The nose and the ear thing is completely wrong. It is the skeleton which is reducing in size, making the appearance of a bigger nose and ears.

What I think is that God created the very first things ever that developed through evolution creating us. A better question would be based on the similarities of the development of human embryos vs. other embryos such as that of a pig or rabbit. Is this due to all organisms having common ancestors or due to God or gods, which ever you prefer, using this system because of its 'efficiency'. I quote efficiency because that can be debated.
