Instead of a poorly placed hatch, you could make a zergling and take control with that. It isn't worth 300 minerals just for a tower when you can make 2 zerglings for 50.
@ForeverGoth You clearly know nothing about Zerg lategame. The abundance of minerals in any zerg game is quite clear in every matchup. Any good player should be placing hatcheries on various locations to further your production capabilities and also delay the inevitable push that is coming. The placement of this hatchery is actually really good. 300 minerals is nothing in zerg lategame.
@MilletGtr lategame? the zerg reaches population cap way faster than any other race and is always willing to throw an army away at the enemy and then quickly respawn that army and hit again. . .and this hatchery isnt even on an expansion. . . ON TOP of the fact that the hatchery is undefended. . .so what were you saying again? nothing important? yes I agree :)
I never even considered this, very cool. As a Zerg player we are so used to trying to keep our production buildings and expansions as far from our opponent as possible that we never experiment with having a forward hatch.
hmm i liked the idea of the mass hatch in the main, but this idea just seems kinda of a waste of minerals for only 2 minutes and 20 seconds of use. But thats just my opinion. keep the tricks comin
@QuantumWtfis Well, it's only 2 min 20 sec of use after the hatchery goes down. If the hatchery remains alive, you have full vision during that entire time due to the larvae. I think that's an awesome trick especially if you are able to keep the hatch alive and have some units there as a forward advance team to defend.
I am going to make a series calle "Road to Masters!" in which I go for masters in 1vs1 and life cast every single match. I'm Diamond right now, so it should be fun, thanks Vitensby!
@steww899 its not useless late game you can throw down proxy hatches for quicker reinforcement, you might as well put it near a watch tower for an added bonus
By itself it's not really worth it. But it's pretty good to have hatcheries in the middle of the map, so the notion that it activates towers as well is a great bonus.

build a hacth in the midle of the map where it will get killed as soon as the opponent takes the watch tower (at about 6 min) great tip

why would you waste 300 minerals for that?
ShadyForce4 2 months ago in playlist Season 1
you could put an over lord above the tower and spawn creep, that way the larvae wont die even if the hatchery is destroyed

Neat trick, but kind of a waste of minerals. A zergling is cheaper.

hmm 300min for something 25min zergling can do ... maybe only when you have split map and 9000min in bank :)

if you send units to defend the hatchery why not just use them for the watchtower rather than waste another 300 minerals on a hatchery lol?
