@montserrat533 Oh wow ... you're going to come to Carmel again ! Thats wonderful. I sure wish I could do that. If our son ever gets out of college maybe we could afford to do that too ! Maybe someday !! = )
@nauort23 Both of those are from It Happened To Jane with Jack Lemmon. The boy that plays her son is Teddy Rooney - Mickey Rooney's son ! The little girl is Gina Gillespie. It's the movie she made just before Pillow Talk - wasn't a hit at all but I actually think its a fun movie.
@Dayniac4324 Wow. Never saw Jack looking so... hot? lol. Thanks for all the info and the recommendation on the movie. And thanks for being a great fan and making all these great Doris Day videos. I've been loving her since I was a kid, and always got a little flack for it!!
@nauort23 Yep ... that was Jack ! Ha ha ... I've been a fan since I was 10 and I know in the 70's it wasn't too cool to be a Doris fan .... but I was and am !! She's had a great resurgance of late - Sony has recently released a new cd. Doris chose all the songs and I hear this is the first release of a few of the songs. She still receives as much fan mail as she did when she was still making movies ! So .. we are not alone in being Doris fans. Hang in there !! =)
what's your top five favorite female singers of all time ? i cant even think of mine but i know judy garland is 1 and either doris day or barbra striesand is 2
I thoroughly enjoyed that....by sound AND sight....wonderful. I could hear my mom in the front of the car singing that with all of us trying to remember more words then the others.
Thank you Doris for all those movies. They weren't formulaic in my thinking....they were prescriptive....thank you.
@momadymond I'm so happy you enjoyed it .... it brought some nice memories !! I'm with you in thanking Doris for all her great movies and music. She's quite a lady !! Thank you !!

That's the version I grew up on - the one from the Little Lulu cartoon - loved it, couldn't wait for the re-run so I could hear that song. When I was in my 20's, I found it by Bing Crosby, and bought it. Doris Day's version is cool, too. But, then, so is Doris. She's the Queen of Cool.
@CheckMate657879 I'm not familiar with the Little Lulu one. I'll have to look for that. I love Bings version too ... of course love Doris' rendition. Have to agree with you ... she's the queen of cool ! Thanks ... so happy you enjoyed !
how did i miss this?? although, i am used to the mitchell boy choir version in bing crosby's "going my way", i have enjoyed this alot in the car, etc!! much fun!! many stars, for this fun video!!!
How wonderful, thanks Tony! I am glad Doris worked with children unlike so many other actresses. They are all so cute, but my favourites are the two from TTOIA!
Those are my favorites too. I love that bath scene - ooky soap ! She didn't seem to have a problem playing a mother - as many other actresses did. I love her in her mommy roles.
A number of commentators have noticed how well Doris played a mother and how many other actresses had difficulty with it and/or avoided it. One critic said that her scenes with the boys in "Please Don't Eat The Daisies" were the finest parent/child portrayals prior to "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore. I met Kym Karath, (TTOIA, and at #116-120 on this video) at a film buff's convention in Hollywood and she told me, "Doris is simply a very kind woman."
Hi Toni, Sorry for the late reply. I love this song and I love it that you've used Doris film childeren in your video. She had many hasn't she? Doris was wonderful with childeren. Thank you again for sharing and have a good weekend yourself.

@montserrat533 I keep hoping the lottery is in our future too ... but .... I doubt it !! Never win anything !
But if I do ... you'll see me in Carmel ! Or England ... one of the places I would dearly love to see.
I hope you can go back to Carmel ... I imagine its a lot of fun. I just saw in my google alert that Doris is
the oldest lady to ever hit the top ten on the charts in the UK ! That is amazing !! Hope you have a wonderful
week ... hugs.. Toni

She really had a natural connection with them on the screen. Completely believable. And - had no problem being a mother on the screen.
I have to agree with the PDETD analysis - how true to life that portrayal was !
