  • I love this. Even though I understand none of the words ... magnificent! Thank You.

  • 1:56 is ethereal. Hail Wardruna.

  • this band kicks ass

  • Mjød is a european drink they drank it nearly ( also in north africa )everywhere cuz it was easy to make

  • Mjød also in Russian means honey. There are many simularities between Slavic and Scandinavian languages.

  • @bulgarianslavianin

hmmm, that´s mistake a bit. Russia is named in according to the Sweden vigings (Ruser). But, we are all belong to indo-european nations and your languages have the same basement and were very close before few thousand years. Few worlds are still very similer or close. Take Dios, Diana, "dur", dřevo (wood, czech), derevo (Russia), it means hard. Or rivers - Jizera, Izer etc. Or Sabka and Sabaka (Persia/Russia) and mutch more.Honey, med mjod, it´s the same

  • @pzdmc4d The endings of the adjectives in Scandinavian and Slavic languages are also very close - SvenSKA, DanSKA, IslenSKA like in our - BulgarSKA, (for feminine) SrpSKI (for maskuline), SkandinavSKO (for neuter) :)

  • amazing band!!! so fucking epic!!! damns i love this band \m/

  • Is this what I think it is... Wardruna and Gjallarhorn collaboration? :D

  • my favorite from Wardruna

  • Anyone have English translations?

  • @EaldRice I tried to find the lyrics in english but couldn't find anything. Altough, reading through the text (I'm swedish, understand norweigan a little) I understand that it is almost like a thank you song to nature and the gods (praying to them to bring life to earth). Or that's how I interpret the lyrics. If it's wrong, then please someone, correct me :)

  • @EaldRice do what i do. copy the lyrics from any lyrics site and paste it onto google, Then hit translate.

  • no ping ping ;)

  • I like the soft voice of Gaahl :D

  • it's interesting to find two very different sides of Kvitrafn and Gaahl. From Gorgoroth to Wardruna......

  • @GraysonDean199 What u said, man

  • @geriatricblonde I found-out about Wardruna thru Gorgoroth. Gorgoroth is like a badass Black Metal band and this one is a peaceful folk-music project-two different sides.....get it?

  • @GraysonDean1990 I am a fan of the Gorgoroth that included the line up of King, Ghaal, Infernus and Kvitrafn. The Pest guy is annoying....The two sides of Ghaal and Kvitrafn is epic. Hats off and Kudos to this amazing line up of Wardruna. the music is haunting and primal.............

  • @AirinDisobedience

    omg this is way better

  • wow ghaal from gorgoroth is realy in this ?

  • @TheGreyshaun

    Yes :)

  • Best sleep music ever, I'm gonna listen to Wardrune during my mountain trip on Sunday, may the gods bless you, hail the Trinity!

  • Great blot music

  • may the Gods be praised!

  • i can´t understand, why some poeple don´t like such music... wonderful.....

  • Well, I guess I finally have an amazing reason to study the Futhark/Futhorc. Incredible fucking music. It fills me with vast storehouses of passion and energy, and it all just gets... released. It's relaxing music. This is good. Really fucking good. Can't wait for the next two installments.

  • Gaahl ruins it with his gayness!

  • @KFChater Gaahl isn't gay! Well, he is, but still. He's a freak and creeps me the fuck out, but that doesn't change that he actually makes good music, haha.

  • @KFChater you, my friend, are an ignorant waste of life. An oxygen thief, if you will.

  • @Daermun

    Sure he will. /ironic

BTW, i don't know anyone of our little circle listening to Gaygoroth. Cheers.

  • @KFChater that literally made no sense in response to what I said.

  • @KFChater You get the occasionaly person who insluts Gaahl for being gay, but the metal community already rocognised his as a 6ft nutter with the look of a viking serial killer. Gay or not, he'd still kick most peoples ass

  • Understand what is to understand, accept what shouldn't be explained.

Have a look into the deepest inside of your sense. You discover yourself.

