Wow! That's a cool ole saw.....I need a chain drive gear for an old 76-78 stihl 510....Anyone know if they still make or cross ref. these ole parts? Any help would b greatly appreciated..
dude, no chainbreaks in those days? It looks to me that if the saw jolts upwards the chain will burrow into your left hand. Seeing that chain run that close to your hand makes me shiver :P
LMAO. This is a little baby saw compared to the rest of my collection. I started using it when I was twelve. And yeah, I still have all my fingers and toes.
These saws are bad to the bone! I have 5 of them. One white one that I think is 1959 and 4yellow ones that are 1963. I believe that they are skil 1645 Type 4"s. Got all mine running and they scream!
My dad used to own a Chainsaw like that... but he Lent it to a friend and the friend moved, we havn't seen it since :\

I believe you mean a STIHL 051? There was no 510 that I know of. You should be able to find almost any part you need on eBay.
