it's the overlap, it's not affect as you have to work with the opacity of the clip :) if you look for "sony vegas tutorial opacity" you will find some videos that explain how to do it

when you mask, on the left hand side were it says path, click the + sign. then where it says feather type, click on where it says "none" and put it to "both" then underneath that it says feather (%). change that to whateva number you want.... these boxes can only be used after you have made a path (mask) using the pen - hope that helps...
