What a narcissistic exhibitionist. Read "Searching For Mercy Street - My Journey Back to My Mother, Anne Sexton" by her daughter Linda Gray Sexton. It is particularly repulsive to read about Anne stimulating her daughter Linda's privates, openly masturbating in front of her or grinding her naked genitals up againts Linda's pre-teen backside while "spooning" in bed with her. How lovely. Yes, she was bi-polar and an alcoholic but she was also extrodinarliy manipulative and a child molester.
@dadasopher, this is a wonderful tribute you've been able to make a summary of the life of Anne Sexton, she is an extraordinary woman. She has lived in the souls of so many wonderful people, she was a very sensitive woman, she was a great artist. thanks because I love Anne Sexton. Thank you very much.
@mgwest07 Jane Monheit. I heard her sing this a few years ago at the San Francisco Jazz Festival, in the Masonic Auditorium, and I went out and bought a CD with this piece. She looks as good as she sounds. Very classy.
@YellowMangerCalling Too bad Kayo never wrote a poem (or robbed a bank!), then he'd qualify for a place on Wikipedia. I'm feeling curious about him now. I wish he'd kept a diary or something.
@YellowMangerCalling Good question. I've been looking all over the web and can't find it anywhere, either. Maybe if we had one of those super-search enginges like they have on those TV police shows, we would find out. Too bad. I wonder if Linda Gray's bio of her mom might mention it somewhere.
thank you for a wonderful tribute. you've selected very nice pictures of Anne Sexton, i like especially those from 2:20 to 2:50. thank you for your work.
hey I'm doing a presentation on Anne. I think your tribute is awesome. where did you get all these gorgeous photos? :*) can I use it in my presentation?
Where did you get this from...I am related to Anne and heard alot of things down the family line...but never this! I hope you can substantiate such a disgraceful thing to say...
I used to have the Middlebrook bio of Anne-I could kick myself for trading it in at the book store! I have the 'blue' background complete poems edition-I really like that pic of Anne thanks for putting it in here! I've not seen many of the pictures here.
Thanks! - I didn't know that. The song seemed to go with Anne Sexton's pics, poems and bio. I'd forgotten that she lived during the Judy Garland years. It makes sense that the poet should love the singer. They were two great artists with powerful emotions, and they expressed these emotions powerfully in their work.
Anne Sexton...my favorite poet, such an inspiration beautiful tribute

I have Linda's bio, it's great, and I've read it many times, but she doesn't mention it. I've just always wondered about it --
