I am a bit confused on why someone would ask who sings this song when it is blatantly in the title however.........thanks for posting!! Great song for a solid last scene....
Just watched Uncle Buck again after so many years but it's the first time I truly listened to this song. I guess as I'm getting older, I start to watch the credit and listen to the song.
At first I thought it was Prince (formerly known as Prince) because it kind of sounds like him. The ending made me cry because I"m so whipped for 80s nostalgia ... this song is awesome too.
Watching the Lakers and Suns game...watching my Suns get beat :(...needed a pick me up. This song always does the trick. Reminds me of my childhood. My sisters and I watched Uncle Buck religiously when we were kids.
I love this song every time hear it i cry my son is talking about going to college out of town i just (pray) he'll be O.K. as well as my baby girls.LOTS LOVE THERE MOM (CANDY)
Why do I always turn to a wreak when I hear this song?? :( I loved John, him being gone started to hit me when I lost my two most loved uncles in the last 6 years...OMG, I feel sad...
@ramonetime As far as I know, a true instrumental version doesn't exist. I just mixed together the instrumental part in the beginning of Uncle Buck with the part at the end of the movie, but I don't think an actual instrumental version was ever released.
dose any body know the name of the song when he gose to the party.........u want it baby u got it.......some thing like that..... plz reply let me know!
does anybody now the the name of the song when he is walking in to the school its intstrumental, great song played with the electric gitar. please let me now!!
Whenever i hear this song, all I can think about is John Candy & how tragic his death was to the world. It was a sad day in history when we lost this funny & wonderful man RIP John :)
Truly this is a fantastic song, every time i watch uncle buck, and this plays, there is always a tear, its a very emotional song, and when 'buck' waves at the end and it freezes..... just the best ever !!.... John candy...what a guy
@BobMcMuck Aw, hehe. I know, i know. I for one, shed a tear just by thinking of john candy and hey, lets not forget our extremely talented director, john hughes - who made the film come to life in such a beautiful way.
Man, the 70s, 80s, and 90s were the trifecta of music for me. Having been born in '85 it's a little weird to say that, but it's true. I think 90% of all the worlds best music was recorded in just those three decades.
It would have been sweet if you could've had the pic of john waving, the still shot of him at the end of the movie... Thanks for posting this! I have loved this song for a long time!
Does anyone know the name of the song that is playing when Uncle Buck is driving back to the house after Tia didn't show up after school (the part where he goes around the corner and he is driving towards the camera)?
Definately is great just everything about UB and John Candy was just ace, wish I could see what he would be like today, doing like maybe premiere interviews n stuff would be wonderfull to see him on shows like Ellen I think that would be as funny as hell, would have me in stitches laughing I think it would have been wonderfull if he could go on shows like that, shes really funny is ellen I think, THUMBS UP AMERICA FOR GIVING US JOHN CANDY!!!
Ya know with UB his characteristics, John Hughes actually wrote the script the way John Candy was in the sense of his lovable humour, was actually written with his like characteristics in mind, so that is why he played it so well as he did, he was a person friend of the great man John, miss him loads.
Whatever way you look at it John Hughes was the best director in history I think, he just made me laugh that much then and now I still love the films, since I was 13 ive loved them, im 27 now!
everytime i hear this song, it makes me cry. love this song too much.