Will well up like their music did.

  • 1) The Joy of Satan is a bloody single-minded, blind, idiotic cult. It's not even true Satanism in any way, shape of form. Hell, no one has ever even seen their high priestess ever. She comes once in a blue moon, rambles something, then disappears.

    2) If anyone has looked up the lyrical translations - have they found an entire paragraph to be missing? Could anyone explain why is this so?

  • What jara means???

  • @Voodoozeko jara is a flower jajajaja

  • @vindicare01 Ok thanks : )

  • Some of you might want to check out these websites. There is so much extremely valuable Ancient Pagan knowledge there. Go to EXPOSINGCHRISTIANITY,COM and JOYOFSATAN,ORG. These are our Pagan roots, and humanity's Original Religion. The whole reason for "religion" was to spiritually empower ourselves to get out of the cycles of reincarnation, and to overcome them. That's what these sites are all about. I personally love this CD, I use it sometimes to meditate, or driving music. Money well spent!!

  • been to norway one time, fell in love with the country. gonna go there for two weeks next summer

  • Could you upload the picture ? ; ) thank you

  • See; I prefer this over the hard rock thing they're doing; this really makes one feel connected to their roots.

  • Holy odin I just have been overcome by happyness.

  • @TheGermanicSoul Yet you defile him with your uprighteous comparism to the christian term "Holy god" or "Hole Jesus".

  • sounds like the goup "volund" i have upload some songs from them at youtube

  • Forget my recipe about

    Real NORWEGIAN Viking mead (MJØD

    It is Totally wrong

  • @gulis4u i think that Mjød is generally a scandinavian thing and not a particually Norwegian thing

  • @pilsforboys AGREE

  • @pilsforboys

Mead, Mjød, Miód, Midus, Med, Mied, Mede, Met, Mid, Midis, Midana, Maidana, Mjöð, Mõdu, Meá, Medovina, Mit, Medalus is an everywhere thing, people have been drinking it since the dawn of time and as you can see even the word for it has barely changed.

  • @pilsforboys Its not scandinavian, it was commonly used in whole europe ......

  • @pilsforboys Except that it originally comes from the Germanic tribes. But the history books have been rewritten about those apparently.

  • 0.47 and i got chills all over, beautiful music

  • Is there a single electric guitar on the album. I am stuck in the Lord of the Rings when I listen. It definitely is entrancing though and without the Satanic images. True Norwegian belief system had nothing like Gorgoroth or Death metal imagery. If Death Metal's goal was to defeat Christianity, they cant succeed. Thats like the DEA trying to eradicate marijuana. But those who want to shed Christianity for themselves only have to take a minute to decide. Then it is done.

  • @19gonzaga99

True words. Have a nice day :)

  • Quick! Bring me my sword and armor! I Have to say goodbye to my love now. Before the final bloody battle!

  • Real NORWEGIAN Viking mead (MJØD)

    8 liters of water

    500 g sugar

    500 g brown sugar

    2 lemons

    1 cup molasses

    or ginger

    1 / 4 teaspoon yeast

    raisins or dried plums

  • @gulis4u the vikingr had lemons?

  • @wintersnowolves The weather was much warmer then. I know for sure that they had wine-grapes. There are also some herbs, fruit and vegetables that could partly replace lemons, but lemons? Possible only in the warmest parts of the country.

  • @gulis4u I really doubt that they grew grapes or lemon trees in Norway (or Northern Europe for that matter) in the viking age.

  • @gulis4u The weather was colder. Quite alot colder.

  • @xshaggothxx No, the weather was actually warmer in Norway a 1000 years ago.

  • @gulis4u The main ingredient in mead is honey, and yet you've failed to even mention it!

  • @MandreasW You are quite right. I have put up this recipe without checking

  • @gulis4u I'm fairly certain there was no lemon trees nor sugar canes growing in Norway during the end of the first millennium. I believe Vikings in Norway used honey in their mjød.

