the thing you have to remember what makes this so horrifying to ricky is that the coat cost 3,500.00 dollars in 1951 in today's money that would cost $ 30.685.00 a years salary for a working man , cars cost less than a mink coat did . so when you see an old mink at a yard sale or flee market think of how valuable it was at one time worth more than a car great clip thanks

I wish they had the whole episode on youtube, the funny part is where Lucy is jealous that Ethel is wearing the mink coat she throws a tantrum like stomping her feet & crying. Lucy acts like a kid in some episodes & it's funny when she does. I also like the robber part.

I've always found Desi funnier than Lucy, and Abbott funnier than Costello. Desi really gets a chance to shine here, he's outrageously funny. It doesn't even matter that nothing makes sense here... if he wanted to stop Lucy from cutting the coat, he could have, instead of going nuts. Speaking of nothing making sense, Fred's looking pretty dapper in suit and tie.

@defundthewar I agree. For me Desi was the gem of the show. I always found him hilarious in a less obvious way than Lucy. He was truly underrated as a comic actor. His timing was always perfect. Not to mention he was the brains behind the show and the inventor of the modern sitcom. He never got enough credit.

Of course Desi never wanted much credit. He always gave it all to Lucy. He was very humble about himself and always praised her unconditionally to his dying day. Sweet man he was.
