

There are fats and bad fats.

Good fats- nuts, olive oils, peanut butter.
Bad fats- fried foods, processed foods, meats with fat on it.
hope that helped.

@sp5286 Get 1g/1 lbm of Protein or more. Get 1lbm /.45g of Fat or more. The rest comes from carbs or a combination of p/c/f.
Ex.
First find your calorie intake: Use Mifflen-St Jeor Formula.
A guy weights 150 lbs with 15% BodyFat. Maintenance Calories: 2200
lbs x bf = total, lbs - total= LBM (Lean Body Mass)
150 x .15= 22.5, 150 - 22.5= 127.5 LBM
Protein: 127.5 grams
Fat: 62 grams (Cut Protein in Half)
Carbs: The rest of the calories can come from carbs or a combination of p/c/f.
