  • The final score of this game would have been something like 289-279 if they had reactive balls back then. Did anyone notice on the 7-10 pocket hit by Mattingly that the 5-pin went behind the 7-pin, not in front of it. That is an indication of a strong ball, pretty difficult to do with a plastic ball. I had forgotten about Mattingly until seeing this video. Can anyone tell me how he passed away?

  • @pizzaguy1966 Car accident.

  • THANK YOU!!! Jeff Mattingly is one of my all time favorite PBA Tour members. He was the father of the modern day crank and revved the ball smoothly. He had the power of a Mark Roth with the finesse and gracefulness of an Earl Anthony. What a tragic demise to such a talented individual! If Jeff Mattingly ever had a more loyal fan, that would heve been me!

  • @Trelane11267 Please forgive the typo, it's have, not heve!

  • were the pins much heavier back then?

all those weak 10s: story of my life!

  • LOL. i voled the way they did the recap. i really liked the laub and holman one!

  • Both Frank Gliber and Jeff Mattingly died in the early 80's...way too young.

  • That's a lot of 10 pins

  • RIP the White Whale

  • Not mrtvman
