I must say, this is one of the very few horror movies from that past ten years that actually scared me. I thought it was great! There are too few ghost movies coming out lately and too many zombie apocalypse and slasher films (which aren't scary one bit) And its disappointing also that the horror genre has to be looked down upon so often. There just aren't any good horrors that can match up to Kubrik's "The Shining" or Polanski's "Rosemary's Baby".

@dzpisx I watched "Haunting in Connecticut" in the dark alone, with my headphones on and I didn't get scared one bit, because horror movies don't scare me. I did find it thoroughly engaging and intense though. A lot of people watch horror movies to get a good scare, but for me I watch them for the special make-up effects. When I was younger I used to "envestigate" haunted houses. And I entered one 'scary looking house' and one of my friends tripped and landed on a knife I was crying because I was scared and then I felt something touch me and when I turned back I saw a alien-looking I ran out of the house that night I had nightmares and huge headache and this maybe of a tragidy that happend to me when i was younger and thats what my parents thiught until I went to church. Now thats another story.
There are going to be two more movies after this one! The Haunting in Georgia and The Haunting in New York. I bet they'll both be as scary and as thrilling as the first.

There is a movie and a SHOW. the show is origanaly called: A haunting, but this one was changed to, A Haunting: In Conneticut. Its basicly the movie, just renacted to what happened, its a great, sad, and horrific story, but i belive in the real story, the son gets cancer AFTER they move into the house, and when they leave the house, about a year later, his cancer was gone, and he got to be with his family again.
Isn't the house that it happened in obviously, Its located in touelon Manitoba, My grandma and uncle live there, My Grandmas house is like 45 houses away, I got to go up to the house after it was filmed and go to the basement window and look in, Man was it scary

before i was born, my brother's room was above my mom's, and he'd get scared in the middle of the night. he'd jump down off the bed with a big THUMP and then you'd hear the pitter-patter of his little feet across the floor and down the stairs to my mom's room. my mom'd expected to hear him sometimes. one night she heard the same noises, but my brother never came into the room. she went upstairs and he was sound asleep. she heard somebody coming down the stairs, but no one coming back up ^^

There needs to be a horror film directed by Takashi Miike, something like Haunting in Conneticut, but alittle more nightmarish... alittle like Silent Hill and Stephen King mixed together.

@dzpisx I watched "Haunting in Connecticut" in the dark alone, with my headphones on and I didn't get scared one bit, because horror movies don't scare me. I did find it thoroughly engaging and intense though. A lot of people watch horror movies to get a good scare, but for me I watch them for the special make-up effects. I especially love what they call "creature features." Peace, over and out!

When I was younger I used to "envestigate" haunted houses. And I entered one 'scary looking house' and one of my friends tripped and landed on a knife I was crying because I was scared and then I felt something touch me and when I turned back I saw a alien-looking I ran out of the house that night I had nightmares and huge headache and this maybe of a tragidy that happend to me when i was younger and thats what my parents thiught until I went to church. Now thats another story.

i think people shouid be careful using this term -------BASED ON A TRUE STORY. You can not missuse these words all the time, it is way often used even if there is no proof anything happend, that is often false and if you use BASED ON A TRUE STORY...THEN PROVE IT, THERE IS NO PROOF, so dont use those words!!!

what's even worse is when they use 'based on true events'.. Someone crashes a bicycle against a portapotty and goes into a coma.. and Hollywood would have changed the bicycle into a BMX motorcycle and the portapotty into the side of a building.. true events but details are way off.

There is a movie and a SHOW. the show is origanaly called: A haunting, but this one was changed to, A Haunting: In Conneticut. Its basicly the movie, just renacted to what happened, its a great, sad, and horrific story, but i belive in the real story, the son gets cancer AFTER they move into the house, and when they leave the house, about a year later, his cancer was gone, and he got to be with his family again.

Isn't the house that it happened in obviously, Its located in touelon Manitoba, My grandma and uncle live there, My Grandmas house is like 45 houses away, I got to go up to the house after it was filmed and go to the basement window and look in, Man was it scary

The thing I found funny about this movie was that the credits scared me more then anything else in the movie. Not saying the movie wasn't scary, it really was (and I'm hard to scare) but that last shot of the attic window with the face in it, GOD DAMN!!!

At the end of the movie before the credits they said that the house was rebuilt and resold so yeah it's possible to see it......
That was a really good movie I just finished watching it downstairs I wanna see the house too which may not be a problem because I live in Connecticut!

before i was born, my brother's room was above my mom's, and he'd get scared in the middle of the night. he'd jump down off the bed with a big THUMP and then you'd hear the pitter-patter of his little feet across the floor and down the stairs to my mom's room. my mom'd expected to hear him sometimes. one night she heard the same noises, but my brother never came into the room. she went upstairs and he was sound asleep. she heard somebody coming down the stairs, but no one coming back up ^^

i was at a friends house one night last summer and he told me his house is kinda wierd..so iwas kinda creeped out to go to sleep. so i just layed on the couch staring at the ceiling. i saw a swift shadow fly by and i looked to the right and saw a littlegirl/lady's hair swift around the corner down the hallway. that was all i saw but it was still freaky as hell. i woke him up and he told me that hes seen the lame thing. cept he was in his bathroom and looked out the window& saw a girl standing

i have a bathroom in my room, and when i got up to go to the bathroom when i was washing my hands i looked in the mirror and i saw a little boy/girl/thing like next to my shower. i couldnt get to sleep and my mom didnt believe me and she put a camera in there and at the very end of the tape, it caught a flash of a person. so we moved to a different state and now we're in Delawere. it happened 6-17-2004