  • @Draugrinn Mjod? In Polish, honey is miod :)

  • @Draugrinn Correct.

  • @Draugrinn they did indeed use honey.

Daumen hoch.

  • is it me, or does this music want you to slay a whole bunch of skraelings!?! o.0

  • Hauntingly Beautiful.

  • Are there any other bands similar to Wardruna??

  • @Zakopane20004

polecam Drudh- Songs of Grief and Solitude; Vali oraz Empyrium, album- Where At Night The Wood Grouse Plays. raczej gitarowo, ale klimat zachowany jak najbardziej.

  • Gucci Mane

  • or mabe because he wants to try something different

  • Gorgoroth isn't Gaahl's band. It's good he left. Pest is better :)

  • beautiful...I love it!

  • Ina way, it very dark, yet beautiful because it is so.

  • this music takes piece..

  • This is really peaceful stuff. Feels great to play something like this between all the black and death metal. I need more ambient music.

  • Truly is man. I put on this album when i go to sleep, it's brilliant

  • Same here, all ambient, dark, drone etc is at my sleep time. Best time to listen to this type of music, because you can actually feel the atmosphere, and run your thoughts like crazy.

  • @Deathstick88 so did u ever heard more than 2 songs from album since u sleep ? lol

  • @janko666999 LOL

  • @laurencedeer9: No, its norwegian

  • @laurencedeer9 it is human way of communication that is what language is and every1 can learn but the optimized way would b 1 language lol peace

  • scandinavian languages do tend to match the dutch language a little bit..

in my flemish dialect (belgium) we say

    "noste zomer" => next summer

    in non-dialect norwegian, people say

"neste sommer" wich means totally the same.

in some regions of belgium, people even tend to say "neste" as well instead of noste, wich makes the pronunciation almost identical ^^

    "end wall of text"

  • probleem opgelost mr als ik da gepost had da bericht ws ik ng nie echt goe wakker dsja :p

    vn waar zijt gij?

    oost vlaanderen ofzo?

i am from the region of Ghent:)

did you know that "verket" (flemish dialect wich means a "fork") is used in norwegian language as well? i am not sure how it's wriotten in norwegian but i believe its almost the same

    greets

  • true

    didn't now that ^^

    i am from the temse

    its between sint-niklaas and antwerp

  • Dude there's a whole genre of music like this. they arent the only band doing this stuff. In fact they barely started while other bands have more than 5 albums!

  • Gotta love Wardruna. This song, and "Kauna" are my personal higlighters of the album (which whole is great by the way). If anyone knows similar stuff, please lemme know.

  • Try Hagalaz Runedance and Lord Wind

  • i was able to find the first part of the lyrics ...

    Soli har venda,

    i haustinga ligg håpet.

    Solrik sumar

    og allgroande åkre.

Does anyone know the rest, and the translations ?

  • Im not sure, becouse it is a verry old verson of norwegian, bu i belives it is sommething like

    the sun has turned

in the autumm lies the hope

    Sunritch summer

    And forever growing fields

  • I agree partly with your translation.

i think "i haustinga ligg håpet" Might mean "in the harvest lies hope". In Ivar Aasens written norwegian language "haust" is both autumn and harvest. maybe the dual meaning was intentional aswell... great tune!

  • Your probably rigth, considering jara is a rune of harvest, so it makes sense. ; )

  • in the album there is only this part...and no, any translation.

  • What are they singing about?

  • the Jera rune, which represents the gradual changes in the seasons through time.

  • Which language gaahl is speaking ?

  • Norway

  • Comment removed

  • I thought it was old norse...

  • "Jara" great song...one of the most beautiful taken from the album

  • I would agree- all of them are brilliant- but this one catches my attention the most.

  • Hail Wardruna

  • depends where you live. I live in the States I probably will have to order it over the net. Which sucks

  • itunes 9.99

  • so great! Hail Warduna! 5*

  • But the album suppose to be at stores in Jan.19th. !!!!!
